U-Haul Company of Iowa Renovates Former 16th Avenue Storage Facility
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – (July 22, 2014) U-Haul Company of Iowa has expanded the U-Haul network of moving and self-storage locations with its purchase of a building at 1550 16th Avenue SW. The new U-Haul Moving and Storage of Cedar Rapids consists of 11 single-story self-storage buildings and a two-story building containing an office and an apartment.
Formerly 16th Avenue Storage, the building grosses 61,530 square feet and sits on 5.41 acres of land. This U-Haul facility offers truck and trailer rentals, self-storage and towing equipment. There are also 45 RV parking spaces available on-site.
Randy Dickson, marketing company president of U-Haul Company of Iowa, is excited that U-Haul Company was able to renovate an existing building within the Cedar Rapids community.
“The building was in disrepair and close to being functionally obsolete,” said Dickson. “We are glad to be able to save this facility, refurbish it and offer a superior product to our customers.”
The opening of this facility is driven by U-Haul Company’s Corporate Sustainability initiatives: U-Haul supports infill development to help local communities lower their carbon footprint.
