The Shurtliffs are the on-site managers at Rocklin Del Rio Self Storage and are eager to assist with your storage and moving needs.
Kyndra has known Haldeman, the general manager, her entire life. The trio has put its business savvy to use by blending experiences from other fields. Derek was previously a manager at Nordstrom®; Kyndra used to be a caregiver; and Haldeman owns and operates Haldeman Homes Inc., based out of Auburn, Calif.
Haldeman and Rocklin Del Rio Self Storage owner Dick Azevedo are avid contributors to the community and have hopes of building a homeless shelter in Auburn. The goal of the shelter would be to provide food and clothing, as well as support for people in need as they undergo a shift in lifestyle.
The self-storage business also is viewed as an opportunity to aid the community, Kyndra said.
“When people are renting a storage unit or moving, they generally do not have uplifting or happy stories,” she said. “They might be going through a divorce or loss of a family member. Nobody entering Rocklin Del Rio is met as a stranger.”
Rocklin Del Rio Self Storage has special meaning to its owners and managers because Haldeman contracted and built the facility. Before the self-storage units arrived, the land was used as a fruit orchard. Kyndra said that their neighbors have welcomed the business and have been receptive to U-Haul equipment in a residentially zoned area.
On Halloween, Rocklin Del Rio Self Storage decorated a golf cart and drove around the nearby neighborhood, handing out candy and glow sticks.
