Chris Ferguson Named President of U-Haul Company of Tallahassee

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Feb. 24, 2015) – Chris Ferguson’s goal of giving every customer a 5-Star rental experience made him the right choice for president of the newly formed U-Haul Company of Tallahassee. As president, Ferguson will no doubt be able to use his wealth of U-Haul knowledge, experience and leadership skill to lead his team to great success.

This newly formed company makes Ferguson excited to create new career opportunities for current and future U-Haul Team members. He also is proud to be bringing helpful opportunities to the cities and towns in the area.

“Growth will be our biggest resource,” Ferguson explained. “Our two major cities are Jacksonville and Tallahassee, both of which are vibrant and growing.  Jacksonville has two military bases and an NFL franchise, and is fast becoming one of the biggest ports on the East Coast.  Tallahassee is the capital of Florida and is home to Florida State University.  As these cities grow over time, there will always be more and more customers for us to serve.”

Ferguson began his U-Haul career in March 1999 as a customer service representative (CSR) for U-Haul Moving and Storage of Orange Park. In December 1999, Ferguson transferred to U-Haul Company of Jacksonville as a reservation manager, before being promoted to area field manager (AFM) in April 2002. In April 2006, Ferguson was promoted to general manager (GM) of U-Haul of Neptune Beach. Shortly thereafter Ferguson returned to U-Haul Company of Jacksonville to serve as a field relief manager (FRM) and traffic control manager (TCM) before returning as GM, this time to U-Haul Moving and Storage of Normandy Boulevard in September 2009. Eventually Ferguson returned to U-Haul Company of Jacksonville as TCM and then AFM, the position he held until his recent promotion.

“My job is to help my fellow team members to succeed and I will help anyone in any way I can,” Ferguson proclaimed.

Area District Vice President (ADVP) Doug Weston is looking forward to working with Ferguson in his new role.

“Chris has many years with U-Haul in a variety of positions where he has shown his leadership skills,” Weston noted. “Those skills made him the perfect choice for marketing company president. I have no doubt that Chris will lead his company to a high level of achievement.”
