U-Haul Expands Reach in Alaska with Rentals at J&G Enterprises
WASILLA, ALASKA (April 3, 2015) – Moving in the great Alaskan wilderness just got a little easier.
Logistics freight business J&G Enterprises, owned by Dixie Banner and partner David Marsh, have teamed with the industry leader in do-it-yourself moving and self-storage to offer U-Haul® trucks, trailers and towing equipment, support rental items, in-store pick-up for boxes and after-hours drop-off.
J&G Enterprises at 2200 E. Bogard Road is open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. every day. Reserve U-Haul products here by visiting http://www.uhaul.com/Locations/Truck-Rentals-near-Wasilla-AK or calling (907) 376-2629 today.
Marsh worked 10 years for FedEx® and said the logistics and customer service skills he picked up there fueled his desire to join the U-Haul dealer network. Marsh’s familiarity with what goes on behind a successful business has helped him handle the added business U-Haul has brought in the last few months.
Prior to J&G Enterprises, Marsh was a line haul driver and regularly made 300-mile trips during the winter.
“I would start to drive home and see my life fly by on the highway,” Marsh explained. “It was time for a change.”
Wasilla remains a fairly remote location. Marsh said the 300-mile trip locals take to Canada has one gas station and limited cell-phone coverage. When customers have gotten stranded on the highway, particularly in the dangerous temperatures of winter, Marsh has gone out of his way to make sure they stay safe.
“If I’m within an hour, I’ll personally go to help them,” he said. When Marsh has been too far away, he has directed roadside assistance and police to the location.
Marsh and Banner plan to add satellite phone rentals to J&G Enterprises so customers will have an additional safety option. There also are plans to add an auto shop where the focus will be on hitch installations and light maintenance.
“I like to do the dirty, outside stuff,” Marsh said. “Dixie books them and I hook them!”
U-Haul and J&G Enterprises are striving to benefit the environment through sustainability initiatives. Truck sharing is a core U-Haul sustainability business practice that allows individuals to access a fleet of trucks that is larger than what they could access on an individual basis.
Every U-Haul truck placed in a community helps keep 19 personally owned large-capacity vehicles, pickups, SUVs and vans off the road. Fewer vehicles means less traffic congestion, less pollution, less fuel burned and cleaner air.
J&G Enterprises is a great place to become U-Haul Famous. Take your picture in front of a U-Haul product and your face could land on the side of a U-Haul truck. Upload your photo through Instagram using #uhaulfamous, or go to www.uhaulfamous.com to submit your photos and learn more.
