National Guardsman Grows American Moving & Storage with U-Haul
LYNCHBURG, VA. (May 1, 2015) – When Jeremy Million was serving as a medic for the National Guard, he took on a side job in the moving and storage industry. And when his contract with the U.S. Army was up, Million bought a healthy piece of land and built his own self-storage facility.
American Moving & Storage has been in high demand since opening in 2013. That demand is even stronger now with Million’s decision to make his 1610 Waterlick Road location a U-Haul® neighborhood dealership.
The Lynchburg community can find U-Haul trucks, trailers, towing equipment, support rental items, boxes and much more at American Moving & Storage. Hours of operation are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday with after-hours drop-off available for U-Haul customers.

U-Haul customer traffic has brought in a handful of new storage customers to American Moving & Storage, which is in expansion mode.
“We’ve been pretty much full for the last (several) months, so this spring we’re adding 30 more units to combat the surge of traffic,” Million said recently.
American Moving & Storage is six miles up Highway 460 from Liberty University, which brings college students looking for U-Haul trucks and moving supplies.
Million attended Liberty University and even when he was serving with the National Guard, he resided in Lynchburg.
“I wanted to be in the infantry,” Million said. “But it turns out I’m partially colorblind, so my choices were limited. I wanted to serve any way I could, so I ended up taking EMT courses and became a medic instead.”
Working as a medic taught Million a lot about himself and his goals, and now he proudly owns his own successful business. Whether you need a 10x20 storage unit or a U-Haul rental, the team at American Moving & Storage has you covered.
U-Haul and American Moving & Storage are striving to benefit the environment through sustainability initiatives. Truck sharing is a core U-Haul sustainability business practice that allows individuals to access a fleet of trucks that is larger than what they could access on an individual basis.
Every U-Haul truck placed in a community helps keep 19 personally owned large-capacity vehicles, pickups, SUVs and vans off the road. Fewer vehicles means less traffic congestion, less pollution, less fuel burned and cleaner air.
American Moving & Storage is a great place to become U-Haul Famous. Take your picture in front of a U-Haul product, send it in and your face could land on the side of a U-Haul truck.
