East Bethel Storage Cashes In with New U-Haul Business

EAST BETHEL, MINN. (June 4, 2015) – Larry Merhiy and his son, Jason, have been working together for 20 years.

Since their main business is online coin auctions, the two have found time to operate East Bethel Storage and run a local U-Haul® neighborhood dealership. East Bethel Storage recently brought U-Haul trucks, trailers and support rental items and more to Anoka County.

Conveniently located on a major road at 21217 Highway 65 NE, East Bethel Storage is hard to miss. Hours of operation are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

The Merhiys’ primary business is BidALot Coin Auction, and the two spend most days handling collectable coins and the online auctions that go along with it.

“We network with other coin dealers and go to coin shows,” Jason explained. “Currency, gold and silver are our main focus and East Bethel Storage has been something we can do on the side to keep busy.”

Jason and Larry have worked together on everything from flipping properties to opening antique malls.

“You can’t stick with the same thing forever,” Jason said. “That’s why we added U-Haul. It’s something I can handle on the side and something that keeps people coming to East Bethel Storage.”

U-Haul trucks and trailers at East Bethel Storage are always visible. In fact, Jason has a part-time gig plowing snow in the icy Minnesota winters, so he’s equipped to clear a path off the lot for his customers’ rental equipment.

U-Haul and East Bethel Storage are striving to benefit the environment through sustainability initiatives. Truck sharing is a core U-Haul sustainability business practice that allows individuals to access a fleet of trucks that is larger than what they could access on an individual basis.

Every U-Haul truck placed in a community helps keep 19 personally owned large-capacity vehicles, pickups, SUVs and vans off the road. Fewer vehicles means less traffic congestion, less pollution, less fuel burned and cleaner air.

East Bethel Storage is also a great place to become U-Haul Famous. Take your picture in front of a U-Haul product, send it in and your face could land on the side of a U-Haul truck.
