Affordable Auto & Outdoor Storage opened in 1998 after many of the local mills closed. “Back in the late ’90s, the mills started shutting down,” Jacqueline said. “We struck out on our own.”
The Delgado Figuereos’ decision to add U-Haul was based not only on the desire to attract new clientele, but to serve the community while having an aspect of the business that was easy to manage. Jacqueline noted that immediately after completing their partnership with U-Haul, the inquiries began.
“It wasn’t even an hour later that we had a customer,” she said. “We noticed that it could be a source of bringing in new faces.”
Jacqueline not only works alongside her husband at Affordable Auto & Outdoor Storage but she makes the time to home-school their children, Luis, 16, and Rebecca, 12.
