Moving Tips to Fort Collins, CO

Fort Collins is a major part of history; it was founded in 1864 and was originally used as a military outpost for the U.S. Army. In addition to that, the town’s design was a primary inspiration for the main entrance to many of The Walt Disney Company’s parks around the world. These days Fort Collins is centered around Colorado State University. This means there are many school-term housing leases and a young, college atmosphere. This college-based town is also home to a number of microbreweries, including the New Belgium Brewing Company, the Odell Brewing Company, the Fort Collins Brewery and many more. Notably, the New Belgium Brewing Company is the third-largest craft brewery in the United States and is completely powered by wind energy. To follow suit, a local project called FortZED is becoming the largest zero energy district in the world. This project focuses on renewable energy and includes Downtown Fort Collins and the University area. The city is also home to many festivals and activities. It hosts exciting events like the annual Colorado Marathon, which prides itself in being “America’s Most Scenic Course,” and the Fort Collins Symphony Orchestra, which frequently draws in Broadway acts. These attractions are made even more enjoyable due to the weather. The residents of Fort Collins do not experience a wide array of extreme temperatures. While there are four distinct seasons, the average temperatures range between 29 °F in winter to 71 °F in summer. Each year the city experiences 300 days of sunshine and very minimal humidity. All things considered, Fort Collins can be a fantastic place to call home.
