I have always used U-Haul for my moving needs so naturally it was my go to for this move. I made my reservation online which was super smooth and easy. The morning of the move, I went to pick up the truck at 5108 South Blvd. and I waited in the store for about 10-15 minutes before an employee entered the store. A man named Vincent Madison started to assist me with my order but was extremely rude and unprofessional to me from the start. I was quoted $66.96 but he was trying to charge my card $80.55 and when I questioned that charge, he in a very mean tone said that it was because I was paying with debit and that I needed to just continue through the process. When I asked if I could pay with a credit card so that I would only have to pay the $66.96 quoted, he got upset and refused to reserve the transaction and insisted that I still needed to continue through with the debit card and that he would then be able to make the correction. I stated that I didn’t feel comfortable doing that because it would charge my card and he said it would not so I proceeded. Well it did charge my debit card so when I expressed concern about that he became hostile toward me which made me extremely uncomfortable. I then proceeded to do the walk through of the truck and was told to look for the equipment number that was on my paper work that matched with the number on the truck. Well I walked through all the trucks and couldn’t find matching numbers so I went back to Vincent Madison (he was the only person in the store) for assistance. He acted very put off by me needing his assistance and then said look right there is the truck, right in front of you like I said. I then had to point out to him that the numbers on that truck or any other truck out there didn’t match the number on my paper work. He rudely snatched the paper work out of my hands and then saw for himself the error and instead that “they wrote the wrong number on here”. I don’t know who they is considering he was the only person I interacted with but he didn’t even apologize for being rude, when it was clearly not my fault. I was just really surprised by such blunt disrespect for a customer and unwarranted rudeness. The equipment worked fine and when I returned the truck I mentioned my poor treatment to the man checking me in and he was super nice and apologetic. I don’t think Vincent Madison should be working in customer service as he is a poor representation for U-Haul and when I need a truck again I will definitely not go to that store and may even rethink the company that I use.

The van I was given smelled of pet urine. I was using it to pick up new furniture for my home, so the smell was unfortunate and disappointing. Another thing that I found to be poor customer service was after checking the fuel level before checking out, I found it was not at the level that was stated, and when I mentioned it to the person checking me out his response was as if it was my problem and he would "reverify" it but it could take some time as their other guy was backed up...really? I found it poor service that he couldn't walk outside for one minute and check it....like I just did? I didn't have time to wait and didn't appreciate his attitude that I was inconveniencing him when it was his truck not showing the correct fuel amount. Is that my fault? I brought it back at the fuel level I received it and they barely looked at it...seems like how it gets missed in the first place. Not impressive.

CSR needs to explain and correct insurance procedures..I took insurance when I didn't need or want it...But I paid for it anyway..... The CSR at turn in was excellent, even she was by herself...

Had 4 hour limit with rental and it took over a half hour to check me out. They never put the fully or pads in truck and wasted another hour of move time. Got everything done on time but I was rushed and severely inconvenienced. They ran around like they had no clue what was going on. I feel like I was unfairly charged for my experience.

I advised the drop off location that the oil light remains on, and that the unit over heats on the gauge each time you start the vehicle off for the first 7-8 minutes. Once you pull over it goes away. I have check the actual coolant temperature and it is NOT over-heating yet the light comes on and there is plenty of anti-freeze. I told them not to send this unit out due to the oil light and over heating issue and they said well that's not up to them and moved on! THIS HAS BEEN A DISASTER. CHRIS 216-469-7474

Tongue length on 6x12 trailer is much longer than needed if not pulling behind a U Haul truck. It should be instructed to the renter that this trailer does not track directly behind the vehicle. Therefore, the option of the 5x10 should be given.

I beg that you increase the level of professionalism, and basic politeness of your customer facing employees. The gentleman who leased my truck was the most rude and disrespectful person I've ever encountered as a customer. I couldn't believe his name tag said he'd been with the company for 10 years and a manager. Moving,especially out of state, is a very stressful time so to be treated with such disrespect was inescusable . I would never recommend the uhaul location on South blvd in Charlotte,NC.

Have more than one person working behind the desk on weekends. I waited over 45 minutes in line on a Saturday morning with only several people in front of me. The person behind the desk did a great job but it is a lot for one person to handle on a busy Saturday
