I made a reservation for a u-haul truck and car transport service 2 weeks prior to my journey. I had to deal with three uhaul locations just to get all my equipment together so I can leave on my planned date. These locations caused me so much grief and undue stress the day before and the day of my move because of their mismanagement and disorganization.
The first location at 2575 Haines Rd, Mississauga confirmed up to two days before the pick-up date that the truck and the auto transport was ready and available in Mississauga. One day before the pick up date, they called to say that I had to go to Brampton with my fully loaded truck to get the auto transport.
On the date of pick up, I drove 20 miles out of the way to the second location at 152 E Drive, Brampton. There after 15 minutes of waiting, they told me that in spite of my vehicle model being available to them for 2 weeks, they did not have the correctly rated AT for my vehicle on their premises. This second location told us to drive with our loaded truck to their third U-haul location 8 miles away at 411 Main St. North, Brampton to pick up the correct AT.
Yet again, inspite of calling ahead and due to their mismanagement, after we got to the 411 Main St North location, a young female staff told me they did not have any brake wires available for the AT that they had on their premises and further there was nothing else she could do and "they had to close for the day" so we should GO HOME! How dare they expect me to change my plans after I reserved everything ahead of time. I had packed my belongings into this truck and checked out of my residence- what HOME do they expect me to go to?! When I expressed my concerns to her, she rudely walked away and said she doesn't know what to do and took another customer without resolving my problem while I stood stranded in their store. She was extremely unhelpful and extremely unapologetic. Finally,I HAD TO VOLUNTEER to get the necessary wire from the second location [8 miles back]. Nobody from the location stepped up to get the wire and resolve the issue. Instead of them planning, preparing and having the necessary equipment for the customer, they left me stranded and having to figure out on my own how they SHOULD DO THEIR OWN JOB. The thing common about these locations was that they were all ready to point fingers at each other instead of resolving the problem for me.
After all said and done, by the time I got to my destination, the straps holding down the car wheels had come off - it was improperly installed by the U-haul technician at 411 Main Street, Brampton. The brake light wire which I went out of my way to pick up, did not work ! If not for two chains holding down my car, my car would have flown off and killed me or someone else!
The customer is not responsible for running errands for U-haul. All the information was provided 2 weeks ahead of the required pickup date. Besides the extreme inconveniences they put me through, and 5

This was my first experience with Uhaul and it was extremely stress free. The truck was almost new, clean and the staff was very professional I would definitely use them again.m

100% improvement from last experience. The wiring connectors are now with the times and the maintenance has improved. Just be aware that the trucks with a flat frontage are very susceptible to wandering due to head and cross-winds. Also more attention should be paid to truck front wheel alignment which would help this issue. Otherwise, happy. Would rent again.

This was my first and last experience with Uhaul. Your company is terrible when it comes to customer service. I booked my uhaul 2 weeks in advance to be picked up in Mississauga on Hurontario at a gas bar. On the morning of the pickup I was told that they had changed my pickup location to Etobicoke (that's a different city!) the gas bar location was dirty and disgusting and I wasn't too happy when they told me that they had called me the day before and spoke with me about the location change (complete lie). Then I called Uhaul customer service, I was transferred 4 times (no one informs you that they're passing the buck to some other person and have to repeat yourself every time) until finally I was told that I could pick one up in Brampton (again, a different city) but since I wanted brakes on it I'd have to pay more for the 6 x 12. Your company is horrible, I will never use Uhaul again EVER. I actually am shocked that you're in business.

Build in a buffer of a spare vehicle or two. If you say there will be a pickup truck available at 3pm, please don't tell me when I get there that the other customer hasn't returned it yet, and make me have to take the cargo van instead.

After receiving my contract I was asked to go outside and wait for a staff member to assist with getting the trailer and hooking it up to my car's hitch. After 10 minutes of standing in the rain and nobody coming out to help I used the contract to determine which trailer was allotted to me. I dragged it over to my car and hooked it up myself! I even went back inside to tell the lady behind the counter who told her boss and still nobody came out to help. I hooked up the lights to make sure they worked and tightened the ball pinch and left! someone did help when returning the trailer ut by that time I was ready to not be around there.

I believe I was over charged for gas. A 1/4 of a tank cost more then my rental which was about $80.

The female clerk was very knowledgeable but rude and abrupt - should give refresher customer service classes.
The truck cab was clean but the storage area was very dusty - should spray wash once in a while.

As soon as I rented the vehicle I had to put gas in it. Then I received my invoice and noticed $90 for fuel charges which took multiple phone calls to get removed. $30 was for a "Fill up Fee", yet as soon I rented the vehicle I was forced to fill it with gas, and on top of that they tried to charge $1.50/litre. Poor customer service in general and very old 26 foot truck with a fuel gauge that barely works.
