I will never use U-haul again. I received the worst customer service I have ever had the pleasure of receiving. It started with my reservation online. Please take note at checkout, it states with no link to details or anything "When you make a reservation, we guarantee to provide you with the equipment size, location, and pick up time as agreed. Should you not receive the equipment size, location, and pick up time you agreed to, U-Haul will compensate you $50. " I also selected I preferred to be contacted by text. A week later, I get my call the night before I move, while I am at work. I asked for a text message, but whatever. The man says he is confirming I wanted a 10 foot truck, I said no, I reserved a 15 foot. He told me they did not have a 15 foot truck. Firstly, how is this an acceptable way to break this news? By trying to deceive the customer? Seems to be a common theme with this company. After some arguing, and him poorly explaining why I was unable to get this truck that I reserved, I hung up. I was upset, so I went online because I thought I seen that guarantee. It was there, so I called back, to be transferred three times, to be told this doesn't apply to me. How? Well if you search the site for "guarantee", and look at line X, it says blah blah blah. What shitty, shitty, shady, crap is this? He then told me it was my fault for not reserving a few months in advance! Firstly, I didn't know I was moving then, as I just got a new job, secondly, by this logic, it wouldn't have mattered anyway because they can change what the fuck they want whenever they want anyway, so the same thing would happen next time. When I arrived for pickup, this is the 2nd time I have used U-haul, and it was the same both times. Some of the most unfriendly customer service I have ever seen. These people look like they are a second from jumping in front of a bus, and treat you the same. After venting my frustrations, they just continued on with their spiel as if they couldn't give less of a shit. Finally when I took my truck, the employee quietly told me he heard me, apologized, and told me to vent in the survey. In my entire experience, he was the ONLY person to make me feel even remotely like they valued my business. U-haul is the shadiest, worst excuse for a company I have ever seen. Business students should be made to reserve a truck to learn how to NOT handle customer service. Survey's in my experience don't do anything, and go to some intern for a giggle, I expect no different from this poor excuse for a business. Fuck you u-haul.

Was given a direct quote on pricing of 100$ deposit and will get money back when the truck was returned. Went to pay and was told 123$ upfront . Now I'm being told additional 100$ is owed . We told the agent at the desk at the time of pickup 80kms is what we planned on using maybe less and she gave me the price of 123$ for the two day usage and mileage . First quote I got was 100$. Second was 123$ . Now I'm being told I owe additional 97$ . This is bullshit . And false information that was given to me at time of pickup... I picked up the truck late around 6pm and was told to drop it off by 6pm Monday . Dropped the truck off a little after 6pm Monday by the time we got through traffic. I think those extra 97$ expense should be waived due to false information given by your clerk !

I received wonderful service at drop off and because of the condition the truck was in and the seriousness of the situation I was not charged for the extra days I had the truck with their appologies for my trauma I experienced traveling with the truck, over all I would use the service again, but would be overly cautions of the condition the truck is in.

Improve your reservation system! I booked a one way truck rental about 2-3 wks prior with an agent over the phone. It was for a one way rental for a 10ft truck..to pick up in Fredericton and drop back to Moncton. The day before I received a call from "TRAFFIC" in Dartmouth advising they did not have any 10ft trucks available but could give me a 26ft truck. That was much too big for our needs and we did not feel confortable with such a big vehicle. There was nothing else he could offer for the one way so I asked if there were 10ft trucks available to pick up in Moncton. Well yes but it had to be returned to Moncton and double the mileage. I said we had been quoted 281 free km on the original one way rental and because UHaul does not have the right size truck avail for us in Fredericton we should not have to pay for the excess mileage. I had to fight to get them to agree to waive the extra mileage charges. When we picked up the 10ft truck the next morning their was only one agent working the desk and the person ahead of us accidentally picked out the wrong size so they were busy re-doing all the paperwork. Then the agent gave us the wrong truck and we had to redo all the paper work. It took us 45 minutes to get the vehicle and get on the road. Then when we returned the truck 6hrs later..hot and tired.. the cost quoted to me 6hrs prior had gone up by 200.00. After 45min of argueing about it the depot finally reached someone in "TRAFFIC" and we got everything sorted out, It was a very fustrating experience. The truck itself was clean and in good working order, no complaints there, but the reservation system and ckin and dropoff service are quite lacking! If someone is confirmed a size of truck and you can not fullfill that requirement then you need to be willing to work with the client to FIX the problem to your clients satisfaction. Apparently 10ft trucks are not easy to come by in Fredericton. And your ckin and dropoff should NOT take 45 minutes each time. The sad thing is that 3 years ago we had much the same happen...we were confirmed one size of trailer and then when we went to pick it up were advised there was none avail and ended up with something way too small. Two experiences with UHaul and both were fustrating. Nothing wrong with the product and the staff are polite and friendly but your res system totally SUCKS!

I had no issues with the equipment or rental, however I had an issue afterwards when I had left my only house key in the U-Haul cup holder and forgot to get it when I dropped it off. After realizing this, I called the location back 10 minutes before closing. I was told that the person whom I had dropped the truck off to said there was no key found during the post-rental inspection, and that the truck had since been re-rented but that they would call the person who rented it to see if they could find the key. I got a call back saying they had reached the current renter of the truck but that no key was found. The lack of empathy or suggestions from the girl I spoke with at this U-HAUL location left a lot to be desired. What made it worse was today I got a call saying the truck had been returned and my key was "found". A bit too late after having to get my locks drilled and replaced so I could get into my home. While I take full responsibility for leaving my house key in the truck, it was not discovered by the u-haul employee after I dropped it off and the employee that I spoke with on the phone either lied to me and didn't actually speak to the current renter or didn't think my request serious enough to insist that the current renter check for the key. Again, equipment was good, prices fair, but customer service could use some work.

The people who work there don't seem to care about there job, and I was told there wouldn't be a trailer for the day that I was moving ( which was over 3 weeks before the day I was moving and said you might want to look somewhere else so I ended up calling the main UHAUL line and talked to a guy there and I had to set up for my trailer that way. This is the first UHAUL place I have ever had problems with and would never deal with them again

Customer service lady very thourough but far too slow! It might be good idea to ensure you have more people at the main desk if this I'd the case. Took me 40 minutes to get the van. I was in a queue of two.

I called to inquire about a Uhaul for this location and I asked for a service in french, the clerk advised me to call the spanish line. It was really disrespectfull and bad taste. Is name was Ryan. I ended up reserving on the toll free number.

My son drove that truck approx 110 km. During that time he put 50.00 of gas in vehickle. The unit needed to be returned at 9 am Sunday and the store was kind enough to give us the same price as for a van. When truck was returned, my son asked the service man if the gas was ok only to be told he was too busy. Shortly after that I was charged a 30.00 fill up fee for 21.00 worth of gas. That was a charge of over 50.00 and my credit card is still showing a pending debit for the same ammount. I called on Sunday asking to speak to a manager. I called again today and again asked to speak to a manager. I related this stort to a service rep and the phone suddenly became disconected. I immediately called back and again asked to speak to a manager. Again I was unsuccessful and I had to go through the entire story again. The second rep said I must have been talking to a call center but I called the store on West Main St. Moncton. I find it unacceptable that a customer is unable to speak to a manager seemingly under any circumstances. I feel I was overcharged for gas. Had anyone been available that gas would have been paid for by us. Seems like this may be some kind of ploy.Currently my credit card is showing full payment of 101.00 for truck rental and 54.00 plus for gas. Today there is a pending debit for 54.40 for u-haul. I am not a happy mover.

I have used this location numerous times in the past, and the experience was usually a painful one. However, this time, it was not. The representative at the counter by the name of Jocelyn was by far the most knowledgeable, friendly, quick, courteous and comprehensive representative that I've dealt with. And the yard employee was also quick and very courteous.
