I have been using U-Haul at this location for many years and this is the first time I had a negative experience, but it was a doozy. Truck reeked of cigarette smoke from an ashtray that had not even been cleaned and the inside windows were covered with a greasy, smeary film from the cigarette smoke. I'm not sure the age of the vehicle, but it seemed ancient-cracked seats, crank windows, old-fashioned, hard-to-find and harder to read controls. The brake pedal would go all the way to the floor. WORST was that the odometer reading was wrong-something I ALWAYS check before leaving. But it was pitch black outside, I was having a hard time reading the smallish display, no one had come out with me before asking me to sign off on it, and I was dog tired. Having never had a negative experience here before, I did not double-check it. Upon return I was asked to pay for an additional 20+ miles. Since this was a simple trip -- point A (U-Haul) to point B (my home close by) to point C (nearby storage facility) to point D (return to U-Haul), it was very easy for me to track my mileage. The manager I spoke to upon my return was the same manager who was there the night before when I picked up the truck, so naturally he was not inclined to see my rental pick up experience as flawed. I have filed a complaint with U-Haul Customer Service, so we will see....

I returned the rental truck 30 minutes late was charged for an entire extra day. Although this may be the policy, the staff was not understanding or interested in discussing. U-Haul has now lost a customer over $30 -- smart business decision!

Not location specific but the truck recommended for a 2 BR apartment was much too small. We basically had to get rid of a room's worth of furniture.

I was inappropriately charged for gas after the truck was returned and have placed numerous calls to speak with management about my concerns, never to have them returned.

No complaints. I reserved the vehicle prior to going to site so the process was easy after arriving. Vehicle was in great condition and location was convenient.

I rented and drove a 14' truck for 15.5 miles. 15.5 It cost me ~$50.00. That is over-priced. Significantly so!!

I first went to your Schodack location to rent. This was a disaster and I will never go there again. Uhaul in Albany is the best. Uhaul should remove their location in Schodack, it is useless.

Clarify the drop off date/time, the e-mail I had received stated one time the final contract a different time. The personnel at the drop off site insured that I was only charged for the time used not for another full day due to the difference in times on the contract and the e-mail for the rental. As there was a 4 hour difference and I was an hour and a half late according to the contract from the start point. I wasn't made aware of this difference at the starting point.

From beginning to en, my U-Haul experience went easily and flawlessly. I want to thank Albany's Broadway U-Haul team for a job well done on a busy day.

Have more reps available to cut down on wait times, especially for people who had prearranged reservations. Hire smart, professional looking staff. Update your computer systems and hardware.

I called 4 times to complain about the smell of the trailer they rented me, the trailer smelled of vomit and fish! I had to clean the trailer out myself and it only temporarily covered the smell. I still haven't heard from the manager who has been left messages to call me. This makes me madder than the smell did!

The rental equipment was fine. Watch the charges on your bill, though. I was charged $14 for rental insurance which I declined. On the receipt I received electronically there was an $18 charge for rental insurance. I also declined the voluntary donation however $1 was added to my bill anyway. Feeling abused!!

I had a problem with being charged for 2 days when it should have only been 1.The difference was still not refunded to my account.

They ripped me off on gas, couldn't find my receipt in the system and then gave me an estimate instead of my receipt, not listing the mileage. I won't use uhaul again. Terrible costumer service.

The person who waited on us was extremely helpful and very pleasant--the only negative thing to report is that the location is difficult to find from the highway. Other than that, we were very impressed with the quality of service we received in Albany!

Train your employees on customer service. I rented a vehicle tow trailer at 7am and I was told when I picked it up that I have 24hrs to drop it off. I received a call at 430pm. From uhauls broadway albany ny asking about the vehicle tow trailer. I told the guy im on the road now I wiko droo it off withing the next hour or two.. the employee all of a suden tone of voice changes and tells me there are Customers waiting for the trailer . I told him I have the trailer until 7am technicaly I dont have to droo it off until 7am he preceded to get loud and told me that I will have another daily charge onto my credit card since I did not have the trailer in by 4pm. When I was told 7am was my droo of time. If your employees cannot control there temper or cannot handle the stress that comes with there job then they need to find a new career.....

Hire better employees. In the service industry, such as the one UHaul is a part, helping every customer efficiently and effectively are primary goals. The gentleman who helped me was great; however, when he called to his colleagues to help the next customers-there was a bit of a line now-they just shirked him off and continued watching whatever was playing on their phones. After a second time being asked to help the next customers, they got up and went outside rather than help the people behind me. That is not good customer service.
