The rubber rails for tie ins on the passenger side was partly hanging down and not attached anymore so we could not use that tie down in the middle. Other than that, we only had to sweep it out and wipe it all down as it was wet and dirty.

We had terrible trouble filling the truck with gas. It just wouldn't accept gas! The personnel wasn't helpful AT ALL. They just said that if I didn't turn it in full then I'd be charged $5.50 per gallon plus a service fee, even tho I had tried to fill it and it was something wrong with the truck, not my fault. Terrible customer service, will probably look into renting a different truck rental service next time now.

I booked on line. I picked a location 1 mile from my home to pick up. Reservation was made 4 weeks ahead of time. The day before I was to pick up I received information to pick up 15 miles away. I called customer service about this and they said that happens. I don't think an option should be given as to where you want to pick up rental equipment if one can't pick it up there. I liked that I could pre register on line so it didn't take long getting in to pick up the truck we reserved. Every person I spook was considerate. Truck was nice in good condition.

The lady working the counter when we picked up the truck was not very helpful on questions we had, acted like we were bothering her when asked a question. We had decided to rent a car dolly also and she was very unhelpful in trying to locate one. The person at the Roscoe, IL uhaul rental facility was more than willing to help us locate one and did.

Have a nav system, because it's waay across Janesvill from the southbound exit of I39. There's a gas station directly across the street, or right next door to avoid getting dinged $4/gal to match pickup amount.

Serve customers on a first come first served basis, especially those with reservations over walk-ins - it was frustrating waiting at the counter to pick-up my vehicle while customers who came in after me and were just purchasing boxes were served first.

Some of the staff aren't very friendly or hard working. This is a shame as the work falls on the same few hard workers. It was unfortunate that there is no way to remove a mileage charge if a customer has to drive 35 minutes to get equipment that is mysteriously unavailable anywhere locally.

I have rented from this location several times over the last 22 years. The location is very convenient for me but it is consistently understaffed or staffed with employees not trained to work the counter. I would suggest having more than one trained person at the counter during peak check in and check out times.

Requested a call if a trailer came in earlier than my pick up time which the representative said she would do by putting a note on it but I never received a call and trailers were sitting in the lot when I arrived half hour early. Would recommend that they follow up when they promise a call to you on availability.

Train your employees on basic customer service. Train them to let the customer know that each employee is there to assist the customer with their move and they will help solve their problem even if the computer shows an additional charge for mileage that the customer did not drive, the employee will help the customer get to the bottom of it in a friendly and helpful manner not in a hostile let's argue about who is right type manner. Remind your employees that without customers like me you don't have a business. I am the boss. I write out their paycheck. I deserve respect and deserve to be listened to and understood. I just used your equipment to haul, load, drive and unload and drive to your location on a blazing hot sunny day. I am exhausted. All I want is a quick checkout and to get home and relax. I don't want or need an untrained, unprofessional employee telling me how he is right and I am wrong and I owe an additional $60 for 149 miles that I did not drive. If it is your system and your company that made the mistake then take ownership of the issue and fix it and call me when it's done and tell me that you took care it. As a customer I don't care that each location is independently owned. I view it as U-Haul. If one location needs to call another location to clear up a mistake or an issue, it is your company's responsibility to put processes in place to take care of it. This is my first negative experience with renting from U-Haul.

The woman who checked me in was not the best in customer service as far as friendliness. She seemed to be extremely unhappy with her job and although she knew how to make the process quick, she lacked in making me feel welcome as a customer.

Make sure your employees know the job. When I reserved the uhaul the I asked the girl if we returned it early if we could get a refund and she said if we returned to Janesville we could. When I attempted to do just that I was told no refund. Also, my husband didn't add insurance, but when I called back within the 30 minutes required I was told I couldn't get the insurance because uhaul had put me on hold so I no longer was within the 30 minutes. Moving is a stressful time and since I had such a poor experience with Janesville uhaul it just added to the stress. After I had reserved the uhaul someone heard that we were getting it from this Janesville location and they said good luck because their experience wasn't good either, I should have cancelled at that moment!
