Unfortunately, the customer service was very poor. The clerk was not friendly. He tossed the paperwork toward us on the counter. He did not show us where to go to pick up our rental truck. We ended up going around the entire building because he said it was around to the right and it was actually just around to the left. He also did not explain how to return the rental at all.

I was very disappointed. I had made 3(three), phone calls on three separate occasions, to clarified,that they would hook up the tow dolly and secure my car onto the tow dolly. When I got to Uhaul and got all the paper work finished, the employee, came out put my ball hitch on, told me to pull my RV, ahead and told me to read the instructions, on the tow dolly to get my car loaded. I told him I was told 3 times, that he would load and secure my car on the tow dolly, he said he had another customer so he couldn't do it, and walked away. I read the instructions but knew I wasn't capable. So my friend went back into the Uhaul, and got the employee. He came out put on the straps and chains. I got to Sellersburg,Indiana, and noticed, the car was not strapped on one side and the chain had come off. I called Road side assistance to let them know that got Grease Monkey to come out 5 and half hours later. The Grease Monkey's, saw the damage told me to take pictures. There is damage to the left side of my car under the door, and the panel is bent up, from the car shifting and then resting on the bumper of the tow dolly. The Grease Monkey's, told me they would fill out the report and they would back me, because the Uhaul employee did not do his job. I got back on the road, 6 hours later. Finally reaching my destination, Birmingham, AL,I noticed a Uhaul closer, to where I was staying,so I called the location,where I was told to drop off the tow dolly, asked if I could drop it off at the closer loation was told that was not a problem. I went to Uhaul on Carson Rd,in Fultondale,AL,dropped off the tow dolly. I went back to where I was staying, 5 miles down the road, totally hooked up my RV to water,sewer, and eletrcity, got settled insides received a phone call, couple hours later stating that I had two choices, either come back and pick up the tow dolly and take it to original drop off or I would be charged another 114.00 dollars. I told him that I had called the original location and they told me I could drop it off there he said he called his manager, and his manager said I could not drop it off there without an additional 114.00 dollars. So I unhooked my RV to everything and went and picked up the tow dolly, and took it to the original location, 9 miles away. When I got there the lady asked me why did I bring it there and not at the Carson Rd, location? Told her what I was told by them. I am very disappointed, in the lack of service and the poor communication of Uhaul. The only positive is the service I reciecved from the Grease Monkey's. Please get back to me as soon as possible so I can get my car repaired. I would like to get a estimate from a body shop as Sinn as possible. Thank you

I have been calling g a few times today about a strap I left in the truck. The first time I called this morning was told someone would call me in a few mins. Just before 5:00pm I tried again to call someone about the strap I had forgot in the truck. Still no call from anyone. I will go tomorrow in person and see what happens...

The rental truck was very old and did not feel safe at highway speeds. The truck had over 160,000 miles on it. Also, the truck broke down at the gas station across the street from uhaul when trying to refuel the truck. I believe the alternator had gone bad as a jump from AAA gave us enough juice to drive across the street to the uhaul location. I'm not upset or angry, the customer service representatives were pleasant and helpful. However, isn't such an old vehicle a liability and likely to cause this type of issue for customers? Does uhaul have standard procedures for break downs beyond providing roadside assistance? I.e... sorry you were inconvenienced and here is a discount? Or credit towards a future rental? As I said, I'm not angry or upset. Mainly just disappointed with the experience.

When somebody picks up rental, have it ready. My son looked for the rental out back of business and couldn't find it, asked a woman who was out back with another customer where it was, found it, but it was behind another rental truck which somebody had to come and move it so we could leave. Have rentals ready and out front for easy access.
