A very good experience. I would like a total of estimated charges on the contract when I make the reservation. It was hard to calculate the cost and a different rate (albeit cheaper!) was applied when I picked up the van.

I was dismayed to find that my pickup location had changed when I went to pick up the truck in Littleton. When I made the reservation I told them to call because my computer is down. It was a major inconvenience and in the future I will investigate other options instead of going right to UHaul as I've done in the past.

I am filing an objection with U-HAUL for incorrect rental charge. I made reservations in Ayer to rent a 10' truck on 8/9/14. I was told to pick up the truck in Westford due to no trucks available in Shirley/Ayer area. I asked the Ayer dealer if I could return the truck to Ayer and he said probably but would have to ask the dealer in Westford when I picked up the truck. Nothing was said about a 1 way charge. On 8/9/14 I picked up the truck in Westford and asked the dealer if I could return the truck to Ayer because it's closer to the area I was moving to. The dealer said I could but it would be easier if I returned it to Westford. The dealer said nothing about a 1 way charge. My checking account was charged $95.04 for estimate of 50 miles. My account was also charged $158.69 which brings the net total to $253.73.The actual miles was 57 so I would expect to pay that difference but I didn't understand the additional charge. I contacted U-Haul and I was told I was billed for the 1 way charge of $106 x 2 = 212 + insurance, blankets, taxes, etc. The contract displays the mileage in and out with a mileage rate of .40 x 30. which makes no sense because no one has told me how many miles I was allowed for the 1 way. I feel that I should only have to pay the initial cost of the rental of the truck and the 57 miles with the other fees mentioned above. I asked about returning the truck to Ayer at both dealers and no one explained to me about the additional charge. Please review and respond. Donna

The GM Savanna cargo van was terrific, an excellent and stable ride for my furniture. I would have benefited from explanation of its oddball lighting control, however.

My son could not access his storage unit when he got to the facility at 6:20 p.m. Sunday in Ayer, MA. The swipe card did not work. There was NO ONE to contact (he called UHAUL and was hung up on three times). I find this unacceptable. I have two storage units with UHAUL, and after this HORRIBLE TWO DAYS of moving, I am rethinking where I shall store my items AND rethinking using some other moving company from now on. I called UHAUL and they told me the manager from Ayer, MA (George) would call me and he NEVER DID. This huge inconvenience made us have to purchase a lock to lock the truck overnight on Sunday, and we had to pay for further help on Monday. This was an AWFUL experience, and the worst thing of all was not having a phone call returned by the manager of UHAUL. Debbie Stanton (978) 340-0212 - a LONG TIME CUSTOMER of UHaul until Sunday.

We showed up and no one was in the office. We looked around outside and tried calling the local office only to be transferred to national reservations. A cell phone number was listed but was no longer owned by the uhal owner. We called the national office again asking what to do. They had to call the regional office. I asked to cancel the reservation but was asked to holkd on. After nearly an hour, they wwere willing to cancel the reservation, and the office person showed up. He was in the back lot whichwas locked off to the public. He didn't seem to care and did not apologize. It was a terrible experience. Drop off was pleasant and easy. There was a person in the South Dennis office. I would recommend reviewing protocol for that location and/or recommend putting that office on probation. If I wasn't so desparate, I would have walked. I will not ever rent from that location again.

The lady that helped me in Ayer was outstanding. Even though she was pregnant, she went out of her way for me. She stayed about 5 minutes late, helped hook up the trailer, and was very nice. This was excellent as the Worcester office told me tough luck when I asked if they could give me 5 minutes to get there.

Did not have the correct auto transporter, but was able to use ratchet straps to make it work. Do not think I should have been charged for the ratchet straps, but I paid and was on my way.

The 6x12 trailer was very banged up and in need of repair. The pick-up was easy and it pulled well, but the fender flair had a massive tear in it and there were damage "Xs" all over the thing.

I reserved a 17' truck for 9 am and got a call the day before saying they had a 14' truck available at noon. This is ridiculous. It needs to be made much more clear that your needs may not be met. I won't use u-haul again. The staff at the location were very nice but it's unacceptable to me that our reservation got screwed up and we didn't find out until the day before moving houses. House moving is already stressful and usually needs to be a very coordinated effort. I had heard that this kind of thing happens but didn't realize how frequent it is. U-haul needs to fix this problem or at the very least give notice MUCH more in advance.

I'm very irritated that I marked "Leominster" on my rental and was moved to Ayer. The facility there was great, but it doesn't change the fact that it's not what I selected.
