Employee hooked up trailer and failed to ensure it was done correctly. I made it 50 feet out of the parking lot before the trailer came off the ball. This occurred on a downhill slope. I realized what happened and slowly applied the brakes. 2000 lbs of empty trailer slammed into the back of my vehicle. Luckily my vehicle did not suffer any damage. This is inexcusible!

This was the only U-Haul in the area that had sufficient inventory to fill my needs for a weekend move. They handled the application efficiently and rapidly. I rarely have a need to rent moving equipment and they made the experience almost enjoyable. Anyone who has ever moved family or friends knows exactly what I'm talking about!

1. Our original reservation was not honored. We were not give the 4x8 trailer as reserved, though there were ample trailers on the lot when we arrived. They were still on the lot, unmoved when we returned after our trip. 2. We checked 3 times on the reservation and each time the day and times were wrong. 3. We came to the site 2 days prior (Wednesday night 8/26) to have Uhaul check our vehicle to see what was needed to connect the trailer. The associate said nothing was needed. 4. We arrived Friday morning at 7:30. We were given a beat-up trailer that had patches on the top to keep it from leaking. I learned then that we could not hook-up the trailer. We needed a hitch adapter, a hitch pin, and a 2" ball. 5. We had to drive to a store to get the adapter and ball, connect the ball, and attach the hitch. 6. The associate said the lights weren't working and we couldn't take the trailer. He offered no assistance. My son scraped off the connectors with a stick and it worked. The associate Wednesday night and Friday morning were either inexperienced or incompetent. It seemed as though it was too much effort to help us out.

I originally made my reservation for a truck to pull my u-box through the Uhal call center along with the rest of my u-box reservations. There were multiple problems with my reservation when I picked-up my ubox in Florida, so I called ahead to the Spruce Hall location to make sure everything was correct and ready to go. However, when I arrived I was told I did not have a reservation for the truck and that my reservation was just for the u-box trailer.

I had a reservation for two days, which was not honored and had to return the truck after 7 hours. They will still charge 1-day rental despite renting the truck multiple times a day. When I asked for pro-rated day just got a terrible attitude from one of the employees . I will never use this company again!

Original pickup location was reserved for Spruce Hills. The day before pickup a U-Haul associate called to change the pickup location to 3031 Hickory Grove Road. My brother was dropped off at this location to pickup the moving truck. The moving truck would not start and the attendant explained to my brother that the mechanic had stepped out to lunch and he would have to wait for a ride. The mechanic never came back and my brother was forced to call an Uber to take him to the Spruce Hills location. It unfortunate that the moving truck was not properly examined upon arrival to the lot.

Tom and Nick were wonderful. They went above/beyond to help me get a truck that I would be comfortable driving but would hold my belongings. They answered all my questions and helped me with extra supuplies. They really provided efficient and very responsive service and I would look forward to working with them again if I had need for moving services.

I was wondering since I couldn't get ahold of your people at the store location and they gave me the number and I'd talked to another rep. that said there was no charge. And then got charged an extra two days on my bill, by the manager. Doesn't anyone talk to each other?

One tire was very underinflated (35 psi) and I did not catch it until I had driven away (the message on the dashboard dial is not easy to see). When I called to get a replacement truck, they would not/could not provide one of the same size (all the other trucks were "one way"). So I added air and had to monitor the tire for the entire trip. Did not make for a comfortable trip.

The person that checked me in was polite, another guy who was tasked to get the truck pulled around after I checked in was quite rude and tried to be intimidating. I was not advise at anytime that no cars could be left on site (no matter how brief) when I already had my rental check out. I was told I had to take both vehicles NOW. I explained this was not told me at check nor did I see it posted anywhere. I was told I needed to park blocks away before taking my rental or it would be towed...but both had to be taken now. After a brief talk with the guy he forcefully told me he'd give me 30 mins and that was it. No consequences told just I has 30 mins. I think thats rude and bad business to not make something of that nature known before check in and to conduct in that attitude. Yes the rate was low but so was the service. For me never again. I would rather spend more money and have a more positive professional experience.

I was supoosed to pick up my Rental 5 min awsy from my House , however it was changed at the last minute by you guys. I had to go clear accross town (30 min). I feel like I got taken advantage when I booked my truck 5 min away. I had to pay mileage. They also told me that my rental Would be from 7am-3pm, when I got there he said it was from 9am-3pm. I spoke to a Ryan (manager) at uhaul in spruce hills Bettendorf IowA, guy was really rude and had poor lcustomer service. Basically said he didn't care if I wanted to the rental it was outside waiting. Will never rent from Uhaul again.....

I reserved a 17 foot truck online, for hopefully eight hours. The confirmation email quoted a cost of $114, $30 for the truck, $15 for insurance, and the rest, I wrongly thought, for mileage, etc. I'd rented other places that weren't nearly that high (one, for similar mileage, was less than $100 two years ago, and yes, it was a national chain) but my friend who would be driving asked me to rent at that store because he'd have an easier time getting there from his home. I decided I was willing to pay it for the convenience. I got to the store, met my friend and we went in to take care of the paperwork. The reason for my friend driving was because my license expired and I had to jump through extra hoops to get it reinstated. I was shocked to be told that my debit card, which I had used to reserve the truck, had to match my unexpired license even though I had a licensed driver right there. I had seen nothing about THAT on the website. ANYWHERE. For my friend to drive, since he didn't have a credit card, he had to show his license and his car title (which he had to go home to get). We couldn't use mine; it had to be his. We also had to put down a $100 deposit. CASH. (Yeah, we all carry money like that around.) The rest would be due at the truck's return. Of course, there was some discrepancy between what the staff were telling us and what the "computer" said we had to leave as a deposit. Eventually that was straightened out. Then we were told, instead of $114, that the estimate was $180. That's a pretty significant difference, but I was over a barrel; I had people waiting for us. It took a full half hour to get checked out and assigned a truck. We were told to have it back before 5pm or we'd have to pay extra. It's standard for trucks to have to be returned at the same gas level as they were rented. However, I have never before rented a truck and had to gas it up before we could even leave town so we wouldn't run out on the way. That is NOT standard. The day was not going as well as hoped. We started out behind, but were catching up, even though four of us had to leave after the truck was loaded. We got stuff to one location and unloaded before another two had to leave. That left three of us to unload the rest into another storage building (which I had also reserved on line, regrettably). We got there to find the facility physically didn't have any units the size I reserved, so I had to arrange to go to a different one. By this time, it was 4pm, so my friend called the store and let them know the truck return would be late. For the first time all day, something went right; the person he talked to said that as long as the truck was back by 10am, we wouldn't be charged extra. We found the other facility and unloaded the truck. My friend had plans, so he left first to return the truck. As I was driving to my place, I got a call from him.
