I had a good, (not great), but good experience. The girl (csr), had a little bit of an attitude, rushed through the whole explaining what you were signing, but the truck was outside pulled up to the door before I walked outside, so that was good. Here's the main bad point, after I finished dropping the van back and as soon as I walked in my own door, there was a message claiming that the van was NOT RETURNED AND I TOLD THEM IT WOULD BE RENTED FOR ANOTHER 24HRS!! I called back and told the csr this was NOT the case and the van WAS returned. The csr did find the mistake, but my fears are still on high alert, and I will be checking my credit card and other statements, if they do not match up I will be calling the MA State Attorney's Office, and will pull the licence if necessary.

reservation was for 7AM; took 40 minutes to get van even though I had done everything on line beforehand. only one clerk for first 20 minutes. guy who brought me to van was great.

I was very disappointed to learn a few days before my rental that I could not pick up the equipment at the location I used for the reservation. When I asked the U-Haul rep I spoke with on the phone if they could move the equipment to the location that I wanted I was told no and that it is against U-Haul policy. I had to drive 30 minutes out of my way into downtown Boston to get the equipment because of this. Had I known this may happen up front, I would have been less upset. The staff at the pick up location were excellent and this was in no way there fault. Thank You, EB

Van worked fine. It's just the gimmick that occurs when you walk in and pay for your reservation. First of all, I had a reservation for 6pm, and they look at me like I have 2 heads..and they are on the radio frantically looking for a van that's available. I was 15 min. early, I don't understand why it is such chaos and why I feel like the asshole. Also when asking very simple questions to the cashier, they didn't seem to have any idea what I was talking about. I asked about gas.....pretty simple. U-haul advertises $19.95 for the van + mileage and vehicle insurance (optional) I was aware of these costs, and factored these in (I was only driving 6 miles total so it would be relatively low). However, a new customer is not aware until the VERY END of the transaction with the cashier, that no matter what the cost, an $80 deposit is charged, and you'll receive the difference as a credit 3-5 days later. Not like this was a financial problem for me personally, but it was surely a surprise and it's just so obvious how they sneak it in, as it's the very last sentence that leaves the cashiers mouth "oh and btw you'll be charged $80 deposit, and get the rest in an inconvenient amount of days. Thanks have a good night!" I mean S***...... The 9' van was great, really did the job for picking up furniture. But the service inside at this location was super frustrating and sleazy. I'll go to Home Depot across the street next time.

The people that work at the Mass Ave/South Bay location really seem to hate their job and they really don't hide that fact at all. I am sure they have to put up with a great deal, but it would be nice if the people that worked there appeared to be even remotely nice. The customer service skills are non-existent. Also, it would be nice if the customer notices scratches and things on the truck that maybe the staff wouldn't mind going over the condition of the truck before the customer left the lot. It was like pulling teeth to make sure that all of the cosmetic damage was noted before I took the truck. Lastly, it would be nice if the customers were refunded if they put way too much gas in the truck. The fact that there is no way to obtain a credit back for this seems wrong considering you definitely charge the customer if we do not put enough in.

I have used this location several times in the past month or so. The entire team has been helpful, respectful, and attentive to the max! Jessica, Jorge, and the rest of the crew have made all of my experiences great ones- even in the face of an issue (ie. My rental was vandalized while in my possession). Employees should check the trucks before entering info in the computer my card got charged for gas although I did put gas in the truck before returning it. Now I have to wait for 3 days for the funds to be released back to my account
