The experience I had with UHaul was terrible. I booked the Ubox about a month and a half in advance. I requested the Cambridge or Somerville locations. I then followed up to book a truck. I called back a few times to confirm. They kept dropping the fact that I reserved a truck (which is critical to moving the Ubox). I also wanted to confirm the pick-up and drop-off locations. I was told someone from Uhaul would call me a few days before my move to confirm the location. No one ever callled so I called. I confirmed Linwood Ave in Somerville. Then, the day before my move, I received an email & text confirming my reservation from the South Boston location. That location is very far from me. After having my call escalated to the manager (and he gave me a $50 credit) I confimed that I would pick up at the South Bostonl location but drop the Ubox at the Linwood Ave Somerville location. Everything was confirmed (again). When I arrive the next morning, they said that for some reason they cancelled my reservation. So, we sorted everything out and reconfirmed that I could drop the ubox off at the Linwood Ave location. When I got there, they had no idea I was coming. They told me to leave the box and that someone would send me a confirmed. I have called the location twice to request the confirmation -- I'm still waiting. In short, this whole experience was disappointing -- moving is hard enough. I would certainly not recommend this option to anyone moving.

It doesn't seem like there is proper communication between online reservation and rental location; for example, I ordered a sofa cover with the UHaul and tow dolly online, but there was no record of this at rental location. ALso, proper explanation of what IS and is NOT covered with insurance would be helpful (we would have also purchased it with tow dolly had we known there was no lock accompanying it).

Start by firing your entire staff. Hands down most unprofessional staff. They are more interested in chatting with each other than keep the line moving and assisting customers. This has been an issue at this location for years so I doubt they will be able to turn anything around.

Long wait in line to get truck on the last Saturday of the month. Think management should have anticipated needing additional employees on this day. However once I finally talked to someone I was out the door in 5 minutes. All employees were extremely friendly and courteous.

The staff is great! Friendly, efficient, and considerate. However, they do not have the proper tools to be successful. During my pick up, the computers shut down and no manager was available to help. There was no coin change for the employees to use. The systems finally came up after an assistant manager figured out how to help. Then the machine was not accepting credit cards... It took over an hour to pick up the truck. The computers crashing are not in the employees control, but leaving them there to struggle without management is ridiculous. The employees are great, but the company needs to give them them systems that allow them to be successful.

The boss and his groupies were not helpful it was not busy and we had to wait 5 minutes for some one to help us while the boss played around with the workers and once they acknowledged us they were not informative and had crappie attitudes the worst experience at a Uhaul ever and I have been to many uhaul in the past they all need customer service training desperately it's needed from the boss down the outside crew was awesome and not part of the miserable experience. They were awesome the truck was clean and ready.

You have in your policy that when you return your equipment you have the option to pay in the method you want, if you want to pay with other credit card or cash and not use the credit card you have in file is an option but that was not my situation they did not let me change. Not fare

I arrived to pick up my truck only to find out that my reservation was cancelled and my truck was given away. Thankfully they were able to fix the problem however I was charged $200 more than my original quote. I was very upset and would like to give a score below average. They get an average score and I would recommend this site because the staff as well as the manager were courteous and ultimately I got a truck which I obviously needed. I'm still upset that I had to pay more and would like to be made whole however I don't see that happening. If it does, I would rerate my experience as excellent but in the mean time it was average at best.

I normally use this facility to pick up supplies for work. I've never had a problem with anyone or anything until yesterday. First, I went in to complete a return, purchase some furniture covers and inform them about the reservation for a 5x8 trailor. I was told to go outside to get hooked up, get the equipment and I would be good to go. I get out side and no one would help at first. When I found someone to help me, they acted as though I was an inconvenience, they struggled to find the trailor I needed and the main guy on it was extremely rude. When they found the trailor, I was not given the supplies from my order. When I asked for them, he became even ruder and told me to go inside. I go back inside and the three women at the counter asked what I needed. When I explained I was told to come back in, I get first a "why?" then told "oh yeah, you have to finish the paperwork". They seemed more concerned over their food orders than actually helping. The woman who completed the transaction seemed friendly but completed her food order while she was helping me. She then asked if I still needed a product that I did not request. When I explained I did not order that, what all I purchased online, I'm told flat out "No you didn't, it's right here." I pull up the order on my phone, re-read it to her and she rolls her eyes and proceeds to tell me no. She looks at the screen again and starts to laugh as she realizes she was wrong but continues to treat me like I'm the idiot. As she completes the transaction, the cost of the rental has now more than doubled and I'm asking how. She said it is just taxes. I understand taxes on products but never for double the cost. She is now extremely rude as she explains the tax but as she is going over it the cost still makes absolutely no sense as it should still be lower than what I was quoted. In all to get the trailor was THE WORST experience I have ever had using Uhaul or that specific facility. They were not busy, inside or out. There was no excuse for that behavior at all. I used that facility last year to get a storage unit and that went a lot faster. They were crazy busier that day but the customer service was great no problem. Yesterday, I have no idea what happened but I'll be damned if I recommend that location to anyone. I'll look for another location to get the supplies I need.
