We called weeks in advance to arrange our pickup time for the morning of our move in day. We then called the day before just to make sure that our u-boxes would be ready for delivery and were assured that we could pick them up as early as 7am. We arrived at 8:15 and were told that they never received the information and they wouldn't be ready until 1:00 in the afternoon. After calling the general manager and the overall company, we got that time moved up to 11:00, but it wasted hours of our time not to mention around $20 in gas and tolls. From 11:00 on we had no problems but somewhere, someone in u-haul screwed up and no one was admitting that it was their fault and not mine. Moving day is bad enough without having to deal with that sort of thing.

The place was easy to find.. we didn't have to wait long at all..better than expected. U-Haul is 100000xs better than Budget! Will never use Budget again.. only used them because U-Haul was not available.. Next time I will wait for U-Haul and NEVER use Budget!!!

Have true and accurate fee quotes available online and by phone. Ensure your equipment is safely intact before each move. So bults and screws don't fall off before customers have an opportunity to use them. Consider hiring people with a shred of customer service skills who don't assume every customer was born knowing your rates and policies and haven't the patience or intellect to explain your chief goal, as a company, is to nickle and dime each patron. Your trucks are in deplorable running condition it required near maximum pressure just to put the truck in motion. And less than a minute into driving the odometer read I had already driven 1.5 miles. In NYC. Not even an ambulance or fire truck could cover that kind of ground. A total rip off from start to finish. I'd strap my furniture to my back and carry it myself the next time I move, before I consider using your services again.

This was my third move using U-Haul and as always I was extremely satisfied. I do wish that when you place an order for utility trucks and hand trucks over the phone the pick up location would have these items available. Why offer them over the phone if they are not available at the location when you need them?

Pick-up Location was convenient for our needs. Location did not have all the supplies that were asked for in our reservation (furniture dolly); we had to go to another location to pick up the dolly. The original location had limited supplies - hand trucks and pads plus a few boxes. So if the customer is not aware of this fact they would have to take time out of their ours of rental to complete this transaction of gathering supplies.

I did not like my last experience at this location. I originally had a contract for 24 hours then when i picked up the van they changed it for 12 hours. Then i got a call early in the morning from one of the staff members at this location yelling at me saying that i was going to be charged 150.00 for not returning the van. Then when i went to the location the rep at the desk that the computer had made a mistake. NO apology, no nothing. In short, I did not like being screamed at in the morning, falsely accused, and not receiving an apology.

This is 2014. How are items not inventoried and synced within systems to a database? I reserved a dolly and a hand cart for my ease of move, and when I went to pick up my truck, they said they didn't have any currently available. That cart was essential to my move, and it screwed me. I would have went to another location for picking up the truck if I would have known. I now know for the future when I'm looking at rental companies.

Micky Sayers was excellent. Unfortunately the last person checking in the vehicle didn't check the side view mirror quite well, it was glued on! I rented a cargo van, parked it, and when I tried to push in the side view mirror it feel off! I returned the van overnight and was assessed a damage fee in the morning (even after calling customer service the night prior). After seeing the bill I came in to the office. Micky walked me outside to view the van, assessed the situation, and processed a refund for the $150 damage that I was charged. Unfortunately when I called customer service to report the damage and they hadn't updated the notes, so my contract was closed out with the charge, Micky was very responsive, professional, And dedicated. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you.

My only issue with this U-Haul experience was the sign in. I arrived only 10 minutes after opening, was third in line, and yet had to wait a solid 20 minutes before being seen. On really hectic moving days such as the last and first days of the month, I'd recommend having more staff on those days.

I had a "guaranteed" pickup in manhattan. 30 minutes before I pick up (I could have been well on my way there if I lived further away) I get a call telling me they don't have my truck and they send me to another location twice as far away. Then that location didn't have the furniture pads I requested.

the truck's back lock did not work; therefore, I was unable to secure the door and over the 2 days i rented the truck the door kept opining in the middle of the driving process at highways and general streets. this was extremely dangerous! I had to stop in different highways to keep closing the trucks door with all my belonging inside, and a hand truck almost falling out into the highway full of traffic at high speed. I told the representatives when i returned the truck and they did not acknowledge the information i gave them. Then, regarding the rental payment, I called several times to confirmed that my american express card was working, that the representative had confirmed that all the payments were pending and that any payment problem was on the Uhal side. Still, i am getting charged for late payment even when in a different uhal facility, their payment went through during the same day. I won't use back this service, terrible.

No signposting for customers returning the truck late at night. We couldn't see the dropoff area right away and not being from the area, we were not sure how safe it was to wander around a UHaul lot searching for it. Overall a POOR experience and won't use you again.
