There was a 30 minute wait to pick-up the truck because only one staff member on duty. I was charged for 2 periods of insurance for a 5 hour rental.

Service is always fast and efficient. I had an issue with my initial truck, and it was corrected and I was on the road, only having to wait less than ten minutes. Carlo is always the consummate professional. It is always clear when one takes their job extremely serious resulting in fantastic service. I noticed he was promoted and rightfully so. I was charged for 12.00 dollars when I paid for my full service, I loaded the fuel and still don't understand what is this charge for, Uhaul is always overcharging people with no reason, I need a refund of my 12.00 there is no reasons for this charge.

The staff is incredible but is often dealing with multiple customers in the store as well as on the phone. It might be helpful if calls could be directed to a toll free number when there are multiple people waiting to be helped.

I rented a van, and I couldn't find any button to automatically adjust the mirrors, so I had to keep stopping and adjust them. This seems like a big safety concern, especially when so many new drivers are using the vehicle. Also, the hazard light button was hard to find. The gas estimate chart was helpful when refilling gas.

It seems ridiculous how U-Haul addresses its email to me as “Dear Valued Customer”. I have rented in this location about 6 times before, without any problems. I recently rented a van at U-Haul Brookline. The gasoline meter of the van had marked divisions for every fourth of a tank only (E, ¼, ½, ¾ and full). I received the van with the gas gauge between ¼ and ½ of a tank, and the printed document at check-out stated that the gasoline level was at 7/16 of a tank (“imaginary markings” because the car only has markings for every fourth of the tank). I returned it with the exact same gasoline level, which is between ¼ and ½ of the tank but closer to the ½ marking than to the ¼ marking, and kept a picture as I always do when renting. Surprisingly, I found that U-haul charged me 20 dollars because according to them, it was on ¼ of a tank. I talked to the manager today (two days after the rental), and he realized that it was not delivered on ¼ of a tank but rather on 3/8 of a tank, and says that this mistake happened because the fuel gauge in that car reads in the opposite direction when compared with the printed copy they give you, and that instead of $20, they would charge me $10, which is what he considers takes the gauge to be from 3/8 (or 6/16) to 7/16, or 1/16 of the tank. Despite the evident subjectivity, he insists in that it is pretty clear (in his imagination, maybe) that the car was delivered by me on 3/8 (or 6/16) and not on 7/16 of a tank (the car fuel gauge does not have the eights and much less the sixteenths marked!!!). The point is not that they charge me 10 dollars or not. The point is that they are taking advantage of the costumer without any logic explanation. I feel tired of even thinking about explaining to them why you cannot tell the difference between 6/16 and 7/16 without having eights or sixteenths markings, and especially why you cannot over charge customers under such foolish reasoning. I thought the insurance decline waiver was a bit unusual. Insisting on policy number and insurance company is not normal in rental situations and if you are going to request it should be advertised in advance. As it turned out, I always carry such information.

Advise the customer that the preparation of the Rental contract, and Inspection if the equipment, plus other bits of paperwork will take up to one half hour or more. For this reason, one should arrive sooner to avoid being charged for an extra day if the.equipment is returned at a time later than that stated in the agreement.

Carlo the manager at the Brookline store is a professional in every since of the word. There was a misunderstanding in the way the reservation was worded. Upon arrival I had expected to have the vehicle rented for a certain period of time but that was not the case. I immediately became irritated at the situation and was not pleasant to Carlo but he conducted himself in the most professional manner and he was able to accomodate my needs. Thank you Carlo for being a professional and pleasant person to work with when the situation called for one of us to do so.

Always a painless process dealing with U-Haul. The only gripe is that I reserved a 17' truck, and the only size available was a 20' truck. What's the point of making a reservation if the truck I reserved isn't available? Either way, it worked it fine.

Both of the workers I interacted with, Peter and Carlo, were incredibly friendly, clear, and professional. I had never rented a truck before, and was nervous about this new experience. Peter and Carlo were very patient and personable.
