Be careful about getting scammed on gas. the meter was below what it said on the contract. They ended up saying I used 4 gallons of gas to go 21.6 miles with a van (unloaded or loaded with just a sofa). They overestimate the tank level when giving it out. yes, it sucks to have to go back in line but don't expect them to use their brains and look at the actual mileage traveled to ask if their tank readings on an analog gauge are close to correct.

Customer service. The peopke that work here always seem to hate doing so. I've used this location at least 4 times and everytime I'm met with attitude, like I'm being done a favor renting from u-haul. I understand, I've worked at customer service jobs where customers act like idiots or dicks but don't take it out on everyone else. Hopefully I won't have to use any uhauls anytime soon. Very stressful situations.

I was called several hours after drop-off with a report that I owed a $400 fee for dropping the truck at the wrong location, but I dropped the truck at exactly the location printed on my receipt, and that was confirmed by the employee who took the keys from me. Then I was charged for an additional day rental (later refunded a week after I called) even though I handed those keys over about 1/2 hour before the 24 hours - the location was very busy and apparently didn't get around to doing their paperwork until about 3 hours later.

Although under-staffed the morning we picked up our truck, the manager juggled the line well. Truck was clean, easy to drive. Your pricing is NOT competitive, but your location was better for us.

The reservation that I made was changed without my knowledge which cost me greatly in mileage. I received poor customer service each and every time I called to dispute the charges. I was put on hold, I was told the reservation could not be found, I was transferred to numbers that either just rang or had an anonymous voicemail. I finally called my bank for assistance and we did a 3 way call with customer service. The customer service rep at UHaul, Marti (a female) was rude, not helpful, said she couldn't find my record but then said she saw how much I was charged. She was dishonest and unprofessional, and my bank attendant put these notes on my account. The General Manager of the store I rented from, who goes by two different names, Carlo Tomlinson and Jay Tomlinson was rude to me, condescending, and completely unprofessional. He was smoking a cigarette in the store when I arrived. When I questioned how I was about to be charged he said, and I quote "you caused inconvenience to yourself, not us". As we debated back and forth about the reservation, I told him that I didn't want to be overcharged as I was in the process of planning my father's funeral who had just died on Tuesday and he responded "that isn't our fault either". I cannot express to you what an incredibly horrifying experience this has been for me. I will be disputing these charges until a resolution has been reached. Carlo/Jay Tomlinson is not someone who I would ever have representing a company for me. His behavior was deplorable.

The whole process of renting was not smooth and very time consuming. I reserved a truck online including credit card info. I received a reservation number that I took with me. When I got to the location I had to go back through every single question I answered before online. So one of the processes, online or in-store was a complete waste of my time. Why fill everything out online, when it will be repeated in the store? It didn't leave me with a good feeling that Uhaul knows what they are doing about making the customer experience as positive as their vehicles and concern for safety are.

My experience was first rate in all respects. I had the pleasure of being helped at the Brookline center by Carlo Tomlinson who was very friendly, enthusiastic, and extremely helpful and diligent. He took the time to diagnose an issue with my Tahoe's towing electrical connection we discovered when he connected the trailer. He methodically eliminated various potential causes for the malfunction and after persistent efforts above and beyond the normal service, he corrected the problem and then completed the paperwork efficiently and with good humor. My whole experience with U-Haul, and with Carlo in particular was exemplary and I would strongly recommend U-Haul and especially the Brookline location.

I was forced to wait 1.5 hours to pick up my truck because there was only one attendant handling all of the pickups. The center should know when there will be a surge of customers reserved to pick up equipment and appropriately staff the center. Also, the attendant wore headphones attached to his phone. In essence, the attendant had only one free hand and listened out of one ear. This really pisses you off when you are waiting for 1.5 hours.

I was the only customer there early in the morning, yet the one staffer (manager) made me wait 10 minutes while he sat in a truck with a clipboard. He was extremely rude making for a really uncomfortable customer service interaction. I would only tell people to go to this location if they had no other option. Also, the company needs to bring their online reservation system in line with the policies of the individual branches - don't let me reserve a truck to be returned at 8pm if the manager is going to tell me that it needs to returned no later than 6pm.
