Rude and awful customer service. Employees made no effort to make the experience enjoyable, in fact made the experience insufferable. They did not explain the process of returning a vehicle when the store was closed and I was forced to park my vehicle 1/3 mile away from the location as there were no parking available in the immediate area.

The vehicle was almost brand-new - only 2,300 miles, but the air conditioning was not working! It was a very warm day, so this made my 160 mile trip quite uncomfortable. Next time, I will remember to check this when I pick up the vehicle!

Then staff member was difficult to understand. English was really a challenge for him. I parked in the U-Haul lot with the other trucks, but was told I parked in the wrong place. The staff person told me to fold all 20 blankets while he stood by and watched me do it. Not pleased at all with this treatment. This is what you call customer friendly?

I was scheduled to pick up my truck at 9am, but didn't actually get my truck until 9:45am. I understand that many people in the city are moving at this time of year, but the company should be well aware of this and make appropriate adjustments/increases in their staff numbers, especially if they are renting out 10 trucks per hour but only have 3 employees on staff. How does that make sense? Come on, how long have you been in the business of renting trucks?

35 minute wait. (Into reservation time) Online check-in resulted in having to complete standard checkin procedure anyway. TWICE. Truck had moldy banana peel on passenger side floor. Got truck to moving location...back sliding door was locked shut. No key provided. Had to spend 20 more minutes in reservation driving back to UHaul to have it unlocked. I was told it wasn't uhaul's fault because "it's very busy". Was not refunded any portion of my rental or apologized to in any capacity.

It was difficult to find a spot to drive in and return. The attendant was short with me. Also, I was charged $25 to remove a few wrappers and a can from the cab. This was unreasonable, and you should reimburse me. Probably took all of 2 min to straighten up.

We rented a van for two days. It would have been helpful if we had been told that it would be very difficult to park it in boston. Many garages could not take it because of its height. Had we known this we would have arranged our time differently and not kept the van overnight.

When I placed the order online, I asked for the Cambridge location. U-Haul switched me to the Somerville location. The confirmation e-mail listed the Somerville location, but I didn't realize it. Poor customer service by U-Haul. U-Haul should have sent an e-mail titled "New Location" or called. However, a manager at the Cambridge location was very helpful in arranging for a truck to be at the Cambridge location, which was a five minute walk from the house.

Returning the vehicle after hours- we were informed that we can park anywhere on the street with meters but that was not very helpful when there were no open parking spots with meters. Some more options would be great, ended up parking in the UHAUL parking lot so it was fine but we were not sure if that was OK but did it anyway because it was our only option.

I find it it Infuriating that this is the 3rd time I get the gas tank 7/8 full. What a coincidence! It is very difficult to return it 7/8 full just right. We either return it full (and we loose) or return it with less (penalty!). It sounds like a bad scheme. Shame on you!!!! Shame on You!!!

When we arrived there was no one in the office. We actually had to go find someone in the truck service area to help us after waiting inside office for almost a minute and seeing no one. Also when we received truck within minutes on the road my fiancé (the driver) informed me that the oil/engine/maint. lights were on which made for a very scary ride during our move. We would have went back but were very pressed for time and did not want to get stuck in traffic even more since we were moving from Allston to Dorchester.

I had a little bit of difficulty with my rental, but the matter was cleared up satisfactorily. Some suggestions: 1) My passenger side mirror was rather badly damaged and seemed less than safe to drive with. 2) The check-in procedure was not clear; i did not actually need to wait by the vehicle (for 15 minutes as i did), as the sign indicated—in fact, it was fine for me to just leave the keys and go. 3) There was an issue with the recording of the proper mileage and gas level on check-out, which resulted in me having to file a dispute for a refund, and while it worked out ok, of course it would be better to avoid such confusion. 4) In general, there is a feeling like being at the post office when waiting in line: seemingly not enough employees to attend to customers in a timely manner, and so palpable stress in the line. Knowing these things better for next-time, tho, i wouldn't hesitate to rent here again.

You charged me $150 for damages that I did not make on my Uhaul. I only drove the car 7 miles and returned it to the metered parking spots on the street as a instructed. The claim says that the tire was flat, though that was not the case when I brought the car back the night before. When I called Uhaul, I had to explain the situation 4 times because they kept transferring me from one department to the next, and even dropped by call completely once between transfers.

fantastic - fast pick-up and return, a clean van, everything was as smooth as possible - they clearly do a lot of business at this location! (Not surprising, given the students nearby.)
