The day I picked up was an exceptionally busy day that should have been expected. The staff did a great job to keep things moving and helping all but the wait was nearly 1.5 hrs. More staff should have been schuled

The waiting line was ridiculous. One person managed 20 people and we wasted an hour and a half in the line. This kind of thing must not happen during a move-in day. Do what you can, call in all the employees and prevent it.

I reserved and pre-registered for a pick-up time of 10:00. Arrived 9:45 to a line that was wrapped around the store - only one person at the counter. I was in line for 1.5 hours getting into the reserved vehicle at 11:15. I told the person at the counter who identified himself as the mgr,, Mr. Washington, that this was ridiculous, he needed more help. He told me that "his people busted their hump this week and I gave them off because I can handle it". To which I replied "Obviously not, if an average of 20 people were in line for 1.5 hours". He then told me I could cancel the truck if I wanted. When I left, the line was still wrapped around the store. I will not rent from that location again. I suggest that this "mgr" be offered some training opportunities to improve his time and personnel management as well as his customer service skills, which seemed non-existent.

After waiting in line a staff person came out with another customer and just unhooked the trailer and said we could leave. There was four vans/trailers waiting to be processed ahead. Short of staff and not very timely in processing

The cab was dirty. I could not use the door pockets, there was something sticky in the bottom of them. When we got home and prepared to load, we noticed the left headlight was out.

The truck had several items that needed repair. However, this is a busy season and I understand that there was not time for the repairs yet. I had pre-reserved the truck and the manager was at the desk when I came in and witnessed him yelling with the customer ahead of me and he was incredibly rude. The manager informed the customer that since the customer had been rude to him, he should not expect any respect in return.

people are not efficiently and there are long lines of people waiting there. Cars are not clean and full of mud. The calculation for miles is wrong.

Checking in the 26' truck in this morning found the facility very quiet so I took the opportunity to talk with the check-in guy and point out a bald rear tire. He agreed it should not go out, then I said it had a worse match that blew out. I don't want to get people fired, but someone in Champaign apparently put a high priority on getting me out the door with the only 26' truck on the property on schedule instead of being safe and honest with me. I would have been fine with having a service truck come out to Mahomet to change 2 bald tires any time in the 2 days we took to load it - much better than 2 hours in haste and peril in Columbus, OH.

The only thing that was good about this experience was the truck...it was very sturdy and reliable. The store was a horrible experience. It was understaffed, with only the mgr and a trainee working...and this was 'students moving back' weekend. I waited in line for AN HOUR to return my truck. The a/c was not working and it was very, very hot in the store, yet neither staff member propped the door open or put out fans or did anything to make the customers more comfortable. Then I was over-charged for gas and when I debated it with the mgr, he became very rude and sarcastic with me...just horrible customer service overall. If there were one, this would be the ghetto store of all U-Haul stores! I will NOT return to that store EVER again, but I'm sure I will use another U-Haul store, as this was not a typical experience. And in the end, I had to call the regional office in Springfield and they were very apologetic, refunded my overcharge on gas and compensated the other problems I experienced with a gift certificate that's good for 2 yrs. I would hope that the regional office follows-up on the a/c problem and the mgr's bad attitude!!

Every time I need to wait in line at least 30 to 40 minutes to get the service. Since this is the only uhaul store in Champaign, I believe everyone come here only because there is no other choice.

After arriving shortly after the store open on a Sunday morning there was a line of 8 people and only one associate working. After waiting nearly 40 minutes... We were told it is always that busy. If you know it is always that busy why not staff more people? Not to add the gentleman working at the time had some of the worst customer service skills I have seen.

The key return box was not usable. The line in the store was a mile long, with only two slow clerks working. Outside, the lot was full, with nary a spot to park the returned u-haul. Today I got charged for an extra day. I called the store, and after arguing briefly with the clerk about what day I returned it, I was told that I must come into the store to get the money returned to my card. I don't have a car, so it's a 2-hour errand for me (with kids in tow), to fix UHAUL's mistake. I'm not happy about that.

The trouble started when I had to wait 2 hours before getting keys to my rental. They said they couldn't find the keys and the manager had to go to a locksmith and get another key made. The side mirrors on the driver side of the truck were not movable, since it appears the mirror fixture was rusted. The antenna was mangled and twisted quite badly.
