After having such a poor experience to begin with, I thought they would at least allow me to return two mattress covers that we didn't use (or open) from our move. They said they couldn't do it because I didn't have my receipt. The covers had uhaul written all over them, they weren't open, and we didn't use them. This is 2015 -- you should have an electronic copy of all receipts as it is! I kindly told the employees to take my mattress covers and give them to the next customer, who needs them, at no charge.

I had a great experience. Andre was great. Made check in and check out very quick and easy and was a really funny guy. The other two staff members I had spoke with were also very nice and polite. Great job everyone!

I never thought a customer service experience could be so horrible as to be worse than Comcast but uhaul did it yesterday. I had a reservation for 10:00 am got there about 11. After I waited in line for 15 minutes or so a woman sent me out back so she could hook up the trailer. I drove around back and waited another 10 or so minutes until she showed up. She couldn't get it hooked up. She said what size is the ball it doesn't look right. I said it's the right size. I said it was the same one I've used every time I've rented a trailer. She got a guy to come help. He said what size is the ball. I said it's the right size, same one I used every time I rented a trailer. After a few minutes he got it hooked up. She said drive around front and we will finish the paperwork. This is where all hell cut loose. She played with her computer for a few minutes then she says I think I'm going to have to unhook your trailer. It's not the trailer assigned to your reservation. That wouldn't be a big deal except that was the only trailer that size and being a huge moving day everything was rented. Then she says the trailer I have isn't even in the system. She gets help from 3 other people none of which could figure out what to do. Meanwhile I'm standing here trying to figure out how I'm going to move my daughter who has to be out of her apartment that day with no trailer. Eventually she found one single person in all of the uhaul location that knew what he was doing and in 5 minutes he had everything taken care of. In total it took me over an hour and a half to pick up a trailer. That's incredibly rediculous!! On top of that while I was there there was another guy trying to pick up the truck he reseved for noon. They screwed that up and said all he could get was a van at 6:45 that night. What a nightmare this whole deal was. If I were you I would go somewhere else or reserve two trailers in case one got cancelled you could have a backup plan.

The amount of gas in the truck was marked wrong in my contract, and even though I got a customer service rep to correct it, I was still charged for the extra. I also turned in the truck early (it was due the next morning but I dropped it off after hours the night before) but because it took them so long to check it in, they charged me for an extra day of rental and insurance. Basically, due to mismanagement, they're trying to charge me about an extra $100. Here's to hoping they're responsive to complaints.

I never had such a bad experience in my entire life. period. I drove all the way from chicago to pick up the trailer from Campaign, IL. I was travelling with my wife and two kids (9 and 5 year old). I got stuck in construction traffic on the way and I called UHAUL multiple times giving my updates and that I will reach the location by 7.00 PM. The UHAUL closes at 7.00PM at the location but I reached there by 6.58 PM. The UHAUL person ( he didn't give me his name - african american with hair sprayed purple color) came running and stood at the door not letting me in till 7.00 PM and kept saying you have to come back at 8.30 next day. I told him I will not leave until I talk to his superior and he threatened and called cops on me. I cannot believe that such a mean and insensitive persons exists in this world. He made my wife upset and kids cry because of the situation. I literally begged and pleaded with him to get the trailer as I am on my way to effignham and told him that i have small kids in the car. he refused. I cannot believe UHAUL of such a bad customer experience. Now I have to drive all the way back to chicago because of this bad and indecent person. Very bad experience overall which should not have happened.

Had a horrible experience but not bc of staff. Staff was great. Got to Uhaul, Ubox was broken into, laptop & TV stolen then the uhaul system charged me another month for another Ubox when I was closing the account out. The staff worked hard to help me fix everything, which I appreciate but the uhaul computer system is a nightmare.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced in any industry. Your company should be ashamed that this location is still open/hasn't changed the management. I would rather go through the hassle and financial burden of buying a truck than dealing with U-haul.

We use this U-haul location more as a matter of convenience than preference. Almost without fail, we experience excessive wait times to pick up reserved vehicles, due to ergregiously long lines resulting from a consistently under-staffed store. On 7/30/15, from the time of entering the store at 7:05am to driving away in my rental, it took one full hour. This is really unacceptable and creates an unpleasant customer experience due to our frustation, and understandably that of U-Haul employees as well. The volume of business this location receives should dictate decisive action be taken to adequately staff the store, especially during peak service times. Nearly every experience renting from this location has been exhausting and at times a debacle. Whether corporate owned, or a franchise, I would expect more from the U-Haul brand, and deserve more as a customer.

Very unfriendly staff. One employee diverted my attention to the odometer so the I did not see that the fuel gauge was not as stated in the contract (contract stated 1/4 tank but it was halfway between 1/4 and empty - my home is only a 1.5 miles away). I only realized this after I had reached my home. It was too late to point it out. So I filled up the gas to the 1/4 tank that I was supposed to. Just thought you guys should know about the practices of the employees at this location.

When I picked up my truck, there was supposed to be a transport too. I was told that I did not enter the information correctly in the request online. The person who called me to let me know where I could pick up the truck and transport locked in the order for the truck and transport. I literally had to drive to Paxton to pick up a car dolly and drive back to Champaign to pick up my car. Then when I left champaign, the ramps were left down. My parents alerted me and I stopped in traffic to put up the ramps on the dolly. I realize that bad things happen. I felt like I had young people who basically did not care about my situation. I had two days drive ahead of me and it seemed like they thought it was a big joke. No one apologized to me about what happened. In fact, it seemed like they were really blaming me for the whole thing. Quite honestly, I will never use uhaul again. I will tell people if they do use uhaul that they shouldn't be under any time constraints because they won't be able to count on the service people to help them out.

Everything was great. I was able to easily reserve the van online and it was quick to pick it up. The associate helping me pick up the van was friendly and willing to help answer questions. It was easy to return the vehicle after hours. Great overall experience! Would totally use them again!

Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The van I rented was clean and like new. But, I had to wait 30 minutes in line. I only saw two people working, one at the counter and one for returns, and the line was to the door. I would say expect to be waiting a long time for your rental.
