I was sent 40 miles away because they said the truck I reserved was not available at the location. Then when I got to the alternate location, they said that the truck actually was available in the original location so I had to go back. Then they gave me the wrong size truck and I ended up having to pay more for gas because it was bigger than what I needed.

So many things were wrong with this experience. Both my first and last names were misspelled, despite the fact that I clearly spelled them out for the clerk. When I pointed this out, I was told the reservation would have to be rearranged to correct the issue, so I just let it go. Then UHaul changed my reservation time at the last moment, delaying my move and making my whole family wait on their convenience. Even when I showed up on time to the pickup location, no attendant was present; we had to hunt him down after waiting for several minutes. This was a compete fiasco, and I will not rent from UHaul again.

During the busy rental/moving season you need more staff people available to help at the counter to get customers processed faster. At the time I was there to both pick up and return the truck there was a line out the door, and the wait time was very long.

The location was under-staffed the morning I rented the truck. Only one clerk was working behind the counter. Though she worked as quickly as she could, it took an hour for me to rent a truck.

I was told that the hold on my debit card would be lifted the day that I rented the truck, instead the full amount was charged to my account, and I was told I could expect the refund " in a few days". Which is ridiculous, thanks to that my account became overdrawn. They need to better explain the payment process, because I wanted to pay cash at drop off and was told I couldn't.

The staff at this location has an "I'd rather be anywhere but here attitude." One employee specifically named Percy was awful. Although I believe his manager addressed the situation by telling him to "get off his clock in front of us." Service very slow and no sense of urgency.

There needs to be more 26' trucks acvailable. The people that work there are well aware there are not enough 26" trucks. Good new is the dispatch reduced the mileage rate to offset the sub srtandard truck.

We arrived at 9:30 to pick up our truck, which was scheduled for pick-up at 9 a.m. We made the reservation more than a month prior, so we figured it would be smooth, and the reservation would be honored. We didn't leave the U-Haul facility until after 10:15, as there was an enormous line of people waiting to be served prior to us. It was also clear that other people in front of us did not have their reservation honored, as it took a long time to resolve their requests. The desk was unmanned completely for the first 15 minutes of our being there, and when he returned, he clearly could not keep up with the demand of the growing line of customers. This location seriously needs to rethink how they prepare for reservations, as to respect their client's time; moving is time-consuming, and any delay in getting started can cause them to lose valuable time as well as effort from friends who agreed to help only for a certain window (this was our case). Either hire more people to help out with the rush, or don't take customers' money for a 9 a.m. reservation when they clearly will not be prepared at that time.

There were only 2 people working, that I saw - only one actually helping customers. I stood in line for 15 minutes (2nd in line out of 7 people waiting) before I even saw an employee in the building. The people before me were supposed to be renting certain equipment which the location didn't have. When I was up to be served, I did the advanced online check in - in hopes to save time- the man working could not find the keys to my van and he attempted to call the manager several times and the manager did not answer. The man working decided to give me the other van scheduled at a later time lot in hopes the keys for the van I was supposed to receive would be found at that time, which I greatly appreciated. I feel this location is mismanaged and very poorly at that. The staff member was polite and tried his best. Upon my return of the equipment there were 5-7 employees working and no customers. This was on a Saturday. One would think many people would be attempting to move early in the morning on a Saturday and more staff members should have been scheduled. I hope to never use this location again, but it is the only one around so I may have no choice. I am an Assistant Principal and manage people and teenagers daily; I fully believe management establishes expectations, tones and procedures that are a trickle down effect from the top. I was disappointed and will consider alternative rental companies.

Friday the computer system seemed to slow the down completing the contract. The trailer was ready and staff to hook it up were fast, courteous and efficient. Sunday at checkin the computer system seemed faster and the transaction completed quickly. The clerk was efficient at the terminal and very helpful to come outside and unhook the trailer.

I reserved a trailer, checked in online the day before, called the day before (but never received a call from the location), called the day of my moving day before coming to pick up the trailer. Nevertheless, when I came to the store, no trailers of any size were available and I was obligated to rent a van instead, which cost me three times as much as a trailer would have cost. I was also forced to return it to the same location. Fortunately, U-Haul refunded me $50. This was far from a positive experience, however, and I don't think I will be renting from U-Haul again or recommending it to anyone.

Have equipment ready when told. I was told I could pick up the truck and car trailer at 7 AM and someone would call me the day prior. At 3 PM the day before no one had called so I called. I was told I could not pick up the truck equipment until noon! I arranged for friends to be off work to help me load and be on the road by then. Then the lady on the phone said I could pick the truck up at 7 AM but the trailer wouldn't be back until noon. I picked up the truck about 7:20 AM and was told the trailer wouldn't be available until 2!!!!!! I asked to be called if the trailer was in early. The employee confirmed my cell# and said he would call. At 11:30 I called and was told by the woman who answered that she could not reach anyone at this location but the computer showed it was not yet available. At 2:30 I called again as I had not heard from anyone at U-haul. This lady told me I was supposed to have picked it up at 12:45! This process/system was sooo messed up and was very, very poor customer service!!! I was very angry and extremel disappointed and frustrated. It totally threw off the plans for a 2 day trek from IL to FL. Next time I need such services I will go elsewhere if this is the way you communicate. Everyone who was helping me with this move was frustrated as well.
