it was raining when dropped off and employee would not help at all in unhooking of tow dolly. Went inside and watched in the dry office. Terrible.

I had excellent service from the Champlain location, however, not a good experience with the Plattsburgh location. I made my reservation 6 weeks in advance to be sure that a truck would be in Champlain for me. The Plattsburgh office refused to work with me on this, insisting that I had to drive to Plattsburgh (an extra 60 miles, round trip) to pick-up and return the truck. It finally took a call to corporate offices to resolve the matter and I was able to pick-up and return the truck at the Champlain location.

U-Haul management should back-up what their local dealers do and say. Local dealer was excellent to deal with & very professional. Very dissatisfied with area field manager who stepped in after the fact and made the statement that any vehicle that leaves the yard gets charged regardless of whether the vehicle is operational or not.
