The young man who made initial contact and provided the vehicle was excellent!! Not only w/me but w/the customer in front of me. His expertise and hospitality was well above "normal" standards. I was in/out within minutes. I hope he is recognized for his dedicated service to UHaul. The man who received my vehicle back into UHaul was also very knowledgable and speedy. The vehicle was dirty but with the weather it is understandable although I am short and totally soiled my coat reaching things up over the truck. Would def recommend this location to others.

The trucks brakes were not working properly. Also it kept wanting to stall. When we reached out location to start packing we found the back of truck had trash in the floor

The contract was not clear, was not explained, and I was charged an extra $23.22 on top of what I paid originally (almost $40.00) and cannot figure out why. I stayed below the mileage limit and returned with gasoline. I am very upset at being charged extra money without an explanation.

Nothing! Move had to be delayed 1 day. Everyone on the U-Haul end was very accommodating & friendly. I would not hesitate to recommend this company, esp. the location on 7th Ave. in Charleston. Been there twice & had the same experience twice.

The people who operate this location are horrible! From the manager, Derrick who enjoys talking fast and loud while bullying the customer even though he is wrong and a smart Alec to Jessica who likes to cite imaginary contract clauses in order to substantiate overcharging the customer while making statements such as, "It doesn't matter what a call center agent tells you. We won't honor anything they say." And, "You can come back in to talk to Derrick, but you won't get anywhere." Jessica was right about the 2nd statement. When I asked Jessica, Larry and a 3rd agent for the name of their district manager, not one of them knew his last name! Thank goodness for District Manager Mark Arnold! He is the exact opposite to that crew working there! He listened and fixed my problem! I highly recommend some intense customer service training for those people! I would fire Derrick on the spot if I heard him talk to a customer as he spoke to me! Little wonder the agents under him are so rude. They learned from Derrick!

I thought the truck would be ready to go when I got there but the windshield was covered in ice and had to wait 15 minutes for it to thaw. The salesman said he would be right back with de-icer and never came back. The checlk engine light was on and never went off. I rented a dozen furniture pads and only used 6. I didn't even open the extra bundle and they said they could not refund my money. So I paid to rent it and didn't use it then watched them put it right back on the shelf to rent it again.

The pick-up experience was awful, a man named Marc Halburn was rude, a liar, and generally just plain nasty, had I not been in a time squeeze, I would have NOT used U Haul, (in the past I have never had a bad experience with U haul). The wonderful young lady who handled the return of the vehicle was the total opposite of Halburn, smiling, helpful and deserving of a raise! It is my intention to write a letter of commendation concerning her, just have not gotten to it yet, and at the moment can't recall her name, but I do have it somewhere. What can you do to improve things for the next customer? FIRE HALBURN, FAST!!!!! He will cost you return business. Just a complete JERK, and slow as well. Seriously, an incredibly bad employee you need to terminate. If you would like to call me to discuss this, you are welcome to do so, I am sure you have my contact information with the contract.

On the internet is says st and not ave. I am not from the Charleston area and didn't know there was a difference. I called the customer service three times and all that was repeated to me was the address and the cross streets. I told them that I wasn't familar with the area and all that was said is have a good day click. (They hung up on me twice.)

Don't have some salesman lie to the customer over the phone then change all the main, very important details when the customer comes to pick up the product and overcharge after it's to late to rent from someone else. I will never rent from uhaul again, I could have bought a old truck for $1500.00 and scraped it afterwards or paid a moving company to do it.

I received paperwork for one a 10' truck Friday Dec 26th 2014. I contacted a representative Saturday night at 6:20 PM at 304-344-2321 only to find out the truck Mileage I gave was the wrong truck. Mark the phone representative advised me I could return the truck Sunday at 9:00 AM and from what he calculated I would owe $30. Upon returning the truck I explained that Mark had noted the conversation and that the paperwork and truck/mileage didn't match the truck I was given. The employees didn't know how to correct their mistake. Tried to call a manager couldn't reach one. I waited for approximately an hour. I was told by Larry they would call me and credit my card if I had over paid. I advised I paid cash. I felt as though I owed some monies for additional miles was told $30. I was called back later and told I owed an additional $118.00. I advised I disagree. I was then told to contact a manager today. I work my day job from 8:30-5:00 and a second job from 6-9. I'm not able to return there today. I am requesting someone call me about this matter. Thank you, Stephanie Chesnut 304-395-0462

I had put in a reservation for the Saint Albans, WV (25177) location. Upon arriving I was told I did not have a reservation. After supplying the confirmation number I was told they did not have a truck and I would have to go to another location (Charleston WV 25312) to pick up the truck. This caused me to incur additional miles on the truck and as a result I ended up with an additional charge for mileage. The counter person at 25177 was rude and unprofessional.
