Can I say that this U-Haul rental has been THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!
On your website, you asked what size truck I needed. When I clicked on the truck size, rental providers appear in the area I needed. I reserved the truck I needed in the location I needed. As it turns out, the whole thing is a hoax! The website offerings are completely bogus.
Thinking I was ready to make my move, I go to the location where I had supposed reserved a truck only to find out that there is NO truck there. Now after spending 20 minutes at that location trying to figure out where to get a truck, I have to backtrack about 25 miles to get a truck. What is the purpose of reserving a truck at a specific location if you are NOT going to offer a truck at that location? Now I'm many miles off course and already late for my moving responsibilities.
I finally get the truck, only to find that the Engine light and Oil light is on, and the AC hardly works!
When I finished my move and was ready to see the truck gone from my presence, the reserved drop off location was closed. I called your customer service to change the drop off location. I filled the gas tank and headed for the new 24 hour drop off, only to find it closed WITHOUT a drop box. I called the customer service who suggest to call the emergency number on site. There was NO such number! Customer Service said to leave the truck and keep the key. I went back this morning to leave the key at 8:30 because that's what their posted hours of business indicated. No one appears until 9:00. Then to top it off, I was charged more because of the extra miles I had to travel to accommodate YOU because of not having the truck where I asked for it nor did I have the drop off where I needed it! And by the way, no one told me about the extra charges. I only realized it when I viewed the email sent by U-Haul. When can I finally rid myself of this nightmare????
At no time did anyone ask how many miles we would travel in the move so that arrangement could be made initially for paying for needed miles.
Isn't there a guarantee about having the reserved truck in its reserved location? I believe it's says I get $50 back.
I feel that I did everything as I was supposed to for what would be expected for a client. I feel that you did nothing to help in an already stressful moving situation. I spend lots of money and lots of time to make a stressful
move easier and it turns out to be an overwhelmingly stressful experience!
