I used the same size truck, going to the exact same place, and the rate was $150 more the second trip two weeks later?!? The staff helped me work it down to only $15 more but it took like 15 minutes of me standing there. Better consistency would be appreciated. My business to rent trucks a few times a year. Also, my phone was being blown up with text from U-haul telling me to drop the truck off at a different, further away, location. What's up with that? I didn't do it and it was fine.

As you may you your company has the worst customer service. I had a reservation confirmation for 8:00a.m. When I got there there was no one in the store and the store was closed. I called 1-800-789-3638 and spoke with “Donna” who didn’t tell me her last name because it’s “company policy”. When I told her what happened she was utterly unhelpful. When I asked to speak with a manager/supervisor her response was, “there is no one here by that name.” Given my situation that is completely unacceptable. Especially when I’ve spent almost $500 with U-Haul this past month. Fortunately I was able to get in touch with a decent associate through the 1-800-789-3638 number. After speaking with that person they told me they would forward me to a scheduling manager to help me commandeer a truck. After an extended hold I was again in contact with “Donna” who sounded like she was laughing at my situation. She told me that the general manager “Jay” would be by soon to open the store and rent me the truck. For all my trouble she would let me rent a 15 foot truck for the price of the 10 foot truck. It seems this is your go to “concession” as this is what I was offered last time. I parenthesized concession because I didn’t need the 5 feet of extra space and ended up paying U-Haul $220 dollars plus $40 on fuel. Clearly I this point I was upset with “Donna” and her “efforts” to amend the situation. I told her that was not an acceptable concession and her response was to basically end the conversation instead of trying to help me… Eventually the general manager Johnny Jenkins showed up. He gave me a fifty dollar credit and let me borrow a free hand truck with no hassle. While I appreciate his efforts I doubt there’s anything that can be done to make up for the rude and atrocious customer service I’ve experienced my last two rentals. Your representatives are always standoffish and never helpful. Additionally there is never a manager available (probably because they would be on the phone all day) and regardless of the situation the only concession is to upgrade the truck at same price. I honestly seems like they don’t even care or try. Hopefully management has recognized this and can make a decision on whether to retrain, rehire, or empower the customer service representatives to be more helpful and give a better concession than upgrading the truck if the situation warrants it. Again, it really seems like you don’t even care so I hope I didn’t waste my time writing this. Feel free to reach out if there’s anything I can help with. Thanks.

I was about 40 minutes late getting to the location. When I arrived the clerk complained to me about being late and began telling me how the truck could have been rented by someone else. She was very rude and unprofessional. When the contract was completed I discovered that I needed more blankets and asked for them to be added, this made the clerk very angry. I have used other U-Haul location and was treated with great respect and with courteously. I am not sure If she was having a bad day and decided to take it out on me. I remained polite and did not do anything to incite more bad behavior from this clerk. This is not a big deal but I thought I would take this time vent the frustration I had when going to this location.

When you rent someone a vehicle you need to make sure it is there when they come to pick it up and if for some reason it is not you need to have options available for them instead of having them being inconvenienced and short a vehicle because someone else did not return it on time. Giving a discount is nice and all but a discount doesn't get two loads worth of furniture and boxes into one van so at the end of the day it still doesn't make it any better

The improvement for the next customer is to have quality service (in person). The service that I received over the phone was excellent when I reserved a uhaul. When I actually arrived at the uhaul location, the cashier did not provide me quality service nor was the cashier professional (I can tell that the customer service rep and cashier were two different people). When I entered the location, the cashiers were not as welcome as they could have been. As the young lady was checking me in and giving me instructions she was going to fast, she gave me the wrong key to the truck I reserved, and did not walk me out to the truck to show me the correct truck, and how to operate the back of the truck (how to open the gate of the truck). Professional and customer service training is needed for the cashiers.
