truck was not in very good condition, it even started smoking terribly and we had to call roadside assistance. Ended up having to drive an unsafe truck back to the drop off location. Kudos to Luke from coralville, Iowa he was at the gas station we broke down at and went out of his way to help us even though he was not working. This kid needs a raise!!

The customer service at this site was outstanding. I had to change my pickup time of the trailer and they were helpful. The only improvement would be that when I went to pickup my pre-ordered/pre-paid moving supplies they did not have all the items and was told to come back the next day for them. I had wanted to have all things packed prior to picking up the trailer.

When checking in, among other things, we were told to being it back clean, however there were candy wrappers and something that appeared to be cat poop in the cab. Kinda disgusting.

While the hardworking and competent employee did a fantastic job, he was a little overloaded and so we had to wait for what I can only assume was uncommonly long. He was very kind and moved quickly in a sub-optimal situation.

1. Low beams did not work. I was returning the truck at around 9pm, so it was a challenge to drive. Hi beam worked, but it is useless when driving in the city. 2. Nobody explained where to park the truck during after-hours. 3. Scary 6-steps (or 5?) instruction on the entry door does not help.

Wouldn't recommend UHaul EVER!!! No need to get a confirmation number as they don't honor it or the size reserved. They repeatedly called back cancelling and/or changing what they confirmed just hours before (4 times is ridiculous!!!!) & in the end they still didn't give us what we reserved weeks prior!!!!! Not enough space to list the pathetic, dishonorable service we received. Worst customer service & guarantee I have ever seen (i knew more about their trailers than the worthless employees)! I will certainly be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau!

assigned trailer had lights that did not operate. Had to swap out for a different piece of equipment. This with the need to redo the contract put me about 40 minutes behind schedule. Need to ensure equipment is in operating condition before it is picked up.

Do you want a smoking truck or non. I don't smoke but the cab stunk of cigerettes and the dash board was dirty. It made for a long trip having to smell cigerettes.

The truck leaked and got our mattresses wet. I bought the insurance and was told in Iowa it would not cover water damage. I was specifically told in Wilmington that it would cover water leak. No issues returning trailer. However, we rented 12 moving blankets from this location before we left for Kansas City. Upon returning the blankets, we were told it would cost us 5 days @ $10.00/day plus tax. If I had rented the blankets in Kansas City it would have been $10.00 plus tax total. Apparently renting blankets locally is per day and one-way is per contract. Very confusing and almost deceitful. The Coralville manager made it right with me and only charged $10.00 plus tax.

The person that gave us the truck seemed to be in a hurry to get us out. We did no walk around inspection, no checking of the lights or safety features to ensure they were working. It was not until we got the truck back to the house did we note neither the cab nor the back of the truck were clean.

They seemed short staffed for such a busy weekend. Long wait time. The workers were very helpful. We did not have an equally good experience, however, with using the movinghelp.com website. It is confusing that you have to pay up front before you even know if the company listed can help you. In our case we had to wait until the next day and the company sent us two high school kids. They did a great job but were not professionals or knowledgeable about moving large items. We paid a very premium price for their help. I would not use the movinghelp.Com service again.

It was my impression that technical personnel involved in a pre-reserved installation were interrupted frequently to manage exchanges instigated between drop-in customers and retail staff. It usually followed this pattern: retail staff takes a phone call; gets a unusual question (in one case, "Can the facility provide four U-box rentals for 30 days to a individual in Holtville TX?); the retail person begins to shape a plan and coordinate logistics by asking other personnel, calling other U-haul establishments and contacting trucking companies, etc.; the computer balks at the information input; more information is required of customer; back and forth, but the computer still will not accept the input information; finally the installation engineer is interrupted again and discerns that the retail staff member is trying to schedule delivery of four boxes from an 18 trailer that does not carry a fork-lift. The whole exercise is impossible. Instead, U-Haul should create a call-center staffed with experienced engineers/coaches accessible to the retail staff of all U-Haul franchises. There is no need to interrupt scheduled work to ferret-out pragmatic explanations for why the computer screens are providing errors.
