Reservation system needs work. Reserved truck online, then confirmed with las cruces NM branch for 8/24/14 and found it was not available. Had to go to El Paso for pick up in order to keep move on schedule.

Saturday is a busy day for moving and it took a long time to get checked in. They need more staff when there are many trucks reserved or for busier days. The express check-in feature was helpful despite the rest.

When equipment is reserved and confirmed at one location, don't wait till the customer gets there to pick up equipment to tell him/her that they have to go to another location that is 40 minute drive away. A phone call would have saved time, gas and irritation. And still got no apologies or discounts on anything.

When I initially rented the cargo van on the website, it was not clear that I was only renting it for 4 hours. When I called to try and clarify with the store on Mesa, I was placed on hold and was hung up on three times. The U-Haul website needs some work, and the people answering the phones at the Mesa store need some help...

I made a reservation for a 14' truck, and was given a 10' truck causing me to make 2 trips! It is the second time in less than 2 years that they do this. The last time I was also forced to drive to the other side of town to pick up my truck! U haul needs to seriously address this issue! If I ever move again, I will seriously explore other options!!

Amazing location. Didn't use their storage, but I could tell that if we needed a storage unit, that would be the place to go. Check in guy was very quick, thorough and friendly. Just wished we didn't have to wait so long to check-in inside, but that had more to do with the lady getting information ahead of us, and the clerk was very helpful and professional with her and us.

Not giving people a reservation over the phone and then having someone else call and change the times and location. Ive had that happen twice. Customer service really needs to be improved. The second time I made a reservation the customer service agent put me an hour away to pick up and gave me a different location altogether. It has been frustrating to deal with uhaul in general because it seems like I cant get a definite reservation for the allotted time that I need it for.

The truck I was assigned was absolutely horrible. The engine had no power and would take forever to start. Once it did fire up, fumes of gasoline filled the cabin. At one point, the engine didn't even try to turn over. It was completely unresponsive. The lights in the actual compartment in the back wouldn't always work. While driving at night, the dash lights that help the gauges be seen would cut out. Only by smacking the dash, would they come back on. While on route to return the vehicle, the air conditioner stopped working. This truck was riddled with both mechanical and electrical failures.

the trailer was hooked up and chains were not dragging. The kid who did my check out... un did the chains and let them hang almost to touching ground. Of course some time down the road, the chains were dragging and one of them broke(I still had 800 miles to go). It was a Saturday and all U hauls had closed early and they were closed the next day on Sunday. So I had to call an emergency U-haul rescue to come and fix the chains.

Dealt with manager. He did accommodated different drop off location but very slow (computer problems) and would not print off the receipt and I do not have a smart phone and my printer is still coming from Washington, DC.

when sending update status for p/u of equipment, an advance notice would be helpful, my p/u location was changed 3x in 24hrs last changed came after I was 2min from 2nd p/u location a little frustrating!
