Make sure that the maintenance on the vehicle is maintained before renting. The truck we rented was almost impossible to open in the back. When we returned it, we mentioned it to the salesperson. His reply to us with a chuckle was "Yeah, we've had trouble with that truck opening....we have to get it fixed." Unacceptable in my book!

I was sorely disappointed in the lack of customer support/service the date of my rental (2/14/15).. A horrible snow storm was hitting the area as I was checking out. As I finished the process at the counter, the girl who attended to me said 'the appliance dolly is over there and the truck is...". While I of course did not expect pickup at the door, I was extremely upset that i had to get the dolly, drag it out the door through the snow, without anyone even offering to hold the door open for me, and then had to open the truck and lift it into the truck myself. Now, this is poor service in and of itself, but this is even after I shared with the girl that I had fallen on Thursday and sliced my thumb open the night before my move. She was unfriendly, uncaring...as if she was following a script and could not interact with the customer at the counter...me. Later that afternoon, when I returned the truck, a gentleman came in asking for help. His phone had died, he was not from the area and did not know his way around. He asked the person behind the counter if he had paper maps. The guy behind the counter said "No, everyone uses google". He then offered to allow the gentleman to charge his phone. That was nice, however, when the gentleman said he doesn't have his charger, the employee didn't even act like he was sorry he couldn't help him out. In my opinion, the employee could have pulled his own personal cell phone out, found the directions for the gentleman and written them down for him or try to direct him to a place that could help him, like the nearest gas station. It was no secret that weather was going to turn significantly worse as the day/evening progressed and the coldness, rudeness and the fact that your employees completely disregarded the needs of their customer and another who clearly needed help is appalling. I will be sure to tell any and all of my friends, family, coworkers never to rent from your facility.

The only negative I have is that I planned on renting a 20 foot truck for one days, but ended up renting it for 4. I was expecting to pay the 39.95 for each additional day, which is what I was told when I called to see if I could keep the truck, but no one mentioned the insurance cost per day and also the dolly fee per day. This made the cost approximately an extra $75 that I wasn't expecting. I had a strict moving budget and if I would have been reminded of those fees, I may have tried to keep the truck for a shorter period of time.

I use U Haul exclusively whenever I need a rental and the Elyria one is the most professionally run one I have used yet. The staff was helpful, the van well maintained and the price the best there is. I would recommend this particular one to anyone who asked.

I did not like cashier reaction as I asked him for a truck and Trailer. I asked the cashier for truck and trailer to rent for about 2hrs in able to move a car. The first thing he said was "Its a Thousand Dollar deposit do you still want it". After I told him yes I will still like to rent the items he then got his manager because he DID NOT know how to do a 1000 Deposit. I asked the manager if the 1k deposit is a normal protocal deposit for renting these items he then had a lot of excuses that it was. I've rented these Items at the same location one year ago and there was NO deposit. He ran the transaction and no where on my receipt did it say 1000 deposit... After I returned the items I asked for the receipt that shows the deposit and I was then showed the transaction. How can Uhaul enter a 1000k deposit after I have already signed my receipt for $115 without my authorization. I did not like the attitude of the manager and I felt I was profiled to not be able to afford 1k deposit. Very dissatisfied with this location customer service

When we walked in the door there were 3 guys behind the counter, they looked up at us and went on about their business, there were no other customers at that time, they didn't say a thing to us, not even a hold on a minute. After standing there for a few minutes one of the guys asked one of the other guys to help us. Are you kidding me, I understand if you are finishing something up but a quick "Hi, we will be right with you" would have been sufficient. I have worked in customer service for years and I wouldn't have my job if I treated customers like that. Whoever answers the phone to set up the rental was not very friendly either when we were asking for directions, seemed as if we were botherering her.

I felt di satisfied when I picked my rental uhaul up.The owner/manager waited on me And tossed my rental info said the trucks in front never showed me anything about the truck asked if I knew how to open hatch or ramp and didn't even ask if I had any question or if any problems where to call. Very disappointed with service...

I checked in prior and when I arrived the General Manager ask me for a secondary number I stated that I did not have another number and he stated very rudely If you don't have another phone number I don't have to rent to you. Uhaul already had all my information as well as where I am picking up and dropping off. I just thought that it was bad customer service provided by your General Manager. I am disabled. I was issued a walk around sheet to sign off on I did go outside and completed the walk around the fuel that was documented was not accurate. I waited and waited and then I called the GM and ask him to come out to verify the fuel. If would be nice he the GM had some senitivity training.. Not a good experience. I would like a call back from someone at the Corporate level at Uhaul please at 740-334-5008.

Gear shift on this unit is poor. Out of alignment so hard to figure out what gear it was in. In check in people did not pay attention to let me finish unloading truck before they moved it into garage. Made more work for me. They were good at adjusting my pick up time and I appreciate that.

The truck I got really sucked, it had very poor steering, it sounded like it had a hole on the pipe for the muffler,It had very poor pickup, overall I think to make sure your trucks are up to par a little more on the maintenance would have made it easier to use the trucks. One last thing, remove the dolly and pads from your trucks, I did not use them, if you want people to pay to use these items you should give them to your customers when you make there deposit otherwise they took up space I could have used .

The truck was very old. It felt and sounded like it was going to fall apart as we were driving down the road. But don't let that fool you. The truck made the move and so did we. I would rent it again in a heart beat. Have always had a good experience with U-Haul.
