Poor customer service inside at the cashier. Great customer service to the guy driving our uhaul out! The inside (cashier) they were slow and rude.

From the moment I walked in, this was easy, fast and efficient. customer service was excellent - from Henry at pick-up to the guys at drop off. Better than any retail experience I have had lately. I will definitely recommend UHaul and this location!

A shot out to customer service: I needed a pickup truck with a ball hitch. I called UHaul and was told every truck had a trailer hitch. Got to the rental location and learned that not all trucks had ball hitches, just receivers.The local shop guys were very accommodating in changing my reservation from early the next morning to that evening and, when we saw that the truck didn't have the ball hitch, he took the needed new part off of the retail shelf in order to install the ball hitch on my rental after the shop doors were locked for the evening (I arrived right before closing and they were quite busy). His efforts were very much appreciated and I hope he can be awarded appropriately for his excellent "extra mile" service.

The seat height adjustment was broken on the driver's seat. I'm 5'7"...couldn't raise seat height. Also, the pre-check in process online in which I laboriously typed in ALL my info to speed the pickup and checkout process didn't work. Had to enter most info over again at pickup, including my declination of insurance (again). Took longer to pickup than even other rental experiences from BEFORE you had the pre-check-in web process. Also, as is typical of most of your locations now, sketchy Mexican day laborers were hanging out in the parking lot and sitting in the open rear of a Uhal display truck. Moved towards my car when I parked to go and pick up my truck. Always aggravating. Also, why CAN'T I park on your site if I'm just taking a truck for two hours of quick moving? Had to park blocks away on a public street in a sketchy low-income part of town and walk back to your store. If I'm driving off with a truck of yours, doesn't that free up a place where I should be able to leave my own vehicle???

My only complaint would be the people outside bugging us as soon as we pulled in....they wanted us to hire them to help. It's obnoxious. Not sure if Uhaul can do anything about it because technically they weren't on the property.

We were told that there was no after hours drop, so we needed to return truck at 8am on Sunday. We arrived at 8am to find that there IS overnight drop, and the store didn't open until 9am. Several other customers were there trying to figure out what to do, as they had been told the same. We dropped the keys in the box, and the account was resolved successfully after the office opened.

The two gentlemen working that day, Henry, and another whose name I do not remember, were fantastic. They were timely in completing the paperwork for the rental, they were cordial and friendly though-out my pick-up and drop-off, and added an appropriate, professional dash of humor. When I need to rent a truck or van, I will absolutely use this very convenient location again.

We realized that we needed the truck for longer than we thought. The attendant informed us there was NO way to extend our reservation. When we asked him if he could check the other UHaul's in the area, he "looked" at his computer for 2 seconds and said "Uhh, nothing's available." He was very quick to get us to take the truck and leave, and even then FORGOT to give us the furniture pads that we ordered. (This was fixed by the afternoon staff.) After we left, we called the Falls Church UHaul on Broad Street, and GUESS WHAT? They had PLENTY of trucks available. I will NEVER return to this location.

The gentleman with the braids verbalized order for me as he witness the bee swarm by the day workers looking for work. It nearly came the level of harassment and he stopped them. I didn't feel safe until he asked them professionally to allow me to conduct my business. They followed me onto the next street where I parked my car as I obtained the Uhaul truck. I felt scared but left unharmed. Thanks to Columbia Pike Uhaul I have selected this location 4 times for moving equipment. Please let them know what a great job they are doing. Find out who the AA male with the "dred locks" is and tell him personally or promote him speaks best! Patricia Capers 703-585-0959.

I've been in this location a few times and the staff are always courteous, helpful and patient - even when there's a press of people wanting their trucks on a Saturday morning. The lady that I believe is the manager is a star. My only suggestion would be for everyone to smile a little more and trust that the customers will reciprocate in kind. This is a fast and efficient office.

I reserved a furniture dolly. It was not in the truck. I ultimately sent a friend all the way back from the place I was moving from to get the dolly. He was gone longer than expected, and when he returned he told me the staff had been very slow. He had also been given a hand truck, not a furniture dolly. We did not send anyone back a second time. This dolly was very necessary for the move, and moving without it was a huge problem that resulted in physical pain that was unnecessary. This was a very bad experience, and it left me very angry at U-Haul in general and at this location in particular.

The store was not opened on time due to a manager not coming in to work. We stood outside over 40 minutes in a line to pick up our truck. We arrived 10 minutues before 7am so that we could be one of the first customers but we were not even in the building until after 7:45am. I appreciate they gave us an additional hour on our reservation but was still unacceptable.

The manager was 30 minutes late in opening the store. The only employee there was very helpful and on-time, but, he didn't have a key. Unacceptable for a Saturday morning.

The general manager never showed up to open the store on time. I stood outside the door for 40 minutes waiting for someone to show up and open the store. This was completely unacceptable. I will not be returning to this store, or any uhaul again.

Treat women with some common courtesy! I have never experienced blatant sexism. That is until today. I went with a guy friend to rent a pick up truck at Uhaul. It was in my name, my credit card, my drivers license, my signature. As the man helping me was taking me to the truck he walked passed my guy friend who was standing about 10 feet away by the door messing on his phone and asked "you driving?" My friend simply said no. I was a little dumb founded and we laughed about it while moving some stuff. Then, I went to return the truck. I handed the same guy the key. He took it, didn't say a word and walked to go outside so I followed him, with my friend behind me. The man still didn't speak to me, but instead asked my friend if the truck ran okay. My favorite part of the whole thing was when the man then turned to ask my friend to verify my email address to send the receipt to. I am still dumbfounded by the entire experience.
