Not sure who to rate terrible here. My "reserved" equipment was not available at Farmingdale when I arrived in the morning. They completed my reservation, took my money, then brought me out to a tiny open trailer. Not sure why that would happen considering I reserved a 5x8 enclosed unit by calling their office directly prior to that. So the only shot at me moving that day was to drive to Hicksville to pick up a similar trailer. I was willing to do so, even though my move was 20 minutes east of the Farmingdale location I rented from originally. I made the drive completed the move and was told I would have to drive back to Hicksville to not be charged a one way rental or additional day fee. So after I sacrificed the first 3 hours I should have had with the trailer I reserved, I was told I would be the one to have to deal with returning it to an alternate location. Uhaul screwed up my reservation, and after phone calls to the "traffic department" to try and get this resolved, not only was I treated terribly and told "it was unfortunately my issue to deal with", no one would admit that it was Uhaul that messed up. Why reserve if you can't fill the order? You might as well tell me I need to call the location in the morning to see if they have it, because if not I may have to drive to another county to pick up the equipment. The last two times I have reserved equipment from Uhaul (out of 3 total) the rental was not available when I arrived. How is that even possible? You have no problem taking my payment and making me think I am all set, only to show up and destroy the first few hours of my day trying to figure out how I can still fulfill the promises I have made on my end. You guys need to take a serious look at your customer service and experience. As of now not only will I never use Uhaul again, but I will do my best to make sure everyone I know does not either.

1. furniture pads/blankets in back of truck that we were told were included in price of rental were wet! Good think we checked to see how many were in truck before we left! 2. We were told by cust serv rep on phone at this location that 6 blankets were included with rental. When we called to confirm our reservation later in week, call center rep told us no blankets were included and if we wanted any we had to pay $10 for 12 and she added them to our reservation. When we got there the day of rental, there wasn't anything on our agreement about wanting blankets! And the rep there said 6 were included in rental and he added 6 more for $5. 3. When we made reservation, no reservation # was given to us and my husband's first and last name were misspelled. 4.The best for last, when the cust rep walked us out to our truck, there was a possibly drug addict or homeless man sitting in the drivers seat who wouldn't get out at first. As we were approaching the truck, the cust rep said there's someone in the truck but didn't attempt to get him out, just watched as my husband coaxed the guy out. Very inappropriate and I'm guessing he was as nervous as me. Why wasn't the truck locked? Also my husband attempted to lock the back padlock with the key but it didn't work

I had a reservation for a 14' truck. Pick up was on Friday, return late Saturday or early Sunday. When I arrived I was told that my truck was available for only one day or I could use a 10' truck for two days. When I told the man behind the counter that my reservation was for a 14' truck he gave me a phone number to call and told me they would play back a recording of my conversation with the person I made the reservation with. His name was Sergio. I was very insulted but I needed the truck so I made the call to 1-800-528-0463. After a couple of transfers I was in contact with a very rude operator and she ended our call by hanging up on me. Not the kind of experience I expected from U-Haul. Michael Fleming

Person behind the counter was rude and looked like he just didn't want to be there!! The tire was so low on air I had to go to nearest gas station and fill up the tire. And must important there were boogers on the radio!!!

I was very unhappy with my experience. I had to wait 4.5 hours for my equipment to be ready when I was told it would all be ready to go. The fuse in the truck was blown to connect to the dolly. (the lights to the dolly were not connecting to the trucks lights) The employee worked for 3 hours on the truck before the manager decided it was a good time to finally come to the store to help. Another hour and a half later a stranger walking by helped and figured out how to fix the problem NOT THE PAID EMPLOYEES OF U-HAUL. I was very unhappy with my experience!

Had to wait over 15 minutes for a customer service rep both when picking up and returning the vehicle. Got charged extra money for gas because they said the gas was not returned full, I made sure I filled it before returning it and the service rep did not want to check it when I returned.

The trailer was supposed to be available on friday at noon. It was not available until 6pm. To make up for the issue I was offered a discount However that evening at pick-up "Nick" told me no discount and guaretee the trailer. After a few phone calls he established whop the sales lady was but said "There are no discounts here". This was just the beginning.

I do not remember the person that helped me; however, I wanted to point out that the customer service at the location was excellent. There was a line of about 6 people with one person working and he was dealing with a scheduling mistake made through the on-line service. Even with other people in the line making comments on the wait time, this employee was able to maintain focus and make sure the customer understood and was satisfied. I was next and the level of customer service did not diminish at all. Overall, excellent.

Make sure the staff knows your policies. I was told I would get a refund for returning my trailer earlier than the appointed return day. I was declined the refund when I returned it more than a day earlier.

According to the dashboard display, one of the tires had low pressure. I added some air from my own compressor at home so it was not a problem. I suggest you check tires more carefuly. Otherwise I found the service an equipment excellent and convenient
