Overall, I am very unhappy with my most recent U-Haul experience and would strongly considering going elsewhere for truck rentals the next time I move. The Brentwood location: The representatives at this location somehow didn't realize that I was making a one way move to Jersey City and they didn't have a truck available to send out for a one way trip. They sent me to the Farmingdale location which was 15 miles west of my home because that was the only other location that had a truck available. At the very least they were apologetic about the mix-up. The Farmingdale location: There was a line out the door and two customer service representatives who didn't seem to feel any sense of urgency whatsoever to get people what they needed. They took their sweet time and were completely unapologetic about the heinous wait. People who move, especially long distance, are usually on a set schedule. They gave me extra miles to compensate for the 30 extra miles I would have to travel because of the mix-up at the Brentwood location but would not give me extra gas. Ridiculous.

I have been trying to tak with someone in U Haul about my horrible expeience ! Please call me at 516 513 2636 so I can talk to someone about my rental experience at the farmingdale U Haul.......... I was going to purchase a 10 foot box truck but the people that work at the Farmingdale U Haul really ned to be more concerned about helping the coustomers! I understand that they might be over worked but I will neber ever use U-Haul again, or even think of buying a truck from U Haul after going thoiugh what I just went though!

Tell people that U-hauls are not allowed on parkways. I had to call the State Troopers directly because your guy told me I could get on the parkway and I didnt believe him. Thank goodness I call. They are not allowed on parkways.

Dear Uhaul, I was going to write you separately, but I am glad to see that upon receiving my receipt it gives me the opportunity to voice my opinion on the service. I have had some poor customer service in my time, but todays experience takes the cake. While not totally Uhaul fault, I firmly believe that had Uhaul had some better policies in place the situation could have been avoided. First off your location was supposed to open at 9am, but it did not. We arrived at 8:50am and could see no one was there to even prep for the days work ahead. Your first employee did not arrive until approximately 9:10am to 9:15am and this is where the problems began. As you can imagine Sunday's are a busy day at Uhaul either for pick ups or returns. Upon my arrival there was already some parked right in front of your door waiting to rent from you. I was second in line and then there were some other parked on the other side of the building. A woman arrived as your employee did and by-passed those of us waiting and went right to the counter. I politely as possible reminded her that there were others waiting and she was not the first in line. As this was taking place the others behind me who were rightfully there first, agreed. Your employee said nothing. This woman became verbally abusive to me for simply pointing out that common courtesy should apply. I had a few words with her but kept my calm as my 7 year old son was with me. As this woman became increasingly verbally abusive I asked your employee to step in and do what was right. I was ignored, he put his head down and kept taking this woman's order. I let it go, but continued to converse with the other customers as we were all in disbelief as to this woman's attitude as well as your employee not stepping up and at least saying something, anything. As I conversed with the others customers she could her what we were discussing which was of course about her and which she did not like as she then threatened violence towards me. Again your employee saying nothing. She became so tempered and threatening that my 7 year actually stepped up to her to protect me. Not that I am expecting your employees to take sides and protect a customer from violence, but at what point to they say something? Anything? She finally finished and left at which time I approached the counter. Still not a word from your employee. Not a sorry, not a I apologize…..nothing. Menawhile a rather large line has formed behind me which has witnessed the whole thing. Which brings me to my point. Why on a day when your systems can see that you have a heavy work log do you not staff properly? You had one person scheduled for a Sunday at 9am and he did not even arrive on time. With each new rental, he must enter data then walk outside to confirm if the vehicle is there or not. Needless to say this is time consuming and not meant for one person. We were advised a second employee would be arriving at 10am. So for me because I

The personnel at this location are great! Friendly, accommodating and efficient. One problem was that I had ordered a furniture appliance dolly, but, upon arrival, they did not have it. The unavailability of this essential dolly for my move made my move more difficult. In future, if you are not going to have equipment which was reserved available at truck pickup, it might be good if you alert customers accordingly so that they may make alternative arrangements.

Very slow service. There were 2 people working but only one aervicing people. There was someone in front of me making arrangements. It wasn't until around 15 mins that the 2nd person can to help. Also, the person checking me in didn't ask for my license, didn't give me w chance to ask any questions on the truck, and also didn't check the gas tank indicator (which was under 3/4 while my contract said 7/8 - by that time I was late so didn't want to come back in and change the contract).

Ricky, once again was dynamite with his service and efficiency in getting me the trailer I needed and out the door. His staff was outside ready to hook the trailer on my car as soon as finished paperwork. ITS THE SERVICE THAT MAKES ME COMEBACK TO THIS BRANCH OF U-HAUL......ALWAYS! Over 7 years.
