The A/C didn't work. I didn't realize until it was to late.

The wiring on the trailer had bare spots that shorted out against the metal walls of the trailer. It's obvious that the wiring has been patched and spliced many times. I lost the trailer lights while driving in the fog through the Smoky Mountains on Interstate 40.

A minor discrepancy would be a bit of administrative difficulty with the computer system when picking up the U-Haul truck. The office personnel managed to work around the computer problems.

It was very chaotic there and took a long time to get checked out and still apparently paperwork was not done correctly. Truck had less than 1/2 tank of gas, but claimed to have more on sheet and the miles were way off. When I arrived my truck wasn't there. It seemed like they gave me a random truck because at end my mileage was less than when I started. The UHaul computer system is very archaic and takes much too long to do the slights changes etc.

It seems that even though I reserved and checked in online, I had to repeat all of it at the location, seemed redundant.

During phone call to make truck reservation, I was not told our credit card would be charged over 3x the rental charge. Despite reserving the truck for the whole day, at a rental rate of $19.95, I was asked by the reservationist when I thought the truck would be returned. I told her, probably shortly after noon, and that we were just moving a few things to a new home right down the street. We used the truck for 4 hours and put less than 3 miles on it. Total bill came to $24.63 - $19.95 daily rental rate, $1.61 tax, $1.00 environmental fee? Two things - This practice of overcharging should have been disclosed at the time of the initial phone reservation. And maybe you could forgo it to customers who also rent and pay monthly for a storage unit at your establishment, as we do.

I originally reserved the moving van with Ms. Cathy Minton at Amelia Island Storage. Ms. Minton has the best customer service skills I have ever seen in the business sector, and I have an established business relationship with Ms. Minton. After several discussions with Ms. Minton, and much of her time, the reservation was made. I hired a local mover to pick up the truck and he and his employees were paid to load the truck. My mover asked me to change the pick up location from Amelia Island Storage to the U-Haul location on 8th Street in Fernandina Beach. This change was made with Ms. Minton, and I received an email confirmation. My mover then suggested that I confirm the reservation with the 8th Street location so that everything was ready to go so he could pick up the truck early on the morning of January 2nd. My friends were driving from out of state to drive the van to South Carolina. On January 1, Tiffany, from the 8th Street location, called me and we confirmed the reservation, confirmed the number of moving pads I would need, etc. She told me the truck would be ready for my mover to pick up as they know him at that location. The next morning, my mover appeared to be late to arrive at my house when I received a call from him stating that Mike at the 8th Street location, did not have a reservation for me. I gave my mover my confirmation number, stated that I had already paid with a credit card, and confirmed the reservation with Tiffany the day before. My mover stated to me that Mike could not find my reservation and I would have to drive to the 8th Street location and start a new reservation. I suspected that Mike was lying and that he fabricated the story told about my reservation so that he could get credit for his 8th Street location for the reservation. I even made that statement to him, posed as a question, and he denied that that was what had happened. Although I happen to be an attorney, the public is not stupid either and most people know exactly what is going on when similar circumstances occur. For U-Haul, one such employee brings negative thoughts and attitudes about the company, quite the opposite of an representative like Ms. Minton. It is my understanding that the employees at the 8th Street location take similar actions on a regular basis. This behavior is so crooked. Moving is very stressful without any extra unforeseen circumstances or aggravations. Mike's actions in requiring a NEW reservation before my mover could pick up a truck caused a ripple effect throughout the day for multiple individuals; my mover had 4 men on the clock while he waited an hour for the reservation to be redone, and multiple others were inconvenienced by Mike's selfish, greedy, deceitful measures to obtain credit for his 8th Street location. I am still very angry that this occurred and I hope that the credit for my original reservation will be credited to Amelia Island Storage, now Compass Storage. Ms. Minton is the individual who
