Truck was dirty inside. There was an accident on the interstate and had traffic backed up for 3 hours and I was late getting back. I called and advised Irby St. All they had to say is that I would have to pay another day. The road blockage was out of my control. You would think that UHAUL would understand. But all they cared about was getting another days rental. Very dissapointed .

The North Irby Street location in Florence, SC, provided excellent, quick, and knowledgeable service. Unfortunately, I didn't just deal with this location. On the morning of my move, I decided I might need a larger trailer. I called 1-800-GO-UHAUL and was told I could pick up a 6x12 trailer at 246 N. Main St. in Mullins, SC--a town thirty miles away from Florence. I drove the forty minutes to Mullins, paid for the 6x12 trailer, and then discovered that the trailer had already been given to someone else. The guy at the Mullins location was incompetent when it came to operating a computer and wasted nearly forty-five minutes of my time trying to reverse the charges on my credit card, in addition to the hour and twenty minutes of driving time and sixty miles of gas wasted. Bottom line: I was "guaranteed" a trailer that wasn't available when I arrived. This cost me time, money, and a major headache. Luckily, the N. Irby location in Florence still had a smaller trailer available when I finished with the Mullins ordeal. In contrast to my experience in Mullins, the guys in Florence had me hooked up and ready to guy in less than ten minutes. U-Haul would be well advised to review their association with the dealer in Mullins. He could learn a thing or two from the dealership in Florence.

Although I was happy with the customer service, I was disappointed there were not any open trailers available for a one way trip anywhere in Florence. I had to drive 2 hours to my destination, then 2 hours back to Florence to return the trailer, then the 2 hour trip back to my destination. I can only hope I find an open trailer available for a one way trip to Florida in a few weeks. If not, I would imagine this will be my last U-haul trip since I will buy a trailer before having to go thru that again.

I have always used Uhaul for all of my moving needs until today... I will never use Uhaul again or recommend it to anyone. I would rather pay Penske little extra and not deal with the headache. I should not feel belittled or talked down to by Some customer support representative who just got out of High School.

Was promised a free month of storage with one way rental and when it was time to move in no place with in 40 miles to accommodate me so I had to keep the truck extra days and ended up paying for a storage

My comments and concerns are in reference to Uhaul and not N. Irby St. location. I was very displeased with the how Uhaul sent me information for my drop off location. I received several texts for 2 different locations. I took my rental to the location from the last text I received. I got a call from Uhaul stating that I did not drop off my truck at the location they had in their system. The location they had was from one of the earlier text messages I received. I was not

The location & equipment wasn't the issue - However, the information on the website wasn't clear regarding time to return truck and storage "free" first months rent wasn't clear. The fact that I could have been charged an additional day because I picked the truck up at 7 am as opposed to 8:30 pm would have been nice if the website and/or U-HAUL employee conveyed that there is a 24 hour two day rental - At 3 am on the day of move was a stress I didn't need and delayed me about an hour to my destination. It subsequently was resolved but the fact that I had to deal with the issue made me very upset... Now the storage reservation really made me upset initially and I didn't appreciate them up selling the original unit I reserved by showing me à higher price unit ("climate controlled") - I also felt the "free" first months rent should have been applied since I made the reservation through the U-HAUL website. Instead they gave me a $15.00 move-in price and sprung a $25.00 Administrative fee on me - I really didn't like that and I was irate because there was no mention of this additional charge on U-HAUL's website. However, the Facility Manager was very professional and after talking about it I had no other choice but to leave the truck with him and pay $40.00 which I didn't plan on paying - It would have been nice if U-HAUL would have honored there website coupon and reimbursed me $45.58. And last but not least the fact that I was charged $6.95 regarding my storage reservation was very unethical as well - Charging me and making me write a review to get the $6.95 back is not the way you should get a review from a customer. SHAME ON YOU U-HAUL! - I question if I will use them in my next move.

Bear in mind the following rating is not necessarily in reference to this particular location, but U-Haul in general. We were very, VERY disappointed in the lack of communication going on in this company. Twice I confirmed my first reservation only to be told we were on a waiting list 20 minutes before we were to pick up the truck. Shane at a West Columbia U-Haul was no help. After calling around and finally speaking to Sam in an Arizona call center, we drove to a second reservation spot that he made for us, only to be told upon arrival that there was no truck...AGAIN. Through a series of transfers, we ended up speaking to Brandy in the Columbia, SC area traffic center, and were assured we would receive a truck that day, that we should wait by the phone to receive a call. Five hours later (while the people who had driven from out of town to help us move sat around), we decided to call yet again to see where we were on this alleged waiting list. After a guilt trip from the West Columbia U-Haul employee about how they typically don't do business "this way"... whatever that means... we were told there WAS, in fact, a truck ready for us. When were they planning to call us, I wondered? That said, the truck ran fine and got us to our destination, but by 1:30 in the morning instead of 8:30 that evening as originally planned. Did U-Haul offer a discount for the heinous inconvenience? No. Case in point? We will never use U-Haul again. Ever.

I'll go Ryder next time. I rented a truck for 24 hours only allowed six. Your customer service is horoable. I had to call in friends with trailers to get my move finished. 843-758-3035. Call me to discuss this matter I am stopping payment thru my bank until this matter can be rectified.
