Staff was well informed about the vehicle and assisted me in very professional manner. Check in was quick and smooth, the store was well organized and in fact I was able to purchase a cover for the queen size mattress which i had move and was to be stored in my garage for my daughter.

I made my reservation at 4833 Thornton Ave, Fremont. The day before the rental, they called and said that they did not have the truck available at the contract time. It took some time to find an alternative and inconvenience to me. This is the second time that a rental from this location had to be changed due to lack of equipment.

Don't leave a customer stranded on the side of a highway (880SB) for 6.5 hours prior to being towed. In addition; don't insult said customer by offering a 60% discount for service--the truck drove with my belongings for roughly 8 miles prior to breaking down. The majority of my move was facilitated by a tow truck. 1. 7:00 AM | Picked up the truck. Pickup location's service was impeccable; on time, prompt checkout of the truck, and had the requested equipment (which is leaps beyond the service I've received from other Uhaul locations). 2. 1:15 PM | Had the truck loaded and began the drive from Union City to San Jose. The truck was 90% full, due to traffic (averaging 20 mph and the heat, we opted to keep A/C off to try and prevent any possible overheating situation. 3. 1:30 PM | The truck stall on 880SB between the Stevenson and Auto Mall Pkwy Exits. Placed my first call to Roadside at 1:32PM and they indicated that a service provider was on the way. Wrench icon present on dash. 4. 2:12 PM | Text received from Uhaul indicating that J&J Tire and Road Service was being dispatched with an ETA of 60 mins. 5. 2:32 PM | Truck started up and we were able to limp the truck along prior to stalling again just before the Mission Blvd off-ramp. Check engine light and wrench present. 6. ˜3:10 PM | J&J Roadside shows up; visual inspection doesn't yield results. Pulled negative battery cable, did not clear dash lights. 7. ˜3:20 PM | Able to turn the ignition over - mechanic and I agreed that we would attempt to continue limping the truck along to see if we could reach the destination, or at least make it to a safe exit off the highway. 8. 3:36 PM | Stalled out again, 200 feet past previous location. Mechanic took another look, stated that it required an OBDII reader to find out the reason for the CEL. 9. 3:57 PM | The mechanic continued to follow me; stalling every 100-200 yards or so. We tried feathering the throttle, shifting the transmission to keep RPM's up, slowly accelerating to see if it had any effect - nothing would allow it to run for any length or safely. 10. 4:00 PM | Decision was made to forego any efforts to drive the truck. Mechanic took off and arranged a tow. 11: 5:05 PM | Still no tow available. Roadside called, turns out that they called 3-4 tow companies; none would take the call due to the loaded truck. Rep stated that he called a specialist and that there was be a truck in the next 45-60 mins. 12: 5:31 PM | Uhaul called back; the aforementioned specialist would no longer take the call because the truck was loaded--which (I presumed) was the reason that a specialist was called. The rep advised me that I could/would need to seek reimbursement through the pick-up location. Another call would be placed to another specialist to tow the truck. 13. 5:50 PM | A representative from an unrelated tow company stopped by to see if there was anything that he could do--at this point, he'd past the truck 4

The check-in for the truck was fast and convenient. The person came outside and checked in the truck using his smartphone. Using technology to help customers check-in and check-out the rental trucks faster is always a welcomed sign of U-Haul embracing technology to make their customers' lives easier. A friendly greeting and thank you for your business would have been appreciated. Someone was waiting for my trailer so we were rushed, which I understand. I was also charged a $40 Wrong Destination Charge in error. They did refund it after I brought it to their attention. I do like this facility though. They have been very friendly and knowledgeable in the past. I will use them again.

I RENTED A UHAUL 10' TRUCK ON 8/2/14 AND RETURNED IT AFTER 24 HOURS. I USED IT FOR 60 MILES TO MOVE FURNITURE FROM NEWARK TO OAKLAND. WHEN I SIGNED THE RENTAL CONTRACT, THE EMPLOYEE, BY THE NAME ASHLEY MENTIONED THAT THE GAS LEVEL WAS 3/8 BUT WHEN SHE DELIVERED THE CAR THE LEVEL WAS 1/4. SHE SAID UHAUL WILL BE ADJUSTED WITH I RETURN THE CAR. SHE INITIAL THIS BY HAND. THE WAS NOT MY PROBLEM. WHEN PREPARING THE CONTRACT, ASHLEY ALSO TOLD ME THAT IF THE GAS LEVEL IS BELOW 3/8 AND IF I DON'T FILL UP TO 3/8 WHEN I RETURN THE CAR, UHAU WILL CHARGE ME $5 PER GALLON, AND IF THE GAS LEVEL IS MORE 3/8 UHAUL REIMBURSE ME. I TRUST HER WORDS AND SIGNED THE CORRECT. SINCE I DIDN'T KNOW HOW MANY GALLONS THE TRUCK TAKES PER MILE TO BE ON SAFE SIDE, I FILLED UP THE TRUCK WITH $60 BUT USED IT FOR ONLY 60 MILES. WHEN I RETURNED THE TRUCK TO UHUAL THE GAS LEVEL WAS 7/8. AS PER ASHLEY'S WORDS, I EXPECTED THAT UHAUL WILL REIMBURSE ME FOR DIFFERENCE OF 1/4 AND 7/8 GAS. WHEN MY CREDIT CARD WAS CHARGED IT DIDN'T REFLECT THE ADJUSTMENT. I REPORTED PROBLEM TO THE MANAGER BECAUSE ASHLEY WAS NOT IN ON MONDAY . HE TOLD ME UHAUL WILL REIMBURSE ME. AS A RESULT, I LOST ABOUT $45 TO UHAUL. MY ADVICE: UHAUL EMPLOYEES SHOULDN'T BE MISLEADING CUSTOMERS WITH A WRONG INFORMATION. I WILL NEITHER GO TO THIS LOCATION NEXT TIME I RENT A TRUCK NOR RECOMMEND IT TO MY OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS.

I was harassed on phone by an gent and then the manger. And was threatened that I'll be charged $50 for bring the truck later than 3pm. When I picked up in the morning the agent told if I can't bring it before 3pm , I can call and let them know , but no extra fee and the rental is for full day. I was contacted before 3pm and I told that I am running late and then the harassment started. However when I returned I was not charged,but the experience was very bad and the lady and the manager were very rude.

Scheduling can be improved. I had reserved online a 20' truck for the morning and asked for pickup in a different location (thirty miles away from where I eventually had to pick it up). However, the reservation confirmation told me that the truck was not available until the afternoon at 3 PM. I WAS NOT alerted to that change and only found out when I looked closely at the confirmation. I called up UHaul scheduling directly. I was told that the only available 20' truck for morning pickup was at the Thornoton location, thirty miles away from my preferred location. They were good enough to add 30 miles of additional miles for me.

I really like the guy at the reception. He was there with a smile on his face. I am of the opinion that smile does costs a lot to a business, the more smiles that the business gives the more return business the business gets. Not pnly the smile he was helpful and understood the pain one goes through during a move and was fun to talk to. Keep up the good work. Smiles Ravi Jha
