The gas policy is really irritating. Having to fill it to 9/16 of a tank? It would be less of a hassle to get the truck on a full tank and fill it back up to a full tank. That alone makes me not want to use uhaul again.

When the dealer gave me the paperwork before I left, she noted that the gas gage was at 3/8 full. When I got into the vehicle, the gas gage was between 1/4 and an 1/8 full. I marked on the paper where the gage was at when I got in, but foolishly did not show her this before I left the lot. Before I brought the truck back to the rental location, I made sure that I put the correct amount of gas into the truck to reflect where the gage was before I left the lot, but when I returned, the girl at the counter went to check the gas gage and noticed that it was not at the 3/8 mark. I showed her where I marked the paper to reflect how much gas was in the truck before I left, but she told me that if I did not fill the truck up to the 3/8 mark, they were going to charge me $30, plus the $5 a gallon for the extra gas. When I told her I was not going to fill the truck up for them, she went to get the original woman who set up my rental. I explained to the woman where the gas gage was, that I had already put enough gas in the truck to bring it back to the original gas gage setting. She told me that she would charge the $30 + $5 a gallon for the rest of the gas as well. I was not happy. I only drove 50miles, was very mindful of the "Economy" gage in the truck to make sure that I was getting the best fuel milage, and this woman tells me that according to her calculations that because of the way I was driving, I only got 6 miles per gallon. I told her that she may want to make it practice to do a walk around with her customers from now on before the rental leaves the lot to make sure that both parties agree on gas, condition of truck, etc. before ripping off another customer. I will never go back to this location to rent a U-haul, nor to get swimming pool supplies again (I have a pool). I am highly unsatisfied with the service I received at this location.
