Will, the manager, was great! He is always very helpful and always takes care of me. He helped me move from MD to VA and was great and now he has taken care of me when i moved back to MD. Great Location!

Listen carefully to question(s) posed by the customer and answer the actual question. I attempted to dot all the I's and cross all the T's, but still ended up having the U-Haul location charge my credit card and close the contract when I specifically asked them not to until I came back to pay with cash. People who do not have a lot of money need options and clear answers as to why certain charges are being applied. If I had a lot of money I would have bought a new couch from a store and had the store foot the delivery bill. I bought a used couch and picked it up myself using U-Haul. People who do not have a lot of money are using your service. Be more respectful to the crowd that you service!

I made a " reservation " for a 6x12ft trailer online...so I thought. I get there wait in line for 20min to find out they don't have the trailer I reserved. They tell me they don't have one that size. And if I wanted that size to call a 1800 number to find out where there was one. The lady on the phone was kinda rude. She told me I did not reserve one at this store but I would like it to be this store. She then told me the only store that had one was 15 miles away. But they could get me a smaller trailer. I did not like this idea but had no choice. I go back in and wait another 20min for help. And no sort of apology or any type of compinsation at all. I had to make 2 extra trips due to the smaller trailer.

Pulling into this location to drop off our rental was frustrating!! First off, plan on having to maneuver your vehicle in a tight, congested area while on an incline. Next, expect little to no semblance of polite customer service here. We had to ask all the questions about returning our rental and were made to feel stupid for asking them! By the end of the ordeal I had to drop my kill-em-with-kindness act just so we could move the process along, get our receipt, and get out of there. I'd rather be polite, but it seemed curt and annoyed responses worked better on these employees... We'll be glad to never go back.

Let me preface by saying that I am generally pleased with Uhaul. I have a Uhaul-installed hitch and have rented dozens of times over the past few years, you have an effective business model, diligent staff and reasonable prices and plan to continue my patronage. The registration sticker for some reason was never sent to me after I did the MVA e-reg, I had the paper registration and receipts for everything being current. The staff that was at this location at approximately 1:10pm 8/21/15 (an African American male with short hair and African American female) requested documentation. I showed them my temporary registration dated in May, they both insisted this was not applicable due to the fact that in their view "temporary" meant 30 days, this interpretation is not reflected anywhere on the document. I then supplied documentation for my permanent registration on my phone and they both said that this was insufficient, no reason was given. I returned to my car and got my paper registration and was told in no uncertain terms that no official documentation would be accepted and that I needed to supply a sticker, and a sticker only (this is very likely a violation of state law since my paper registration is an official state document). I grudgingly agreed to the ad hoc redefined policy and said I would return. I went to the MVA and obtained a sticker after about an hour that I did not have. Upon returning I was informed by a member of the next shift (Female, black hair, of Asian descent) that my registration had been cancelled by the staff despite my saying I would return and though the trailer I had originally reserved was still there I would need to take the 6x12 which is twice as expensive. I grudgingly agreed. The staff at this location was short (aside from those who helped me put the trailer on, whom are always excellent at this location) and generally unsympathetic. I have never had a significant issue at a Uhaul location that I thought warranted a formal complaint, and recognize the imperfect science of making things work in your particular vocation. I look forward to being a Uhaul customer regularly, however I will avoid supporting this particular location if it is possible.

UHaul in general is very hard to coordinate with... I had very poor communication with a woman about multiple topics. 1. I was told I could pick up the trailer early with no additional fees. 2. I was told I could pick up the trailer without my mom (as the reservation was in her name). Both of these items were not true. Also - when it comes to dropping off (I wish I had the guys name) but there is a middle aged man who receives the equipment when returning. Not Marco, because Marco was actually helpful... there is another guy there who was literally the worst. He took his sweet time with "checking the reservation in" as I told him my car was extremely low on gas (we wanted to make it before UHaul closed). I understand there is protocol to every position, but give me a break... We could've gone straight up first to drop the equipment off and then confirmed the reservation right after. Rant over... Never using this UHAUL location again. Thanks, but no thanks.

Make more clear what the "rental period" is for a given piece of equipment. I rented the trailer for a little less than twenty-four hours and was charged for two "rental periods" which is okay, if you make it perfectly clear that the posted "rate" is for a rental period and not per day, which is not clear nor was it stated during the rental process. Based on the conversations I overheard from other clients, this is a pretty consistent complaint. The cost is okay, but no one likes to get surprised.

The young lady that was working that day, I believe she was a manager, was incredibly rude and dismissive as soon as we walked in the door. There was no approach or warm welcome. She and the young man working waited for us to approach them. In which time they made it abundantly clear that they did not have any need for our business. My wife had purchased many boxes and had misread the information stating that we could return the boxes for credit. Both employees rudely and tersely told us "It's on the box if you read it." Really? That's an acceptable response. No compassion, no aligning, no understanding that a mistake was made on our part. When we asked if we could recycle them, they pointed us to the corner of the store and told us to take them there. My truck was full, no one was in the store, and not one person offered to help us. Lastly, we purchased a Flat-Screen TV box and asked about returning it. Let me be clear, the box wasn't used. It rode in the back of the U-Haul because our television has a base. We were fine knowing the box wouldn't be taken. I was not fine with the dismissive, holier-than-thou approach the woman took to investigating the box. Once again, she made it clear that we were annoying her and her staff with a simple request. We took all of our boxes and despite not having the room for them, we are going to hold on to them. The only reason I will ever work with U-Haul again would be a dire emergency. I'd rather buy a trailer and hire movers then ever deal with someone as disgruntled and disrespectful as the staff at this location.

They forgot to place the paid equipment in the truck rented. The engine check light came on 22 minutes away from our destination. Lets not leave out the horse power delay to get to our destination, kicking inn and out. Having to do 45 mph on a road way of 65 mph do to delay and truck hesitations. Only to arrive in Hagerstown late and discover that the truck lighting would not remain steady while offloading. Even the equipment rented give us hesitation, with it's refusal to roll steady in offloading. This could have been a better experience after speaking with customer service.

I would not recommend UHaul in general especially this location. We were charged for things we did not purchase. The woman working there when we picked up the trailer was extremely rude. The drop off though it is stated that easy drop off just check in and your on your way is a joke. We were told to try and get the trailer back in parking space in the back of the parking lot. The lot was full and no real room to park it. Overall I would rate my UHaul experience a 1 out of 10.
