Fix the vehicles in order to have all the electric instruments availables, the gas level was not working as supossed and they were arguing about it saying that it was my fault. Be careful with that at the time of the renting

i ordered a van online and chose the insurance option for the Voss Road location. After i had finished the reservation, i received an email confirmation moving me to the sharpstown location, which would have been my 3rd or 4th choice. when i arrived at the location, i was told the van wasn't available for a one-way trip and was given a larger truck for same price (not as convenient). my online order which had the insurance, was not found by the local contact, so i had to go all through the insurance items again. coupled with it being Labor Day weekend, there was only one agent and there was a wait to be served, even with a preapproved, online order. i resent the "bait and switch" of both the location and the vehicle type. if vans are not available for one-ways, then the website should state that. I won't be using U Haul again.

The truck smelled from Inside. Maybe a homeless man used it to spend a night. It wouldn't hurt if the staff smiled a little. It was like talking to a robot.

This was one of the worst business experiences I have ever had. Firstly, there was ONE service representative. I was the second person in line. Because of his inept performance, and the people in front of me not having working credit cards, I waited in this line for 30 minutes. Secondly, the truck that I had reserved and confirmed was not there! And, according to the service representative, the truck that had not yet been returned was the ONLY truck I could have since I had reserved it for a one-way drop off. I ultimately waited for one hour, only to be forced to wait in line again for an additional 30 minutes. When I attempted to interrupt the man at the desk, other customers who had arrived after I did became irate thinking that I was trying to cut in front of them. By this time, there was a line of approximately 10 people. The service rep did absolutely nothing to rectify the situation. He was unable to multi-task and deal with what should have been simple situations. My wife was waiting in the car outside of the store for me. She phoned UHaul's customer service number while I was in the store. She was on hold for more than 20 minutes and then was cut off. She phoned again, ultimately spoke with someone who could only state that she understood our frustration. NO solutions were offered -- only "understanding of our frustration!" Ultimately the one vehicle that we could rent, according to the service rep, arrived more than an hour late. And, at this point, a young woman who was efficient and intelligent took over the desk. She dealt with multiple customers and multiple situations clearly and confidently. The young man continued to make excuses of having just arrived, etc., etc. Again, NO attempt to solve problems -- only give excuses. The upshot of this is that I have now missed a very important meeting for my own business. My wife is now running around attempting to deal with the moving issues for which we rented the truck -- with everything now running very late. I will NEVER rent from UHaul again, and I will do my best to get the word out that UHaul's customer service is the worst I have, in 68 years of life, ever experienced. I sincerely hope our experience is better on the return end of this rental -- and that it was only the Fondren store that is so poorly run. The young woman who came on duty at approximately 6:00PM should get a raise and be promoted. The young man who was there at 4:30 should be fired. He is not an asset to UHaul!

Everything was wonderful! The truck, even though its old, was very well maintained, and taken care of. Paint looked great. Employee was extremely friendly, explained all the costs, fees, and how to avoid the extra fees (ie sweeping out the truck, no trash in the cab).

The truck had a hole in the roof. After two hours of loading the truck, it started raining and water came in through the roof. The clueless person I called at Uhaul actually wanted me to unload everything and put it on a different truck! Seriously??? It took over an hour for someone to come and repair the leak, which added at least an hour to the truck loading process. The truck inspection must not have been very thorough. It rains every day in Houston. In addition, I got the truck with just over 1/4 tank of gas, so had to fill up before going anywhere. I'm aware we return it the same way, but it's a pain to put that exact amount in - and I was not going to give Uhaul any extra gas after I got stuck with a defective truck! Can't you start people off with a full tank?

While the trailer was clean, it smelled like a dirty litter box. Probably should have been hosed out after the last rental. The staff was very helpful and very friendly. Service was quick. I was in and out in about 10 minutes.
