i was told the rental rate would be 59 cents/mile when I made my reservation for a Saturday when I picked up the truck I was charged 99 cents when I questioned this I was informed that 59 cents was incorrect. then I was charged for cdw even tho I declined this. I returned the following day and was refunded this charge

When I first arrived to pick up the vehicle, there was no one at the desk. I waited at least ten minutes and then called the pick up location phone number, hoping that some one would come to the desk to assist me. No one came and the call then connected to U-Haul customer assistance and I explained the situation to the rep who answered. She said to wait a couple of more minutes and if no one showed up to give customer assistance a call back. Fortunately in a few minutes, some one finally came to the desk. There should either be some one stationed at the desk or a way to signal the work area that there is a customer a the desk. My returning the vehicle was handled very quickly and professionally and I was in and out in about 5-6 minutes instead of the 20-25 minutes it took when I first arrived at the location. If I had been treated the same way when I returned the vehicle, I most definitely would have given a "Below average", or even a "poor", rating in the survey.

I interacted with three different employees. Khalil was very helpful and professional throughout my experience at pick up and during the refund. He acknowledged the intake person made a mistake regarding the fuel level when I showed him the photo and he helped process my refund. He should be commended for his customer service. Sal was not knowledgeable of the products and time the business closed (which resulted in additional charges) and made no effort to educate himself before completing the transaction. Darron, the manager, addressed some of my concerns about the incorrect bill when I called the first time and processed a partial refund, but did not return my second phone call to address the other inaccuracies. When I went to the store to secure a refund on day 3 (because he did not return my call on day 2), he provided minimal customer service and walked out of the store to talk on his cell phone before the refund was complete. (I showed him a photograph of the fuel level to confirm that the intake person made a mistake and he did not accept this.) Unprofessional and disinterested in customer service - he should consider the big picture and refund $15 to keep his customers.

The truck didn't have a lock. A key for a lock was on the ring, but there wasn't one connected to the back. Didn't realize this until I got home with the truck.

When I came to the place the two people at the front desk were laying down and poor customer service and they gave another person of the family a free day and charge me another day this place pick and choose who they want to help and deal with it'd the worst experience ever. Poor customer service on the phone. We called before closing they pick the phone and hang up its poor etiquette. Bad experience never again.

I have to say, my experience was excellent. I don't typically do survey's, but wanted to comment as well as commend the professionalism I received on Friday 6/26/15 from Jameel Newman as well as today 6/29/15 from Darron Spriggs. Both employees performed their job by providing good customer service, as they multi-tasked while maintaining their professionalism. Therefore, yes, because of their professionalism, I would recommend this particular location.

U-Haul has a lot of hidden fees that aren't explained correctly or at all to customers. To be quoted a price and then have to come up with nearly 50% extra it's a little disheartening. The signs that are posted should also let people know that they have to pay for miles in addition to the adverised rate.
