A dolly was listed as optional, but one was already in the truck. Because of it's location we had to break the seal and move it. I feel charging for a dolly is over the top, but having one in each truck forced us into the extra charge. I don't feel like U-Haul has a focus on customer satisfaction or convenience, just a focus on driving up charges with as many fees as possible.

I visited this location several times over a couple of days in prep from my move. I worked with different personnel each time and all we generally pleasant an helpful. Everything about my equipment rental experience went very well...with one exception (loading my car onto a tow dolly). At approx 5:00pm on May 26, Erik Hoffman assisted me in that effort. Before I explain the problem, let me first commend Erik for being creative in finding a solution afterwards. However, the damage had already been done. Here's what happened, when loading my 2008 Saab 9-3 onto the dolly, the nose "bottomed out" into the metal ramp because the incline of the ramp was too steep for my car. A small (about 2in X 2in), but very noticeable, section of paint chipped off. I can provide a photo taken at the scene. It seems that is problem that could have been avoided in the first place had either: a) Erik had more experience loading dollies; b) UHaul had a protocol for loading low profile cars onto a tow dolly. Erik solved the ramp incline problem by propping up the ends of the metal ramps with small blocks to lessen the incline. But, I would have much rather not had to endure the damage to my vehicle in the first place. I can send a photo. As I was driving to Nashville, the solution occurred to me...and was then confirm by the guys at the Nashville location. To avoid the same problem when unloading the vehicle, they parked the truck/dolly on an area with an incline/up slope. Logically, this lessened the effective steepest of the metal ramps...and the car came off just fine. They then told me that's how they always load/unload low profile cars. For them, it was "common knowledge". Now I understand that everyone is not privileged to the same experiences and that one important way we all learn is through making mistakes. Erik has to get experience somehow. I just wish it wasn't at my expense. Though we're all subject to the "luck of the draw". Had I been loaded in Nashville for a move to Indy, it would have been a different story. My biggest concern with Erik was that he was completely unapologetic. He said he never seen that happen (which may be true), but also shifted the blame to me. As he was guiding my up the ramp, when he saw the nose about "bottom out" he did give a stop gesture. I stopped a instantly, but still dinged the nose just enough to scape of the paint (due to the rough surface of the metal ramps). Erik first comment was, "I told you to stop." I didn't respond because what's the use. But I certainly didn't appreciate the blame shifting. As I see it, it was his job to instruct me how to safely load the car on the dolly. Granted, if he'd never seen that happen before, he'd have no reason to suspect it this time. But when it did occur, his reaction to it was poor. All this sums to these points: 1) many UHaul customers are novices with matters of driving large trucks and towing trailers, so we expect sound guidanc

Wipe down the cabin with some disinfectant wipes...I feel like the people before me smoked 15 packs of cigarettes on their trip.

Very poor service and unfriendly reception. It put a negative shade on the whole experience. I will unlikely use this location again and will start getting multiple quotes because I would rather pay more than have to deal with the rudeness and negative attitudes of this staff.

I asked for a Military or AAA Discount, and was told NO! I was charged for unopened pads, which doesn't seem right AT ALL!!

Customer service was outstanding, employees were very helpful and courteous. However, the truck was hard to start, the auxiliary brake engaged for no reason while driving, and the truck leaked from the roof or wall all over our upholstered furniture and bedding. It's a shame that this location has such great employees, but substandard equipment. I am hopeful that Uhaul will stand by their insurance, and that the problematic truck in an anomaly. I would still likely recommend this location, and would likely patronize it again based solely on the outstanding customer service.

Pick up and check in were effortless. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The equipment (open trailer) was dirty and needed swept out, but I assume that it was overlooked because the location was very busy. The cleanliness did not affect our usage. Would also note that the lobby was hot, stuffy and smelled of body odor.

The only good part of the experience was the staff at the location and the truck itself. I was disconnected twice from the call center. I was told by the on-location staff that if I needed the full 24 hours, I could simply call to extend my contract. The person at the call center said I may be charged $50 if my extension caused a conflict with another reservation. I told her that I was told extending my contract would be "free," and that's what was going to happen. She said it'd be up to the manager. When I arrived to drop off the truck 2 hours before my 24 hours was up, the staff simply checked the vehicle over and let me go. Lesson learned: on-site staff is good, call center is bad. Website is mediocre. By the time I got to the end of my reservation, it told me the truck I reserved was no longer available. Which kind of defeats the purpose of putting that process online.
