This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. I had to wait an hour to pick up a truck. There was only one person working for most of that hour. At the front of the line was a woman who had made a reservation for a truck, and they did not have it. She had people who had taken off work to help her move, but there was no truck for her.

Hire competent representative. My order was moved from North Jackson to South. No problem, the rep insist I have to bring it back to south. The rep also limit my rental till 6pm same day claiming it's Saturday and she already re-rent the equipment for that time slot. Very unprofessional group of people.

The location was fine. The problem was the 800 customer service and the system. Let me explain: 1. It took probably a dozen phone calls to arrange the final pick up of the trailer. 2. It took 3 phone calls to arrange the final drop off of the trailer. 3. The "non-Uhaul" dealers are a joke. The one the 800 service designated for me to pick up from was Fat Al's Meat. Which had a few uhauls in front. Next time I need something I'll check out one of uhaul's competitors. The folks at the Hwy 80 location were fine. It was just dealing with the 800 number stuff that was such a pain.

The morning staff was very friendly and helpful. The afternoon staff? Not so much. The guy checking my vehicle in with me was more interested in his personal phone conversation than me, the customer that was paying his salary. The only time he spoke to me was when he was done and walking away and I asked if I should go inside, he pointed to the front door and said "yeah." Very poor customer service. The lady inside was friendly, but not as friendly as the morning lady. You definitely need to look at your customer facing staff members.

The staff was extraordinarily unprofessional. One gentleman, who was clearly working, was wearing sunglasses while indoors. I overheard him talking about "some ole ass bitch" and "some bald head girl" behind to counter with a coworker. The same employee then later shouted at a friend ,who had accompanied me to drop me off who was waiting outside in his car (after our 3rd trip to the store), that he needed to move his car in a very rude (and borderline assaultive) manner. The first time I arrived the equipment I had reserved was not available at the scheduled time (though they admitted their inventory indicated that the appliance dolly I reserved was in stock) and I was told they would call me if someone brought one back (would have been nice of they called before I made the drive). The truck I received was very loud and the check engine light was on.

U-haul can improve for the next customer by informing all employees of rules, protocol, and guidelines so that everyone is one accord and get rid of outdated equipment and maintain the maintenance of the older equipment. I found out at the last minute that the 26' truck could only be reserved and used for local moves. I was told at the store that I could not rent the 26' truck that they had available because the drop box keys were misplaced. When mistakes are made as such causing inconvenience to the customer (like causing me to make 2 trips for extra items that would have suffice if I had 2 extra feet), accommodations should be made. In addition, the truck was extremely OLD and it was obvious that the maintenance had not been maintained. The truck jerked uncontrollably for most of the ride and was extremely slow picking up speed; it felt like the transmission was going out. The speedometer randomly stopped working. And as the customer, I had to improvise on how to handle the situation about the broken drop box for convenience. After telling the customer service representative that I would leave the keys in the ashtray and the passenger door unlocked, I was told she noted the account but I still received a call the next morning asking me about the keys and I asked them if I could change my credit card info before being charged and I was told that I would be called back. When I called customer service a few hours later, I was told that it was not possible to change the credit cards after the equipment was retuned but the rep I spoke with that morning did not inform me of this. Unorganization and miscommunication was presented to me and NO accommodations of any kind were made to resolve any of my issues.
