Hire someone who has customer service experience, knows how to do their job and that really wants to work. This was the worst moving experience of my life.

I called U-Haul to change my reservation; however, I was transferred 7 times. Each time the U-Haul representative said my case was not within their jurisdiction. I will do business with a different company in the future and I will recommend others to do the same.

I had attempted to rent a truck in Clinton MS at the Springridge Rd. location. After making an order for a 14 foot truck on 8/20/14 for a move on 8/26/14 and following up to confirm that order on 8/25/14, I showed up to received the truck but there was no truck there. They informed me that morning that I would have to go to Jackson to pick up at truck. This was extremely upsetting and costly for me because my move was in Clinton. I had to drive to Jackson, put gas in the truck for my move, drive to Clinton in the truck and return it to Jackson. While the people in Jackson were good, the Clinton, MS experience sucked big time. As much as I am pleased with Jackson site, I am thoroughly displeased with the Clinton site. Kenneth E. Vance

The truck was rented with no air conditioning. This is the South and it is summer time, so unfortunately it was extremely hot. I attempted to call the Uhaul location I rented the Uhaul from but the calls were being forwarding to an answering service. The Uhaul was already cranked up when drove off so I did not know that the starting was delayed. It takes at least 1 minute to start the truck. I though the started was going out on the truck. The acceleration was slow and the truck shook violently when driving on the road. The truck hesitated on acceleration and the wheel would lock at times when I tried to park it or back up to load my items. The truck drove so bad and I was so hot I had to pull to the side of the road and call Roadside Assistance. I did not receive a returned call from the message I left with the answering service for the store I rented the Uhaul from to call me back. I parked the Uhaul at the house and the Uhaul roadside assistance came to my house to check out the truck. The mechanic indicated that the temperatures in that truck rise above 100 degrees since it is so hot and the truck should not have been rented to me. There was no oil, water, or tire issues. However, the mechanic drove the truck to test it out and stated that the transmission is bad, this was the reason for the hesitation while driving and the slow drive on acceleration. The mechanic stated, "the truck is old and should go to the junk yard." The mechanic stated that this truck should not have been rented to me in that condition. I finally received a call back from the General Manager, Justin. He stated that I would not be charged for the time that the truck was turned in since it was suppose to be returned at 6PM but I could not get it to them due to the break-down. The manager stated to return the truck by the following day at 7AM. However, I returned the truck back the same day (Friday) by 7:45 PM...the store closed at 8PM. When I asked about the discount regarding the bad experience with no even really getting to use the truck the customer service representatives stated that they were unable to discount more than the truck fee from $39.95 to $19.95. The representatives stated that only the General Manager, Justin would be able to apply additional discounts and he had left for the day. I was provided with the General Manager's direct phone number to call by Saturday morning. I called Justin (General Manager) at the number provided but he was not available. I left a voicemail for a return call. I also called the store but the calls were again being forwarded to the answering service. I left a message with my complaint and requested a call back from the General Manager. To-date, I have not received a call back from the messages left. This was by far the worst truck rental experience I have had. I would think that there would be at least a call back and apology regarding my experience from the General Manager. This rental experience

The local management would not allow a 24 hour rental of the trailer I reserved and requested online. False advertisement when the local will never honor the rental agreement. Thank god it was a clear day - no rain because the option provided me for my rental needs was a open carrier. I had no choice but to accept what was offered because of my moving timeline.

First of all. When I arrived on Saturday afternoon - a high traffic time for movers - there were only two employees there and only ONE working the counter. The one working the counter was obviously new because every transaction she processed she had to call someone for assistance to walk her thru. If took her thirty minutes to assist the person in front of me. Then upon return, there was only one person on duty and the company wanted to charge an extra day for returning the vehicle an hour earlier than the time I checked out the vehicle. The $0.99 a mile rate, I also considered outlandish and overpriced. Therefore, the lack of value of your customers' time and poor customer service coupled to make this experience dire. To improve, I would hire competent staff and properly train them.

This was my second rental in two weeks. The clerks are very helpful, but only one person working the desk cannot handle the flood of people on Fridays and Saturdays during this time of year. The wait is extremely long. I had a reservation for a trailer for Saturday, July 26th and had to wait in line for an hour and an half to get up to the desk. On Friday, August 1st, it only took 30 minutes, but the line got extremely long behind me.

The truck itself was not in good condition. If I had not been on a time line, I would have not used your services. After returning the truck, they still had an additional charge. I felt they should have refunded me because of the equipment used. I felt this was an injustice and I will not recommend your company to any one. They quoted me a smaller truck initially but I had to accept a larger truck than what they quoted. I have the emails to back this. This is a lesson learned for me. Just remember reputation is everything and so is good service. Have a good day!!!

The moving crew I sent to pick up the truck was not allowed to pick it up. Apparently I had a $5.27 unpaid charge. Instead of letting me pay in over the phone at the store location, they made me call a 1-800 number. Then I was placed on hold for a total of about 30 minutes while the person tried to reach a local person to take the payment, which was ironic since the local store said told the driver they couldn't take the payment. I was never called after the last rental and told that I had a remaining charge, so this was completely unexpected. It delayed the move by at least an hour and caused me to be very late for work. All this was after I reserved the truck at another location and told them when I wanted it. They reserved for another time and did not tell me they could not have it at the time I requested until I called to check on it. The whole thing was just a mess.
