The truck I rented died on me twice in the middle of my move and when I had no choice but to buy jumper cables, I was treated like I did something wrong by being told by the manager that I should have called for service instead ofbubuying the cables. I did not like the way I was treated on top of being given a poorly maintained vehicle.

I rented a car hauler for one afternoon. When driving with the trailer, one of the ramps came out and was dragging on the ground. The ramp latch was apparently broken. Also, upon returning the trailer to the facility, I was called the following day by a representative claiming that I never returned the trailer. Apparently they wrote down the wrong trailer number in the contract. I was then called two more times during the day to straighten out the situation. Damaged equipment and poor customer service, not to mention that this facility is very difficult to access due to traffic in the area.

not enough customer parking! I needed to leave my car there while I rented a van. and I got the last available spot! they assumed customers would have an extra person driving the car, but that wasn't the case with me. This should be clarified on your website-- and when people call, they should be warned that there is inadequate customer parking. better yet, they should figure out a way to provide more. if I didn't get that last spot, my plans would have been screwed.

I was unaware of the motor vehicle and rental fee which totaled $10. I wish it was more upfront that those fees will be charged.

I was charged for a dolly that I didn't use. When I called to ask about it they told me the seal had been broken so I must have used it. Not only had I not used the dolly but there wasn't a dolly in the truck when I picked it up. The lady who answered the phone went to check, confirmed no dolly, and says they will refund the charge. But how can they claim they saw a broken seal on something that wasn't there? I even asked what the extra $7 dollars was when I was returning the truck and the guy checking it out brushed it off saying something about extra mileage. If I hadn't done the math when I got home I might have believed him. Makes me wonder how many other people have unknown charges they just accept. Also the fuel was a tiny bit lower than stated. And the back needed a quick sweep. Not enough to complain about normally, but the extra charge for the dolly put me in a bad mood. On the other hand, truck was in good condition and had no other problems. I might use this uhaul again, if I needed a quick truck, but I'd watch every charge like a hawk.

I've found an empty beer can inside the car. This is horrible. Imagine if the cops pull over my car? You should take care with the car between rentals.

We dropped the van off just after closing hours and realized we had left an item in the truck. We called to let them know however the person on the phone was not at the location but said they would pass the information to the people opening in the morning. I specifically asked them if they would hold the item and was told yes. Worried, I called first thing the following morning and was told by the person on the phone that they couldn't help and my best chance of recovering my item was to go to the store as they probably would not answer the phone. I went back to the location and asked about my item (a hat) and they told me to look in the truck. When I did I could tell that they had cleaned it and asked what happened to the trash. They took me to the trash can and there was my hat. I specifically asked if found items would be held in Lost and Fund and was told yes. If the policy is to just throw everything out, they should just have said that. If I had waited (assuming my hat would be held) it would have been gone. I was very disappointed with the treatment and will try to avoid renting from U-Hual in the future.

There were some weird people in the parking lot that starting hitting on my girlfriend. They seemed to be working there. I won't go back to this location if you can't even tell your employees to respect the customers.

The U-Haul representative was not immediately available to give me the van after going to the counter - this was particularly frustrating when it was a cold day and I'm waiting to pick up the truck to start moving. Also the policy of a deposit that is higher than the estimated amount seems unnecessary.
