More direct instruction in how to operate the vehicle (I didn't know everything was manual); if there are 4 people at counter and only 1 taking customers, you should explain or indicate that somehow. I was waiting around for one of them to call me, and I didn't know why.

The line was way too long to check in. I already did the "express check in" but there is no reason to do that. You have to wait in line like everyone else and it took 30 minutes to get checked in when I arrived exactly at 10:15. Staff was nice but that ruined a lot of the experience

Initially, they couldn't find the truck. Then, the requested appliance dolly, furniture dolly, and dozen moving pads were not in the truck; my family had to lift a refrigerator, washing machine, and heavy furniture with no supplemental assistance. Even though customer service adjusted the bill, I needed the items I requested from uhaul.

I didn't receive the 26 feet u-haul truck that I reserved twice and ended up renting 20 footer which cost me more money since had to make two trips instead of one trip which would have saved me money as well as time. Very disappointed.. :(

I had reserved a 15' truck, on June 27, for my move on July 31. On 7/30, Uhaul informed me that I would be getting a 10' truck instead, and nothing could be done about it. As a result, I was forced to arrange to leave belongings behind and, a few days later, rent a second vehicle, and drive another 6 hours to complete my move. Uhaul did not offer any compensation for my trouble that resulted from their mistake. Uhaul must improve and honor their reservation system, and prepare for the expected month-end rush. Next time, I will try a competitor.

Reception area girls were nice but guys outside ughhh like doing favor on me for everything and definitely not friendly. I was returning the vehicle & waiting ... waiting and still waiting even though finally one guy said will be there shortly and guess what he was just catching up on his work on cost of my time waiting .. Seriously where was customer service ..?

Check the actual mileage before the next rental. It may only be off by 2 miles, but it makes you feel like you're being scammed. Fill the tank so it is more than 1/4 full.

I was charged at additional EZ fuel sales of 33.20 because U-haul told me that I brought the cargo van back at 1/4 of the tank. When I took the van out, they said that the tank is at 5/8 but it was actually around 3/4 of the tank. I brought the van back with the fuel tank at around 5/8. However, I was still charged. If the gas is already at 5/8, then how the hell will I fill it up to 5/8 again?? I was also charged for only 31 miles. If I took the van out at 5/8 of the tank and brought it back at 1/4 of the tank, then I would have used up around 11 gallons. The total tank capacity of the van is used is 31 gallons. That means that I would have had to drive about 110 miles if you take the MPG of the van to be 10 MPG. The math didn't add up and I called up the location and was transferred to some dimwit manager who told me that the van's MPG was around 3-4 gallons. Seriously?? Either this guy lied to me or didn't really know the MPG of the vehicles he was renting out. At this point, I just hung up. This was a really bad experience for me and I am very hesitant to rent out from this location again or refer anyone else. U-haul, please take the following two steps to improve customer experience - 1. Make sure the agents at the locations take accurate readings of mileage and gas gauge. This should not be the customer's responsibility, it should be YOUR (U-haul) responsibility. 2. Make sure people are knowledgeable about the vehicles they are renting out. I don't understand how a brand new 2015 Ford cargo van with total of 95 miles can give a gas mileage of 3-4??? I thNk it is ridiculous that you order a pick up in one location and get told the night before you have to pick up in a completely different location in the opposite direction THAN have the nerve to charge me for going over milked by the EXACT AMOUNT OF MILES BETWEEN MY OROGONAL OICK AND THE ONE I WAS FORCED TO USE !!!!!!

Not sure if this is an internal or external review, so bottom line: I received horrendous "service" and treatment by the rude employees and either by fraud or gross negligence, they attempted to charge me for a two day rental when my receipt shows two hours and manipulating the mileage charge, because according to them: $0.39/mile * 52 miles = $51.48. Redacted receipt: http://i.imgur.com/lVqXq9x.gif Thoroughly horrendous experience, rent from Ryder, Penske, Budget, Courier, or if absolutely necessary, one of the multiple other Jersey City U-Hauls. I arrived and was rudely asked to park my car "over there". When I asked where specifically as there were multiple vehicles blocking multiple spots, I was, "Right THERE in the customer lot". Then he realized that he wrong and asked some vehicles to move, but instead of admitting he was wrong or apologizing, I was told, "Okay, now can you figure it out?" Whatever, I gave them zero sass because customer service has been long dead and "service representatives" with bad attitudes are the new norm in American business culture. I just wanted my vehicle quickly, as I was promised. There was one woman dealing with six waiting customers to sign contracts, explaining rental policy, etc. There were at least seven men outside standing around doing nothing, and when I asked them where I go for Express Online Check-In, they said, "I dunno bruh, go inside and ask the girl." I signed up for Express Online Check-In because my move was time-sensitive; however it took 15 minutes to be checked in an "express" fashion. When I finally received my keys, none of the multiple men knew where my vehicle was located. When they figured it out they gestured "over there" to a truck that was obviously blocked by a van. I didn't receive the customary walk around, site inspection, tips of operating the vehicle, or any of the excellent service I have previously received at the Atlas Self-Storage/U-Haul location on Cindy Lane in Ocean, NJ. Fine, whatever. I sat in the truck for a few minutes, expecting it to be moved for me by one of the half dozen layabouts, but, no, I actually had to ask the "moving vehicle experts" to move the vehicle blocking my truck. When that was finally done, I asked if I could safely pull the pick-up through because, as I had not been given any points or tips on safe operation and as I'm not used to driving a massive truck, it seemed that there was MAYBE three inches on each side for my mirrors to miss the other mirrors. The response was something like, "the exit is right in front of you.. Oh, you mean space, yeah obviously you can pull out, we're not gonna damage our own vehicles". So I idled between the two vans and sure enough, my left mirror BARELY missed scraping the van's. Again, whatever. Move goes fine despite being about half an hour late due to U-Haul's mismanagement, I go to return the vehicle, again the girl behind the counter inside was dealing with about six people so I go outside and a

Hi, I just want to type a note regarding the excellent customer service I received from the General Manager, Jared, at this location. He was very friendly and extremely helpful when an issue came up regarding the tire pressure in the first truck we were prepared to take. He helped us get a new truck and then arranged for my boyfriend to park our car in the employee section of the lot while we completed the move. (This, after another individual told us outside that "customer parking is first-come-first-served, and there is nothing we can do for you").
