I'm still waiting on the hold on my visa to be released when I paid cash..store says its the bank...not buying since I have worked at a hotel and know Cc co can be called and holds released...have used uhaul4 times this year ....won't be using them again and will never recommend after being double charged

I reserved my uhaul on line. My scheduled time to pick up was 9:15 am. I got there at 9am. The Uhaul employee said I was not supposed to be there until 10:15, I showed him my confirmation email. He said my truck isn't in yet. I asked what the situation was on the 24' truck on the lot. He said that's set up to go out at 4pm. I asked him why can't I take that one and the one that's supposed to come in later go to the 4pm person. He said he guessed that's what he would have to do. The truck was difficult to start and steering was very loose. Good thing I didn't want a dolly as the one normally inside the truck was gone. I turned the Uhaul back in early but it was after store hours. Uhaul charged me for 2 days. I tried to call store. Couldn't get through. I got though to main Uhaul customer service. They tried to call store and couldn't get though either. They said they would have someone call me. Someone called and it sounds like if you turn in truck after hours, they auto charge for 2 days. They will issue refund they said. We'll see....

Manager, who had moved here to takeover store when previous manager quit, was extremely friendly and competent. He was teaching his associates to make them better. He gave me a ride to pick up my rental car. This was excellent customer service I won't forget. Way above normal service.

I was confused about the 10 ft cargo van versus the 10 ft truck. Thought I was getting a truck, but it turns out the van was fine as far as size , etc.

I rented a 26 foot truck. It was supposed to be at one location much closer to my house, but uhaul changed my online rental and used a different location a lot farther away causing my mileage usage and fuel expense to more than double. Not happy! Also the truck was an old 2000 model gmc and it was wore out. Hard to start up, felt like the truck was going to fall apart while driving, the transmission shifted bad (felt like it was getting close to going out) and the truck was rusty and beat up (I could have hit a wall with it and wouldn't have been able to tell). The two employees I dealt with were pleasant though the young guy that morning should go a bit slower when explaining the rental process to customers. My previous rental experience was much better as my rental was at the correct store and much better truck. I reserved this truck over a week in advance. Luckily I called the day before the rental date to confirm my rental (never received a call from uhaul as they say they will call). Not happy!

These comments continued from previous evaluation three days ago--in addition to those issues: I told 1800 go uhaul that Joplin was calling wanting my dolly--which was picked up there with my truck for a ONE WAY 400 mile rental. They said they would take care of it; that they would tell them that it was not to be returned there. JOPLIN CALLED AGAIN TODAY WANTING THEIR DOLLY. Why would a truck and auto transport be one way, and an appliance dolly local? Now filling another online complaint. Above comments were for person at pickup place ONLY--rest of rental was a cluster-&%^&.

Dropped off my equipment after hours, Dropped my paperwork in the key slot and ask for receipt to be emailed Never got anything. Not really sure why when you make a reservation online none of the paperwork is ready when you pick up.

A/c did not work. I was forwarded to roadside assistance who informed me that a representative would come to my residence to repair it as no other comparable trucks were available to swap out. Later roadside called back and informed me thatthey would not be able to come to my location and I would have to take it 1.5hr away for repair - which was not an option as we were leaving the next morning. - eventually i spoke to a person at the physical location in Joplin and was informed that $150 would be credited back to me.

The entire rental process was a disaster. We have been waiting a week for a return phone call from the general manager who promised he would "make it right". We were given the wrong size truck forcing us to make multiple 8 hour round trips.

The morning help could be a little more friendly. Granted there was an issue with a customer's credit card in line in front of me and we had to wait a very long time. Evening help was awesome!!!
