I was called by the Keene store around 10 am asking about the rental i told them I had an e mail stating to return by noon he snapped at me and said no it was due by 930 i said i have an e mail saying by noon he said he would charge me fro a extra day i told him i would show him when i got there. When I got there he told me he was waiting on a lady i would be next. i said no problem, then the lady said no she was going to be awhile for me to go. then the sales man said he could not help me because her information was on the computer . I said seems like there is nothing on the computer i need I'm just checking out. He told me and had a printed copy of my contract that said i was to have railer back my 930. i said ok but after i rented and left with the trailer from Baltimore i received an E mail saying it must be back by 1200. the tone went done hill on both parts. but the problem was due to the e mail stating that I had to have trailer back by noon... this confusion turned inane argument which the sales person who could of deescalated bur he was talking down to me which didi not go well for inhere of us...

The service was very good, quick and efficient. However, they misrepresented the gas gauge on the contract and it cost me $60 for 6 gallons of gas. Overall good but make sure you go over EVERYTHING before leaving the store.

The manager was very helpful and generally cared about my complaint he made me feel a lil better yet there was nothing they could do about me being late he stilled made me feel like he cared about how up set I was about the trip befor to pick up truck. Wish all were like that when it comes to customers. Thankyou

I wanted to rent a vehicle in Westminster VT and the order was confirmed; later it was transferred to Keene NH, saying the right size truck wasn't available. This cost me a lot of time and inconvenience. At the Keene Store, the clerk was not that friendly.

Staff should know why the policy of not renting a trailer to soft top Jeep Wrangler is in place... not just "because that's the policy, and I want to keep my job." The staff were pleasant, but uninformed about true reason for an absurd policy!

The manager charged $18.00 for 3.6 gallons of fuel when the truck was returned with the needle in the same spot. We are a repeat customer, and we are now looking for other truck rental companies. The manager cursed at my associate and I over the gas gauge level. The staff is very unprofessional.

We arrived at 6:50 for a 7AM appointment. There was an employee setting up another customer with his rented truck when we pulled into the lot. The gentleman behind the counter (we later learned was the manager...Jeff?)asked if he could help us. I told him my name, and that we were there for a 6X12 trailer. He told me to pull around back and he would be right out. I asked him which unit it was, and he replied coldly, "There is only one 6X12 out there." I said, "Well I am sure I can find it, then." He replied, "Technically we are not open for another 10 minutes." I replied, "I know we are early. Technically, if the door isn't locked, you are open." We went outside, I located the trailer and began hooking up to it. The manager came out as I was hooking to the lights and had me run through the light check. He then came over and tightened the connection and hooked the chains. When we went inside he said, "That guy will have to finish the paperwork with you, I am having computer issues." We finished up the paperwork and headed out. The first 30 miles of our trip was on secondary roads. I thought the trailer was floating around a little too much, but wrote it off to the box being empty, the wind, road ruts, and my being unused to towing. When we got on the highway, the trailer sway became worse, but again, I figured it was those other things. About 2 hours out, the sway started getting really bad. I was now convinced that something was wrong with the trailer. We looked up local UHaul dealers, and found one in Newburgh, NY which was only a half hour away. (Julian's) We called and they said we could definitely stop there and they would do what they could. They took us right into the service bay within minutes of our arrival, jacked up the side of the trailer and kicked one of the wheels. It almost fell off. They then proceeded to check all the wheels, and found that ALL FOUR wheels had bad wheel bearings. The mechanic was amazed that we did not have one or more of the wheels fall off while we were on the road, and said that we definitely would have lost a wheel if the trailer had been loaded. At this point, the story absolutely gets better. Julian's was AMAZING. They searched the area for a replacement trailer, and when none could be found they contacted UHaul and asked them what could be done. Julian's set us up with a 10' truck and arrangements were made to make sure we were taken care of. They turned a very bad experience into a bearable one. The bottom line is this. I can't believe the manager in Keene was unaware that he had a trailer on his lot with 4 bad wheel bearings. I will not use that facility again. There are other UHaul locations nearby to me, and if I have a need I may consider using them. But I will not go back to Keene.

The trailer I picked up at this location had 4 bad wheel bearings. The manager is the one who put me in the trailer, and did no inspection other than to check the lights and the connection to the ball on my trailer. Not knowing there was a problem with the bearings, I headed out on the road. The trailer road loosely, and swayed back and forth behind my vehicle, but I thought it was wind, road ruts, and the fact that it was empty. After a couple of hours, the trailer was becoming dangerous. That was when I called the Newburgh facility and asked if I could stop and have them look at the unit.

Excellent, fast service. Good advice too, which convinced me I needed to rent a truck to pull the car dolly and not use my own truck. Nice new truck, no problems at all! I saved a lot of money not having to flat-bet my dead car home.

Checkout was at least pleasant and efficient, though I don't like the company policy of having to fill my tank to a fractional amount. I'd rather receive a full tank and return it full. I was told to bring it back at 15/16, and that's annoying. I couldn't be bothered to hassle with fractions and so filled it, figuring surely that would be good. Indeed, I bet a lot of people do this, and reflecting now back on this experience as I write to you, it wouldn't surprise me if I found that U-Haul does it deliberately in order to get a couple dollars edge. The gas station was at most a mile from the office and I wasn't going to spend 1/16 of a tank getting there. It was after hours so I dropped keys and contract in the slot. I called the next day to ask if all was well and they pointed me at my email. It said i was charged for 2 gallons. After fussing a bit, they asked if I wanted to wait while they checked the van. I waited and got hung up, so had to call back. The guy came back and, without apology of any kind, just said "OK, we'll refund $10." as if that fixed it. Am I the only one that this happens to? I don't know. But given they weren't apologetic and seemed to think I should just think this normal and unworthy of further remark, I have to assume they think it's business as usual. That puts me off to this location, and to U-Haul in general.

Your computer program/operating system is so slow and cumbersome that it frustrates both your employees and customers with the time it wastes. At one point I had two employees trying to get me checked out because the program was being uncooperative and presenting unrelated information requests that did not pertain to my rental at all.

The manager apologized for all the misinformation given along the way in Virginia Beach. He was kind and understanding when I returned the truck. However, I got a message from someone in Massachusetts the next day that I had not returned the utility dolly! I called back and informed him that in fact I did, to the Keene location at 2:00pm Tuesday Oct 29.
