The Kensington, Md location was very convenient and the pick-up and drop-off were relatively easy. One suggestion would be to fill the gas tank prior to customer pick-up. I had a short haul, but 1/4 tank would have added one more thing for me to fo had I needed to haul a greater local distance.

I have rented two vehicles in the last 4 weeks one for 12 days one for 6. The pick-up place is a converted gas station; don’t expect it to be glamorous. You could spend some $ and fix the heat in the building your employees and customers would appreciate it. Vehicles could have been cleaner ;I ran the last trough a car wash to knock the mud and salt off of it.

When I picked up the truck they marked on the paperwork that the gas tank was full. Then during the inspection when I went out with the gentleman I noticed that it was not in fact full but 5/8 of a tank. I pointed this out to the gentleman that was helping me and he said that he would notate the paperwork accordingly. Upon returning the vehicle I filled it up to where it was when I initially drove it off of the lot. Now I am being charged for not returning the vehicle on “Full”. I am not going to give you back more gas than you gave me. Please return the charge to my credit card that I place

I placed an order for a 17' truck and car transport for a 2013 Cadillac with u haul.com. when I arrived, they had no car transport for my Cadillac and offered no help to cure the problem. I had three vehicles to drive and two drivers(one car should have been on the trailer). I asked the young man, " what am I supposed to do?". His response was, "not my problem." Due to timing, I had to leave for Atlanta from Bethesda, MD, I had to have a friend drive with us and fly home. I will think long and hard before I use uhaul again and their "guaranteed service!!! It was especially nice when the young man refused to call uhaul and help me find a solution!!! Uhaul...you need to get this kind of problem fixed or you will keep losing good customers like me. If I had had more time...I wouldn't have taken your $1100 truck!!! After using uhaul for most of my life...this was not acceptable!!!

Trailer had a leak and when we returned it it was put back into service. We reportedd the leak and kept the blankets in the back seat of truck so they would stay dry. Wjen they unhooked the truck they pushed it back in with the other trailers.

I was very frustrated with this rental facility. The office was a real mess. Thankfully, the truck was decent. When I first got my truck, however, I noticed that the fuel was on half, but my rental paper had it marked at 3/4. I went back to the office and had it changed to 1/2. No big deal. Unfortunately, I didn't check the mileage in the truck with what was on the paper. After I returned they billed me for 30 miles. At the time that seemed a bit high, but perhaps possible. I recalled that when I got the truck the mileage had ended in "49," but it was something else on the paper. My fault as I didn't check. Later, I used Google Maps and found out that indeed my trip was 21 miles and not 30. Lesson learned on my part. Finally, when I returned the truck, the Uhaul rep asked me to pay $8 for gas - a little high at today's prices, but typical for rental gas prices. He encouraged cash. I paid cash and was then asked if my receipt for the whole rental (paid with Visa) could be emailed ("printer problems"). Sure I said. They quoted me $84 for the whole trip. I thought it was a bit high but felt pressure to move on as a few people we waiting behind me. After getting home, I checked the email receipt and found that they had added $24 for a fuel charge to my bill. This was on top of the $8 I had already paid in cash. I quickly called and was told that they "can't do a credit card refund" and that I'd have to go back to the store for a $24 cash refund. I agreed and will now have to go out of my way to do this. Anyone of these problems on their own would be understandable. But taken together, it left me with a very bad experience and I will likely not visit this location again. Even if I do get my $24 back, I still overpaid for the mileage by $10. Thank you.

Place a sign that states there is no exit from the adjacent lot. Allow customers to enter license address information online in advance and verify onsite rather than enter at time of checkout.

The office was filthy and junky! Staff could have been more helpful in ensuring other clients did not double park their cars in front of the office, thereby making it difficult to drive my hired van in that area! A wicked woman went for easy for her to go in and get her business done at my expense! When she was not able to do the courteous behavior, staff should have told her to park her car! The young man who was working when I went back towards close of evening was wonderful! He should get a raise. Offered to call a taxi for me and to wait with me until it came. A real gentleman, with a lovely smile. Fortunately, the taxi came quickly, so he could call his work day ended, and could go home. This kind of old fashion customer service is more and more rare in the US! So, please acknowledge this employee, with a bonus! Regards, Michele Linnen

I rent every week. There is always some minor issue. Yesterday I was charged for furniture pads which I did not have. The fuel was indicated on the out sheet as 5/8 tank when it was really 1/2. I only use this location because it is near my house.

This place is extremely run down and unprofessional. It didn't have any of the equipment I requested and the truck was clearly on borrowed time. I would never recommend this location. It's dirty and unprofessional.

I rented a truck from here (Kensington MD) for a one way to drop off stuff in my uhaul storage space out in Landover MD. I had called the Landover place before making the reservation and asked them if Uhaul does one way rentals. The uhaul employee said they did, and all I had to do was just rent from the nearest uhaul to me and drop it off here. So, I made the reservation online. When I tried to drop of the truck in Landover, they said that it had to be returned to the Kensington location, and that some uhauls don't do one ways and some do, and that Kensington does not. How was I supposed to know this information?

I had to return it at a different location, which I was not expecting. Thus, it would have been cheaper for me to choose that option in the first place. I should receive the difference in price since I didn't have a choice in the matter.

The location was not focused on helping my problem-which was a truck that wouldn't start. Directed to call roadside assistance and got Sonda Gooch who did nothing to assist me except text me a website I already knew. Website app did not work well and eventually called back the phone no and got Amanda from Phoenix who truly was concerned and helped solve my problem and even followed up with a call and message.

The truck I received had a window down... in the rain. On my paperwork it had put the original fuel at 15/16 of a tank... what I received was a half tank, and though the location said it was open until 9 ... when I returned the truck at 8:00 no one was there to receive my paperwork and to give me the final total. Many other customers were there too, trying to return equipment, no one was happy.
