I reserved a truck an showed up at 730 to pick it up and come to find out they tell me I'm scheduled to pick up at 3pm. Had to rent a pick up which made the job extended

The mileage chart is not accurate. You need to explain this to your customers or change it. At the end of my move, I got to the gas station with 1/4 of a tank of gas left. I was told to return it with 3/4 of a tank full. According to your chart, I needed to add 15 gal of gas. I added 15 gals and it passed the 3/4 mark and ended up practically filling the tank. I didn't appreciate this. This is my only complaint with U-haul. The rest of the rental experience went smoothly.

This experience was the WORST moving experience of my entire life!! I have moved cross country and never had so much hassle moving as I did dealing with this company. First the truck I was rented was TRIPLE BOOKED. I was told when I picked up the truck that the next reservation wasn't until 4:30 pm the next day so it had to be back by 4pm. I then received a phone call at 12pm the next day while in the middle of moving and was told that my truck was rented to someone at 12:30 and had to be returned immediately! This was not doable seeing as I was not told of this reservation and need the truck til 4. I was then told that if I didn't return the truck immediately that I would be charged for another day. I told the person on the phone that if I was being charged for another WHOLE day that I was not bringing it back at 4. Since I was paying another day I was at least keeping it until 9pm. I was told this was fine. I then received ANOTHER phone call at 5 pm basically accusing me of stealing the truck and that it was supposed to be back at 4 even though I extended my reservation! I have never dealt with so much non communication within a company before and it is HIGHLY unprofessional and made my move take longer and made it much more stressful. To make matters worse the equipment I rented was faulty and the door was sticking all day and as I go to close it at the end of the move it wont shut. I attempted multiple times and finally ended up having to call roadside assistance. This was also a JOKE! I sat on the side of the road for nearly an hour and no one showed up. I ended up taking the truck back UNFIXED. I had to sit in this truck engine on, heat pumping at 10pm with my 7 year old daughter asleep in 30 degree weather wasting fuel I'M supposed to pay for while waiting for someone to fix one of your trucks, and never did. I have never been so dissatisfied with a company before in my life. I was also treated with absolute disrespect and called a bitch by one of your customer service representatives. She was completely uninterested in my problems and complaints. She was a complete nightmare just like the rest of my experience. I will NEVER use this company again and will make sure to tell everyone I know not to use this company either. I plan on disputing the charges on my credit card for as long as I have to in order to be reimbursed for this disaster of an experience. I will NOT pay for the way I was treated and the complete incompetence of the people working for this company.

Give me equipment that works. My truck wouldn't start in front of the store. It had nothing to do with the customer service, that was wonderful on both ends.

Other U-Haul stores should use the 848 Ulster Ave. store as a model as many U-Haul locations around the country (I have moved 14 times) are total garbage. That is, while over-booking is corporate policy, other locations' staff simply refuse to work with customers to find trucks when over-booking occurs. Moreover, in my 14 moves, U-Haul staff are generally gruff, and the store appears more like a mechanic's break room than a publicly welcoming business. The 848 Ulster Ave. U-Haul location remains the only EXCEPTION to the above detestable status quo. Joe and his staff went above and beyond expectations in service and cleanliness. Upon first booking my truck, Joe contacted me to inform me that the truck I had booked was being serviced; despite it being an unusually busy weekend, he then worked extra hard to secure me a vehicle (calling other nearby locations, working to book other trucks of similar size . . . etc.). This is among the best customer service I have experienced with a moving company. Also notable, the store was super clean, and organized whereas, upon my last move (some 2 years ago), the same store was a total wreck). The entire staff gets a HUGE BRAVO from me. Thank you, especially, Joe, for your kind, courteous, and efficient service. I greatly appreciate your efforts.

They broke the muffler pipe off the car I paid to tow. And a month later I'm still fighting them for a mere 200.00 to fix it. Their insurance company stinks, the guy more or less called me a liar and wants me to sing a release form. So I will never use uhaul again and will tell everyone I know this story and advise them to go somewhere else. I spent 2500.00 with this company for this trip and this is what I get. NOTHING!!!!! but B.S. someone from Uhaul wrote and said they would have someone call in 24 hrs, that was 4 days ago. POOR way to run a company. All I want is the car to be the way it was before your employee broke the pipe, is that really to much to ask from Uhaul???????? I see by looking on the internet that this is your way of handling your costumers "VERY POORLY". Well I have to rent another truck to get the rest of my belongings and you can bet it wont be Uhaul. Budget will get all my business now and I will encourage anyone I know to use anyone BUT Uhaul.......

When i gave them my car information and they gave me the tow dolly my car didnt fit onto it. So i had to drive all the way back and get a trailer and got an attitude was told the computer system was flawless and that i mustve given them the wrong information. The customer service was terrible.

The customer service man told me when I called that my order was cancelled. Although he was joking this was not a laughing matter. I was EXTREMELY upset that the level of gas in the uhaul was only 1/4 of a tank and we had to put four gallons of gas in for only using 11 miles!!!!! The ONLY reason we used that much gas was because of the fact that the gas level being so low. Anything under a half a tank trucks like that......even cars use more gas when they are at that level then if they were above 1/2 a tank. I just feel this is done on purpose so that way you get gas money... mileage....and this way your men don't have to do much but try and get ur customers upset by saying their order was cancelled. You may also want to out some work into the truck because all of them sound like they are going die on the side or the road or just when you are driving period. I don't think I will be renting from you again. I told this to the men that handled me and nothing was doer for compensation and I think that is pitiful for being in the customer service field. This was the second time in a month that I rented a truck had no issues the first time so its not like I was trying to get out of paying....I just wanted to be compensated for my troubles that were unwarrented.
