The manager was very friendly and made my move easier. He made sure I was taken care of even though I was in a rush. The associate who helped me return the truck was very helpful as well. I had my baby so he moved the truck from where it was parked, on the street to inside the lot. This allowed my daughter and I to go home in my car seamlessly. I was not particularly happy with the service of this location, or U-Haul in general. I reserved a truck online at the Gardella location, one that came complete with a guarantee that my truck would be there, or I would receive $50 off a different truck. I drove 3 hours to pick up the truck, only to be advised that my truck was now at a location on First Street across town. Upon arrival at the U-Haul across town (a U-Haul/gas station combo) I was advised by the gas station clerk that the U-Haul part of the facility was not open for business that day (Black Friday). I called the Gardella store back, who said they would give me an 800 number so that I could speak to someone who could better find me a truck. I also got two other phone numbers, as the lady was not sure which was the correct one. I finally get ahold of someone at the 800 number, and the lady argues with me, stating that the website says the U-Haul at First Street is open. I advised her that I am not calling for funsies, and promised her it was NOT open. She told me I could head back across town, to a THIRD LOCATION, to pick up a truck. She then offered me a $50 guarantee that the truck would be there. I advised her that I had already had such guarantee, and had now been to two locations (and am going to my third) and no truck, so what good does such guarantee do me? She offered no explanation and just kept repeating that she was giving me the guarantee. At this point I should have already gotten $100 off my reservation based solely on their inability to provide me with the truck I reserved. I finally get to the third location off Portola, also a gas station/U-Haul combo, where there is one clerk and 20 people in line for convenience store assistance. It took me 45 minutes to rent the truck because she kept assisting other customers that kept coming in (after us), instead of finishing our checkout which all in all should've only taken 10 minutes. I finally had to ask her to finish checking us out instead of helping the constant flow of other customers coming in after us. 45 minutes of patience is more than enough in my opinion. Aside from the ridiculous customer service from U-Haul, the truck worked perfectly for what we needed. I was able to fit all my stuff, the truck ran great. The prices, however, were just as ridiculous as the customer service (almost $400 to rent a truck for the day one way to Santa Rosa - not even 90 miles - and not including gas obviously). Their inability to uphold their own truck reservation guarantee was just as deplorable. I will definitely not be using U-Haul in the future.

my original pick up was for 5:30 in San Ramon, CA I showed uo at 4:52 to find out that the location closed at 5pm, and that no ome was on the property. no one was in the office. No one answered the phone. I was scheduled to pick up a truck at a facility that closed a half an hour earlier. I called the 510 number was transferred 7 times total with 3 calls totalling 39 min before someone was willing to help me and reschedule my pickup. I was told they couldnt help me and transferred to main office (that wasnt the name they used it was the place that makes all the assignment for appointments and locations.) it rang until the line disconnected. I called back was told again they couldnt help transfered again it cycled back to the main number with an automatic choices. It was the third time that your person was willing to help me. She offered us additional mileage and a $50 reservation credit. was bery understanding. She was my saving grace. If it werent for her I'd a yelped Facebook tweeted how horrible Uhaul had treated me.

The order management system for picking up a UBOX is appalling. It's obvious that the staff need training and are completely perplexed by the webforms. It took an hour to pick up my UBox. The time was Unacceptable! Train your employees before attempting a Corporate Business Process and IT rollout!!!

Manager was there to check me in. He was a professional and courteous guy. Didn't expect that. lol. He was the only one there so it took about 20min from the time i arrived ubtil the time I left which wasnt that bad. Upon arrival, I was immediately greeted and checked out with the receipt e-mailed to me. VERY good experience. Would definitely come back and recommend.
