I've been to this location several times!! The last 2 visits have been subpar... The employees seem over worked and frantic... Not very personable! Short and sometimes seem irritated. Not the best experience!!!

I was very pleased with the gas mileage on this van. However, I realized about 50 miles in that the gas gauge did not work, and it never left the FULL mark. I filled it up then to be safe, and I filled it again before I returned the van. I alerted the agent, because I was afraid some other driver would run out of gas unawares, or someone would cheat and not put gas in since it read full. The agent was appropriately concerned, and he thanked me for reporting it.

I made my reservation on Monday or Tuesday for Saturday evening at 5 PM. I received a call at around 4PM saying my van was rented out, but it would be back at 5:30 PM, would that be ok. I said yes even though I really didn't mean it. I arrived at 5:40 to find that the van was still not back. The staff called the person to find out how much longer he would be. He said he would be back about 6:00 PM. He didn't return till about 6:13. I didn't get the vehicle until 6:25 or so. I received an explanation that had to do with two vans being returned at the end of the day. The other renter called and asked to extend his rental for an additional day, this was ok'ed by a dispatcher. Regardless of how everything went, The hour and 20 minute delay caused me to have to pack up in the dark.

I rented a car dolly and the Uhaul employee - although a very friendly and nice guy - he wasn't qualified or trained properly in attaching the car dolly. He didn't know if I was to leave the car in Park or Neutral; he didn't know to tell me to leave the hand break off - I left a 50 ft skid mark trying to leave the location - I didn't know what was wrong and I was afraid my car would be wrecked. It was my brother on the phone with me that suggested that it might be the hand break. Also, when he was putting on the strap of the drivers side - I noticed that it was turned over and not straight - I pointed this out to him and he told me that it didn't matter. THEN, when I'm having a rest stop in Barstow, CA - I see that my car's driver's side front wheel (the part that is supposed to be secured) is OFF the wheel hold of the car dolly!!!!! I had to stay in Barstow (it was after midnight) and unsafe to drive. I called the Uhaul roadside assistance in the morning - and although he did a better job (the wheels were secure but the straps were incorrectly put on - I saw this when we arrived and were taking the car down) between the first guy and the second guy - my car was damaged - just an AWFUL experience. My car only has 6.6k miles and now I've to get it repaired. Forget the worry and anxiety I then had driving more than 900 miles because of the bad car dolly. On top of that - when we were unhitching the dolly the hand came off!!

I mentioned before the vehicles are not as clean as they could be. That was true this time I rented also. The biggest issue I have, is that I have no choice in the Make of Cargo Van that I can rent. You have two, Ford and GMC. I have a Swap Meet business. Ford has side doors that open completely. They open far enough that they are parallel to the side of the van. GMC doors open up only to a point where they are at a 90 degree angle from the side. I normally sit on the side where the two doors open. I cannot do this with the GMC because the door closest to the back blocks half of the booth. I ask for a Ford, and get GMC.

I have asked about vehicles I rent being a bit dirty. It was shared with me that water use is an issue. I understand that. However, I find the inside a bit dirty on occasion. Glass cleaner or other cleaning products should not be a problem. Keep in mind, I am still pleased overall with my experiences. I have rented for about 2 1/2 years from this location.

From Yelp: Holy Christing God, this place sucks. We just needed a pickup truck to get a fridge from a guy that lives 15 minutes away from our shop. My employee goes there to make the reservation and they won't let him because he doesn't have a credit card. I am at another location 90 minutes out, so I can't physically be there. I then call in to try to make a reservation with MY card, and they won't take my card over the phone. OK. I then try to make a reservation online with my credit card under his name, and NOPE: still need to show the card and ID physically there. Ooookay... I call the shop and it bounces to UHaul corporate: the operator explains that with the pickups, they need the credit card, but they can do $100 deposit for box trucks. Great! My guy goes back with the $100 deposit, and NOPE: needs 2 forms of ID: a driver's license and the second ID MUST be (no exceptions) car registration (in his wife's name, so no good), a green card, or his US Passport (?!?). I call up again and the clerk, Elias, can't really do much of anything. I speak to the general manager, Robert Rennie, who reinforces the need for JUST those forms of ID or (and this is great): my guy can drive to me, get MY ID and credit card to rent the truck...?!? Oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo­ooooooooookay... I call corporate Uhaul back to explain the situation and they confirm that, yes, this is their stupid policy. So, yeah. Find another place to rent a truck from. Like, anywhere
