Everything was wonderful, until I got final bill from U-Haul. Steven, the counter rep at the pick-up point, asked me if two days were enough for rental. I said yes, but he said if I wanted an extra day there would be not charge. "It's free might as well take it, right"?, said Steven. After looking at my contract, I see that I was wrong. But the way it was verbalized to me was incorrect. Like I say everything else was perfect.

There seems to usually be at least a 10-minute wait at the front counter. But the employees are very polite and eager to help. The locker door is damaged, but they are getting it repaired right away. The Asst Mgr, Gary, went out of his way to be helpful to us.

On 8/13/15 my daughter and a friend picked up the trailer for loading that evening and an early departure from Lubbock the next morning. While loading we noticed that the right rear tire on the 6x12 trailer was unsafe for the 460 mile trip hot trip along I-20, and I decided to contact the trailer rental to replace the tire although the remaining three tires were also worn. No help at the U-Haul dealer. When I asked to replace the tire the asst. manager told me that someone had taken their jack. I offered my hydraulic jack and then he said that they had no tools and I offered my tire tool. Trailers were everywhere with the same size tires and no service available. He was polite and told me that a call to the roadside service was necessary to get a tire approved and put on, to that I replied that we were not on the roadside but still in Lubbock at the dealer. Three calls to roadside service and a nice man in Phoenix keep me holding while he found a tire dealer in Lubbock to give the service on the bad tire. Keep in mind we had a 7 1/2 to eight hour trip to make. The manager at McWhorter Truck service dealer was great. I believe his name was Mr. Buck. He got on the telephone to a service rep in Abilene, Texas and said that all four tires were to be replaced. Very Good. The Goodyear tire dealer worked quickly and we were finally on the road out of Lubbock about 11:30 AM. A few hours late but with new radial tires. The temperature was over 104 to 109 for much of the trip along the interstate hwy., then around Ft. Worth and Dallas area and we doubt that the worn bias ply tires would have made it. ---- My disappointment is with the very large U-dealer that did not have a jack, tire tools nor spare and apparently did not inspect the trailer before it was rented again. You all get the picture by now. We farm and ranch and understand about loaded trailers and what problems a worn out tire can cause, but many of the students and others rely on the trailer rental business to do the right thing. Yes, we have had new tires go flat or blow out but not often. 2-3 hours on the roadside waiting for someone to find you between mile marker 310 and 311 outside of Clyde, Texas could be a hot wait in mid August. Your dealer in Lubbock needs to think about it and go buy a new jack, tire tools and have some spares on hand to show a serious intent of SERVICE. Better yet, contract this daily service out to the good folks at McWorters Truck Service. Thanks, David French

In bringing the truck back, other people were just driving up without realizing there was no exit in the direction the vehicles were told to follow for returning the vehicle. I would definitely recommend repainting the yellow lines in the parking lot, for clearer direction in where to stop or go. But the workers were great.

Steve, the service guy made the whole event professional. Had to wait about ten minutes to be waited on. But Steve's "can-do" attitude, and knowledge of the computer system, got me through every obstacle. The van was almost new, but had not been swept or cleaned. But it got the job done. And when Steve checked me in the next day, he had the same professional knowledge, and "can-do" attitude. Overall, this is a good Uhaul Center. Good neighborhood. Clean. Well lit. People are polite. Seems a bit unorganized at times. And maybe a little under staffed. But I will be returning. Thanks guys.

Worst experience that I have ever had with any moving company! At the 34th street location in Lubbock, TX I reserved a pickup truck for 4 hours and it was returned that same evening about 2.5 hours after we picked it up. We moved a couch, a bed, and a TV. The house we moved from was located on 21st and Slide and the apartment we moved to is on 22nd and Frankford. We made one trip and had it for a total of 2.5 hours tops. My boyfriend returned the truck and was told that everything was "all good." He wasn't given a receipt by this employee and came home. A week later, on August 7th I got a receipt in my email inbox that was stating that they had just received the truck and was charging us an additional amount on top of the amount they charged me for my reservation. I immediately called the store and they told me that I would receive a call back from a manager to resolve this problem. I waited 2 days for a callback and when I didn't receive one I called again, this time being transferred to customer service and a customer action form was filled out to get me a refund. It has been 7 days since all this and I have called everyday to speak to a manager at that location and I talk to approximately 3 people or more on each phone call because they transfer me back and forth to get a resolution. I have spoken to billing who filed a "complaint" for me so that the GM would call me back and I asked him to update the phone number on my case because the one listed recently fell and shattered. When I called the following day, I was informed that I had just missed the mgr and there was a notation stating that he called me multiple times on the "broken" phone and he issued a partial refund, stating that I used 50 miles in gas. Like I stated previously, my apartment and the house are 3 blocks from each other, definitely NOT 50 miles. Customer Service file Customer Action Forms for the amount and through all this extremely professional except for the call that I made today. Today (8/14/2015) is that last day that I called and I was given the number for the "regional" office because they could resolve my problem. I spoke to an extremely rude agent by the name of Tammy A. whose manage is Kevin Wade at the Abilene location, that insisted that I wasn't being truthful about my experience. I will be going to the actual location on 34th and Ave Q. tomorrow to get this issue resolved.
