The pickup experience was terrific. The person from Uhaul corporate relocation who contacted me to set everything up was terrible. She acted as if she didn't want to help me while speaking with me on the phone.

Truck was not broom swept and clean when received - although we are required to return in that condition. Out of stock on needed mattress cover - but staff and truck were excellent. I would recommend the location.

Keep gas tank at full so when customer is complete they just top tank off. I used to work for a tree trimming company that had a gas tank on their property - it was very convenient for filling tanks and could then be easily monitored. I think that would work well for U-haul as long as you had a good system in place.

I have been a customer of this UHaul several times and this was the first time that the employee working the counter was down right rude! I will continue to use this location but if that employee is there, I will ask for someone else to help me.

the truck i had the gas gauge did not work , the trans was messed up,I had to go and buy 2 quarts of oil myself and put it in the truck. When you did about 55 miles an hour the front end would start shaking like It was going to fall apart, the back door kept getting stuck and would not open. I do a lot of business with that location and I do not appreciate the quality of the vehicle, it is very unacceptable and I believe that something should be done. and I do not appreciate getting a $300 bill for mileage that was never discussed in the beginning they just rent me the truck because of the relationship I have with them, the price was never discussed until I got back because I know the prices change daily for mileage.I appreciate you taking the time to read this and would hope that someone would get back to me and resolve the situation. Manager was very rude, made my reservation over the 800 number, was told there was a $100.00 deposit. Get there the manager was rude, finally after him complaining about the call center, he said he could do $145.00, which, left us enough for a soda each. I have used u haul out of Grand Central Storage in Ferndale, xcellent people at that location. I am moving to Florida, im not going to use u haul, I will try Ryder or someone different. Madison Hts., Mi U Haul left alot to be desired, Never again!

This started out as a simple communication error. I reserved a cargo van online at what I thought was the Ferndale location. I received a phone call for the confirmation, discussed how long I needed the van, and asked "Okay, so we're on for a van in Ferndale at noon on Sunday?" to which the gentleman I spoke to said, "Yes." On Sunday I arrived to the Ferndale location and was told they didn't have a van, that the closest one was in Madison Heights. I didn't understand how that was possible, as I had spoke to a man who confirmed my reservation. Turns out, it was the Madison Heights location that called me for confirmation. He must have misheard me or not been listening when I included the location detail in my question and I didn't know it was the Madison Heights phone number on my caller ID, I don't reverse check every number that calls me. I settled for a pick-up truck in Ferndale as I was on a time crunch and I had picked that location because of how close it was to both locations I needed to move from and to. The truck partially worked, but I had to call in extra friends to load up their cars as I was moving a home theater and I didn't want to put electronics in a wet (it had rained) pick-up bed. I called U-Haul and they told me they'd put in my complaint and I'd be compensated when a Customer Service Representative called in a couple days. This is where my situation went from annoyed to furious and ready to never give U-Haul a cent from me or any of my family, friends, even acquaintances. I received a call from a man named Steve (not sure his last name, but the number was 734-377-3519) to address this issue of confusion. He was the most condescending, insulting and rude person I have ever dealt with. He was not helpful in the least and seemed to think it was my fault that the U-Haul employee that confirmed my reservation gave me misinformation. He kept saying "Well I didn't hear that conversation." "The call came from Madison Heights." "I don't know what to tell you, we can't give everyone what they want." At one point he offered to re-forward the confirmation E-Mails, but even in that offer he was speaking to me like I was totally at blame for this miscommunication. I got off the phone and re-checked my E-Mails. The only one I got was from the initial reservation, which did indeed say "Someone will call you with a location." It didn't say anything about Madison Heights or that Ferndale wasn't an option. At this point I'm upset that he put the blame on me when my E-Mail didn't specify anything. I called back and said "I rechecked my E-Mails and they don't say anything about Madison Heights, I need you to send me a dated E-Mail that shows that I was correctly informed or quite frankly I'm tempted to put a hold on my credit card." At this point he acted as if I personally threatened his well-being and told me he was, and I quote, "done with me." He told me he was no longer willing to forward any E-Mails and that I can only ta

Called to discuss drop-off time with the local service rep. In Richmond they told me the trucks were due back on Thursday. After I read the documentation found out they were due back on Wednesday. Told the rep I could get both trucks to the location that due day, but would be a bit past the time indicated for drop-off. She told me that she would waive the late fee. Well, that worked for one truck I had to return, the second truck I was charged a late fee of $42.40. Unbelievable. Horrible customer service. I have now spoken to THREE customer service reps ALL claim that they are taking this seriously and passing it to their superiors for resolution. NOTHING happens. Beyond upset. My experience was excellent. We ended up going way over the milage stated at pickup, due to construction. The order was modified from 4 hours to one day and this saved me $20 to $30. If I need to rent again, I will be a repeat customer.
