There was a big problem with communication between locations. I was supposed to get a 15-17 ft truck for days. I was told that I would get 30 FREE miles and if I had to pick up at a faraway location that I would get extra miles. I was given a 10 foot track and was told that I didn't get any free miles... Then they almost OVER charged me by $120... It was frustrating... The man that helped fix the problem was very nice and very helpful.

The dolly didn't work. There was a long line that took forever and the worst part is uhaul did not honor my reservation DoD the correct location and time requested were not given even though I had reservation thirty days ahead and the 800 line customer service was awful and transfer me many times.

I went in on Wednesday, July 29 to make a reservation for a moving van. I also purchased a dual mattress/box spring bag set for a twin bed set. This was done around 12:30 p.m. and went fine. On Thursday, when I needed to pick up the truck, I arrived around 5:40 p.m., after work. When I went into the Verona Road facility, there was a line with 15 people ahead of me. It was taking about 5-10 minutes per customer to handle each order. I debated whether I should come back later. I decided to stay, very fortunately, since another 30 people came in to the Verona Road location after I had arrived. I finally made it out of the facility around 7:20 p.m. when I had expected to be out of there around 6:00 p.m. for the pick-up. Everh order was handled well, but this location was very understaffed for the number of customers that were coming in. Once in the truck, the mileage and fuel levels for the van did not match the paperwork which I received at the counter. The employee who did the pick-up verification with the van assigned the proper mileage and initialed the correction. This was done without hassle, which I appreciated. On Friday morning, I brought the van back just before 8:00 a.m. to the Verona Road facility. When I went i to the building, there was a line of 5 people ahead of me. I finally was able to reach the counter around 8:20 a.m. and then began the check-in procedure. It took around 10 minutes to complete this process, and during the process the employee checked mileage and asked about the discrepancy. I explained that this was corrected the day before and initialed by the check-out employee. This was accepted and I was charged for 33 miles on the van. The one item that I felt was dishonest was when the counter employee tried to sneak in a 7:00 a.m. time for return instead of an 8:00 a.m. time as promised. I caught this as he was processing the order and made him correct it. Overall, this location was extremely busy when I needed to pick up and drop off the van. They needed more employees working in the evening and in the morning. I understand that this is University of Wisconsin move-in week and that everyone is swamped with moving all over the greater Madison area. I am not sure what to suggest other than bringing in U-Haul associates from surrounding areas during the period from July 27 to August 15 for the Madison area locations.

It was fist of the month, the heaviest moving day, and there weren't anywhere near enough employees to assist people. The fellow that waited on me helped my son and me push our inoperatable car onto the carrier with the help of another customer. He was going to leave us stranded if we hadn't gotten the other customer to help

Better customer service. We had made a reservation to pick up a truck at 5:00 p.m., however my husband waited in line for an hour and a half to get the truck. This location either needs more staff or staff that can accommodate a customers needs in a more timely manner.

Somehow, have extra vehicles where thry are needed the most, or warn your customers about times when it will be harder to get a truck. If you are booked, don't overbook.

I ordered this truck in late April for July 30 and asked specifically for the location to be closer to my home because I do not have a car . The location was changed about 12 hours before scheduled pick up to a much further away location which was very difficult for us to access. When we called about at the person said, "there were eight people ahead of you" which we don't believe because we called so far in advance

On the second busiest moving day if the year they could staff a sufficient amount of people to handle the turnover. Mom both pickup and drop off the return line was out to the road. Pickup took 40 min (online check in) and drop off took 35 min.

My reservation was changed from a 15' truck to a 9' van, without notification. Luckily I noticed it online before Picking up the truck. This added more unneeded stress to an already challenging move, and shifted our timeline back several hours. I understand that sometimes trucks are unavailable, but it was very frustrating to not have gotten a heads up that things had changed.

The reservation system doesn't work. The "In Town" option has nothing to do with moving in town. I lost an entire day because I was supposed to pick up at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday. After the national representat I've found me a truck on the other side of town and offered me 30 free miles. I was supposed to pick it up at 6:30, I arrived at 5:50. I stood in line as 40 people waited who all had reservation problems. Only 2 terminals out of 4 were open, and some employees were just walking around and not doing anything. I picked up the truck at 7:19 p.m. and drove back to my side of town, a 45 minute drive. I returned the truck a day early with more fuel than I picked it up with and the guy tried charging me for the mileage and an extra day. He backed off after I argued but I should not have had to. Invest in your damn IT department and pay better wages so you get people who care about their job.

I was really disappointed that I had to get a truck 5 feet smaller than the one I had scheduled to rent when I came in on Wednesday afternoon. The guy did what he could but it didn't make my moving experience go as smoothly as possible. Ended up having to make more trips then planned and I was already on a time crunch for my move out date as it was. I do appreciate the lower rate for the truck that they could find me but over all it was kind of a disaster personally for me moving because of the mix up.

I received a phone call saying I could get a 17 ft. truck at 6 pm on 7/29/15. I arrived at the store at 6 and stood in line for 2 hrs. only to find out there was no 17 ft. truck available. I ended up taking a 15 ft. truck. The people working there did a great job, but the store is understaffed and communication between corporate, store, and customer is terrible.

This location was unable to provide the equipment I reserved 49 days prior to my pick up date. I would have gladly driven to another location had they contacted me in the few days prior. Very disappointing that even with almost 50 days notice they could not find a single 15' truck.

I was overcharged by over 100 dollars. If I don't get contacted by a manager I'm driving to the store and I'm going to stay there until someone actually talks to me and gives me some help. It has been 4 weeks since I've first contacted UHAUL with my complaint and not one single person has reached out to me. I want to talk to a manager. This is unacceptable.

The manager was on a personal call when we arrived and there were 4 people waiting in line. When he finished his call he helped one person and then promptly made another personal call. His staff was working very hard to keep up even though they were understaffed. He was not friendly or helpful. If I were his boss, I would have fired him on the spot. The return vehicles were lined up as the staff didn't have the time to move them because there were so many customers returning vehicles and others waiting to pick up. Every one was angry with and had a story to tell about the manager. I am sure you'll get reviews from them. For him to think he could make personal calls on company time is wrong but so much worse when he is causing customers to wait while he makes those calls is cause for him to be fired. The van we rented was clean and we enjoyed that part of the rental.
