Give them a truck where the Cargo light works... loading the truck at night was a pain...

I dropped the truck off after hours, but other times I have gone into this location everyone has always been extremely helpful.

Clean the cab. Litter, cigarette pack and a sock on the floor. Exterior was was very dirty. Truck also displayed service reminder that it needed an oil change but ran well during my trip.

Excellent. Although I was given a quote by uhaul I was not told that there was a higher rate for weekend use. The location honored the week day quote

As usual, overall trailer rental experience was fine. My only disappointment was the cost; more than 100% higher than the average price I've paid for the last 10 years. I understand supply and demand and many trailers are headed south this time of year, but how 'bout a discount/loyalty program for a long term customer.

I was not notified that I would be charged extra to drop off truck at a different location. I was very dissatisfied with the lack of customer service. No one was willing to work with me on this. I am the customer and I should have been notified of what could happen if I change location for drop off. I explained that I would be doing so yet nothing was mentioned to me about higher rates. It wasn't until the end of my move when I called in that it was than explained to me. They were not willing to work with me and even told me I had less time to return truck than what I really had. I had to tell traffic controller that he was giving me less time for truck return. Wow!!!! After a whole day of moving the last thing I needed is your company to make it more difficult for me. I never had a problem when I rented from the Toms River location, but for some reason when I rent from Manahawkin there are always higher fees and more problems.

The people at this specific location were wonderful but by my overall experience with U-haul was terrible. The van I ordered was not at the requested location. I received NO phone call, text or e-mail about the change in pickup locations. Taylor Rental Center in Manahawkin bent over backwards to accommodate me.

I spent 40 years in retail, and learned how to recognize good customer service. The young men that helped us, one upon pickup, and another upon return, were each polite, and professional. I had confidence in their abilities.

Next time don't send the customer 50 miles out of the way to pick up a truck. That is an inconvenience and ludicrous. I used up extra time, money, and gas going to an out of the way location to get the truck. The extra mileage was appreciated but no compensation when time, money and tolls are an issue. Then when I returned the truck there was no way to get a receipt at this close location because the man was not there who handled it and the other person did not know what to do. I was also recommended a truck that was a bit too small. I would not recommend U-Haul because availability to the customer is not a guaranteed perk. It was just so inconvenient driving back and forth and checking out.

The cab of the truck smelled horrible, like a fat person sweating. Had to open the windows. It was gross! The truck front end was also very loose and the truck floated side to side while driving it.

Maintaining a safe-looking piece of equipment is essential for the customer in having confidence that the equipment they are renting will "make the trip". I rented a 5x9 trailer with ramp. The wheel bearings looked like they have never been greased due to the fact that the wheel's lug nuts were rusted. With that in mind, I took the $30,000 insurance because I was hauling my $26,000 motorcycle. If I had the same trailer a week before(which was maintained well), I would have been confident to take the minimal insurance. Also, there is an inconsistency of what trailer you are renting for a specific reason. When I made my online rental, I added that I was hauling a motorcycle and needed a 5x9 with ramp and built in chock, as advertised. My first rental was a 5x9 trailer with ramp and the built in chock. Knowing that it was a hit and miss process when this type trailer is rented, I brought my wooden 6x6 block for my recent rental in case I got a trailer without the built in wheel chock, which I did, so my front fender would not hit the front of the trailer, which it would have if I did not have that block to put a 6" gap between the fender and the front of the trailer. When U-Haul rents these trailers and the customer states that they are hauling a motorcycle, there should be a request page that allows them to state they need this type trailer. I know that there is a motorcycle trailer available, but you have to rent it by returning it to the same location you picked it up at. Lastly, I have a vehicle that will allow me to pull a 10,000 lb load. When I input this information, I am informed that my vehicle cannot rent the trailer I know I can pull. I owned a 17'x9' dual axle low profile trailer with a Class III Hitch for over 10 years before I sold it and just needed a trailer now and then so I started renting from U-Haul. It is frustrating in knowing what my 2013 Ram 1500 Hemi 4x4 w/6' bed was able to haul my old trailer(which it was set up for when the truck was purchased), yet U-Haul insists that I cannot pull a motorcycle trailer or a 5x9 trailer with ramp at times. All your 5x9 trailers with ramp should be available with the built in wheel block so a renter does not have to second guess what they need to bring with them as added equipment to insure their loads are safely strapped for transport.
